That's awesome! I'm glad I could help! Thank you for supporting the channel!
Oh my goodness! I just fixed my washer by following this video. I’m 68 and a grey-haired old lady with limited vision but I did it!!!!!! I figured I had nothing to lose by trying ( I’m big on trying new things) and if I failed I’d call a repairman. Thank you SOOOOOOO much! You just saved me $$$$$$!
Great job! This comment made my day! I am glad you were not afraid to give it a shot! Glad I could help!
Me Too!!!
Hi.. You just motivated me to try and do this on my own.
Great video…. I am not technically inclined. This video saved me thousands. Many thanks well done!
Excellent video; got right to the heart of the problem. ~5 year-old Maytag Bravos XL is back to life! Thank you!!
Ok good video u forgot to tell people if they see an error code. f6 e3 thats the interface error code and after cleaning they can use a bit of clear silicone on those contacts to prevent that problem in the future 25 years experience with whirlpool
I watched about 8/9 different videos about this problem & this was the only video where this man at least gave you the option of trying to clean the contacts before you buy a new interface control board, thank you & good job !
Same here, legit fix for sure
This video is awesome! Woke this morning to my washer not working searched up the issue and your video was one of the first to pop up! Yours was the easiest to follow and within 30 min I was done & fixed!!! Thank you so much for this! Def saved my little family lots of $$
Your welcome! Glad I could help you and your family!
it worked! replaced board two times under warranty, this third time, no warranty, used your fix and it works!!! Thank you!
That's awesome! Glad to help!
This video was excellent. The failure mode was exactly the same, and the process to resolve worked exactly as described in the video. Very appreciative. Thank you sincerely
Thank you for watching!
Thank you so much. You saved me an expensive service call.
Just saved me multiple thousands of dollars. Washer was out but of course you can’t have a mismatched washer dryer……
Followed the video and it’s back to life! So grateful my friend.
Thank you
That's so awesome!
Thanks for DIY it a big help to us. We appreciated 🙏
Thank you. Worked perfectly! Left a modest thank you payment 😊
Glad to help! Thanks for supporting the channel!
THANK YOU!!! This worked on my Maytag 2019. I was so frustrated and didn’t think it could be that easy. You rock!!!👍 I subbed
Awesome Job fixing it! Glad you enjoyed the video
Are you kidding me? You just saved us $500! Thank you SO much for this video!
You're welcome! Glad to help!
Thank you very much. I unplugged mine to clean behind it and when I plugged it back in it initially lit up but as I was scrolling through settings I noticed no sound so I tapped the audio settings and it went blank. I tried what you recommended but to no avail. Would you happen to know the part number for that part you were cleaning with the alcohol.
The interface board/panel is one part. The number should be on a sticker on the inside of the panel
Anyone else try this and it didn’t work? Half my panel is working the other half isn’t. And when I unplug the power it stays lit up for a few minute. Very bizarre.
I would try cleaning it once more. Especially if it wasn't powering on all before the initial cleaning
You’re video was perfect, no more issue. THANKS!
Awesome! Glad I could help!
Hey thanks for the easy fix that would have cost me $300+ 30 min and done👍🏼😎now I can head to the beach…Aloha!!
Hey no fair! I deserve some beach time as well! Jk enjoy!
You saved me $1200 homie 🙏🏻
Warranty people said no one around me could fix it so they gave me a gift card for $799
Cleaned the board up with some alcohol and it turned right back on 👏🏻👏🏻
I used affresh washer machine cleaner a couple weeks back and I think the steam sent it over the edge after a couple years of collecting moisture
Either way thanks again!!
That's awesome! Glad it worked!
Fixed it with your help! THANK YOU very much. We had barely any corrosion on those contacts, but scrubbed them clean and voila! A tip for all your viewers - Maytag's instruction booklet says to keep the lid OPEN after washing until the basket is dry. We never did that, until now of course. That dampness probably contributed to the corrosion.
I'm glad I could help! Yes, leaving the lid open will help with the moisture!
It did nothing for me. I did have green contact third one down from the top. Cleaned the contacts, no joy, the panel is still dead. And when I do plug it back in I get a little arc on the right pin with the ground down.
Could be your interface board is corroded beyond the contacts
@@DuctTapeMechanic would appear so, I contacted Sorenson’s Appliances, local shop were I bought this washer. They had the same conclusion. This machine is almost 10 years old and the water shut off valve is starting to leak. Long story short, the parts are almost as expensive as a new machine and then there’s labor. I think it’s time for a new machine. But your video was still very helpful, it helped me rule out something easy and simple to fix. I think it’s just time for a new washer.
Thanks!
mine won't toggle and tried cleaning it. still not toggling. suggestion?
If it won't toggle the rotary encoder on the interface board is bad, you will need a new interface board/panel (the part you touch to control the washer)
Great video! Unfortunately this fix did not resolve my situation, so far I've had to disassemble the entire top piece to reveal the PCB. Which is a very thin membrane with traces on both sides and the conformal coating that it comes with is so thin that the steam from hot water and bleach has gotten in there and has caused some of the black traces to turn black and some to even drip through with green corrosion and cross. I've used alcohol and q-tips to remove all the loose build up which even removes some of the white coating. I did get a promising result where the lights came on for a few minutes. I'm going to try to repair some of the traces, if that does the trick I will have a UA-cam channel on my own and I will tag you in it! Thank you
Thank you Mr.
Exactly what you have showed. Work like a champ.
Thank you very much. 🙏
I'm glad the video helped. Good job on fixing your washer
Thank you for your help it really helped me to fix my washer 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 I have been in dirty clothes for couple weeks before I fixed
I'm so sad mine isn't working still... Any other advice please
Try cleaning the contacts even if they appear to be clean
@@DuctTapeMechanic I definetly did. A guy at my job mentioned something about the lock causing the power outage since the play/pause button gets hot when its plugged in although no power turns on .??? Any ideas? Thank you so much for even considering helping me with this!
Just fixed my washer using this method. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
Ok. I cleaned the green off (wasnt too bad - like 2.5 yrs old) but still won’t turn on. The green light is blinking on the board. How do I know what to replace?
THIS WORKS!!!! Thank you so much.
Glad to help dude!
Thank u exactly what was wrong with mine. Had for about 18 months and went to do laundry today and wouldn’t turn on. To a non experienced person all this took about 45min- 1hr. Trickiest part is when u take screws out and pull the top forward u need to wiggle back about 1/4 inch to undo the clips.I paused the video and looked which way the hooks were. Video is excellent
Great work! Glad you found the video to be helpful!
Thanks for your comment as it solved our problem.
What a great help this was . 30 minutes snd back in business! Thank you!!
Glad to help! Thanks for watching
I have this exact washer. What can I check when the washer comes on but water isn’t coming out. I changed the part with the 4 cylinders that the hoses attach to. What else can I check?
This totally fixed the problem! Washing clothes again finally thanks you 👍
Great to hear!
Yep. This worked for me. Thank you sir.
You explain things, so even a moron like myself can understand. Thank you, gonna try that tomorrow.
You are no moron sir. A moron would have thrown out the washer without trying to fix it!
Can I do this on the dryer as well
Definitely worth a shot
Thanks for the great video. I opened up the lid and the contacts were corroded but after I cleaned them the washer still didn't start. Any thoughts on how to determine whether I need a new interface vs. control board? Thanks.
More then likely the corrosion is somewhere else on the interface board sometimes they have to be taken all the way apart and cleaned. Is the machine throwing any codes? If the control board is flashing green light it is most likely ok.
Do the hinges pop out by themselves when you put it back together?
Thx man. Was able to fix it and looked like a experienced handy man in front of the wife
Right on! That is awesome! Glad I could help
I use this video step-by-step..... And it worked !..... Took me about an hour from start to finish.... But I'm kind of slow 😅
I think I avoided at least a $350 repair bill .....plus my Wife is Super impressed with me !!!!!!!
Awesome! Great work on the repair
I really needed this to work for me today. I’m totally bummed.
Wow would have never found this without the video. I was ready to buy a new board. Thanks
Glad I could help
Thank you so much ! I was able to solve my Maytag Washer's issue by following your steps. Other persons shows the videos about repairing washers but were missing some information in demonstration .
Glad to help! Good job fixing your washer!
After you clean it put some liquid electrical tape over the contacts to seal it and prevent more corrosion.
Good advice!
Watched this video and fixed my washer within 15 minutes. Thank you so much for the easy to follow tutorial!
You're welcome! I'm glad to help! And congrats and fixing your own machine!
This did the trick. 👍 Thank you for the video.
Have the Bravos but just basic model. Out of balance often now. Tub moves around like I saw it move when you were moving the washer around. So looks like the Bravos has shocks. So would that be the problem?
Most likely, the rods but could also be a loose tub nut
Thank you thank you sir. Amazing. My wife thinks im a genius. Washer works perfectly after cleaning contacts.
Happy wife, happy life!
Thanks for the video my guy! I've had to clean that component in the past when the machine was throwing error codes. I thought I must be facing a whole new issue since it wouldn't even power on this time around. Back up and running now thanks to you!
Awesome! Glad i could help!
Excellent video! My contacts were Black , cleaned it with alcohol pads and Q-Tips and was amazed how the copper color appeared. Machine working perfectly. Thank You!
Awesome! Glad it helped!
THANK YOU so much for your videos. This was a huge help, I really enjoy your videos.
You're welcome! Glad to help!
Followed this video and I fixed my neighbor’s washer. Maybe 15 minutes worth of work.
Awesome!
❤ thank you so much!!! The last time they scammed me that they needed to replace the control board!!!! Literally in 10 minutes got this fixed. That design is trash Maytag.
Yes, terrible design! I'm glad I could help!
Save me a service call $$$$.
Thanks a bunch!
Great info! The secondary pads where some alternate connector was included in the PCB layout was corroded as you suggested. The corrosion seemed to be corrupting the serial data line! Since there was not a connector populated at this footprint the effects of the corrosion was elusive to me until you pointed this out. Thanks for the good posts!
Awesome! Glad I could help! Great job fixing your washer!
I’m having issues with the touch screen part not working! When I turn the dial it only stays on one mode and won’t start or allow me to even Change modes! HELP ME 😢
I would go through and do the cleaning as shown in the video. If that does not work, then your user interface panel most likely needs to be replaced
I have the cabrio model and the display won’t turn on , I got a new main board and a different display and it still won’t come on, what should I be looking at?
Wow that's strange. A new main board and interface board but still won't turn on? Perhaps there is a bad wire/loose connection on the wire harness
@@DuctTapeMechanic deffinetly was a wire issue, but the interface I got also didn’t match the board so it wasn’t working I was getting a F2 E3 code so had to return the interface , waiting in a replacement
Is there anything you would recommend to spray on or “coat”the area that gets corroded ?
I would recommend looking into electronic safe silicone if the problem keeps reoccurring. You'd be surprised how many people throw this machine away due to this issue
My cabrio wtw6400sw2 gives an OL code and I have to put into drain/spin to drain the water. I don’t hear it agitating.
Most likely bad suspension rods. I got a video on how to replace them on the Cabrio on my channel. Just get the good rods from a reputable appliance parts website (not amazon), and it should solve the issue (probably cost u like $60 in parts)
👍 my dad fix the washing machine because of your instructions, thank you very much
@lalovillafranco7600 that's awesome! Glad I could help!
Thank you for the video. That was our our Problem! Up and running!
You're welcome!
I’m having a f5 issue with this same washer , I changed out the part maybe 2 yrs ago but now same error code. Please help if can
Lid lock mechanism every two years? Not bad, I'd say
Thanks you so much.
Happy to help
You didn’t clean other contacts that touch the interface contact.
Great video! My Maytag powered right up after i cleaned the copper pieces. Thank you!
Awesome! Glad I could help!
Same issue faced in a different copper item in the same area and machine is back up and running again. Thank you so much!
Glad to help!
I cannot get the lid off this easily
I have this problem with the cabrio model and I did this fix but still can’t get the display to come on , what else could it be ?
Could be another issue with the interface board. With the display disassembled try to see if there is a flashing light on the main board. If there is most likely the issue is with the interface board
@@DuctTapeMechanic did some testing and their is. I flashing light so I know the board is fried , also no power on the plug to the interface , I have a. Lard inbound for tomorrow.
Genius! Mine looked brand new but I still rubbed alcohol and it started working again .Thanks
Awesome glad to hear that!
Brother this saved me some worry and headache thanks !!!!🙏
Glad to help!
Thank You so much , you just saved me big bucks $$$$, Blessings to You !!
You are welcome! Appreciate the kind words!
Thanks man exactly what was wrong with it keep up the videos🎉😊😊
You're welcome!
Video great, but I'm trying to the lid lock isn't disengaging- HELP ?
Try pulling the plug and plugging it back in after 10 minutes or so
@@DuctTapeMechanic thank you...these machines are junk.
You are a gem this worked for me
Hi. Mine is stuck on the "bedding" mode. No error codes pop up. What shows is the time frame of the wash which is 1:06. Tried unplugging. Please help. Thx
Thank you thank you thank you!! This fixed our washer as well!
Awesome! Glad the video was helpful!
i cleaned the board it work for about a week and now it is dead again, i have had my whirlpool cabrio for about ten years, i wonder if i should buy another machine
Excellent I appreciate I did same thing works great thanks
Your welcome!
Thank you!!!! Totally fixed it
You're welcome!
great video, our five year old washer is back up and running. Thanks
Thank you so much!!! Excellent video!!!
You're welcome!
My washer is of the same model. Stopped in the middle of washing and shows code F5.
I believe that you can pop the clips on the back panel by slipping a putty knife between the panel and washers top and pushing the clips. No need to open the top.
Great video.
Your right! That's another way to do this. I am kinda used to doing it this way having replaced so many lid locks and suspension rods! Thank you for watching
Thanks! Wonder video just fixed my washer in 15 mins.
Duuuuuuuude!!!! Because of you I might get some tonight!
Hahahaha this is funny! Best of luck!
🎉 thanks for this vid. Solved my issues!
Glad to help!
I did everything like you did, and still has no power.
It is possible that you have a bad main power supply board
Also did the same unfortunately did not work got quoted $400 to replace the control console
Thank you! I fixed my washer in less than 20 minutes because of this video. Most of that time was driving to the WalMart by my house to get the alcohol.
That's awesome! I'm glad I could help!
Thank you so much! This worked!
Glad it helped!
Worked like a charm! Thank you!
Awesome! Glad to help!
Thanks "Duct Tape Mechanic" you just save me BIG TIME!!!! My washer didn't turn on this morning so after pricing a new one at ~$900, I then started pricing the board and/or the control panel I stumbled across this video. THANKS!!!! It totally worked.
Comments like this keep me going! Glad to help!
Thanks!
I just fixed my dad's washer! Thank you for helping me make my dad believe I'm super smart 😂
That's awesome! I'm sure dad is impressed!
Thank you, it worked perfectly
Once you take the large long plate off & the small plate you dont have to lift up the top of the machine. You can stick the Q-tip under & clean the sensors. Thanks for this tip. Worked like a charm! Saved us tons of money.
Excellent video. Exactly my machines problem!
Saved hundreds of dollars. This is our first time to try fixing appliance and this video helped a lot…million thanks
Awesome! It's always a bit scary the first time! Glad I could be of assistance!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge about this issue. It was exactly the issue with my washer. I followed your steps exactly and now my washing machine is working again, THANK YOU!
Glad I could help!
Came across your video after my wife called me sad and disappointed and said the Maytag washer wasn't powering on. After watching your video pulled it apart and did just like you said and now my wife is happy again.
Thank you very much.😊
Glad I could help!!!
