I've been to a few Brazilian BBQ restaurants, and each time I leave I'm both regretting how much I've eaten, and loving it. That's where I've learned that I like chicken hearts.
I used to go to a Brazillian BBQ here in Seattle. I must say, I really miss that place. It was heaven. I would go for lunch every payday, and come back to work and being absolutely useless. I was not the only one either, even my supervisor partook and was useless afterwards. Meat comas are the best.
"But would we get the same service?" I haven't been to this specific place, but I've been to many similar places, both in Brazil and in America. In the good places I can tell you that yes, this is the standard way that waiters treat guests.
Gotta love brazilian rodízios! Some tips for people that haven't gotten into one (or have little experience): 1. Don't overload your plates with meat! The most deliciousness you get is from the piping hot slices. Take your time to appreciate it. Churrasco is more than a diner option, it's like a ritual for us brazilians. 2. Take care with cheese (some restaurants offer grilled). Since it's salty, it's gonna make you thirsty quick (+making you drinking something) and not able to enjoy the whole experience. 3. Don't overdo the buffet, or appetizers/sides the waiters bring to the table. At some restaurants they'll try to pump a lot of carbohydrate-rich stuff (fried polenta/manioc/french fries, pastéis, etc). Same as above, plus those foods make you saciated quick. 4. Some restaurants offer grilled pineapple (you can always ask for it). Most of the acidity gets nullified by the heat, so all that's left is some great refreshment. Great way to balance through all the fatty meat. 5. Some restaurants reserve special cuts that don't "run" often. This one is trickier since you'll need to be a bit familiar with what that restaurant offers. But you can always ask the waiter for something that you want to try but haven't yet! 6. And least but not last, try a restaurant that grills the meat with real charcoal! The flavour it "prints" into the meat is something unique.

Hey Mikey! Brazilian here! Here are some cool things to know about Churrascarias/Brazilian Steakhouses: 1 - The variety of meats offered in Churrascarias abroad pales in comparison to the ones we have here in Brazil. We have sometimes around 20/30 varieties of meat (including my favorite: Wild Boar). 2 - I wouldn't reccommend eating "pastéis"(our take on dumplings) at Brazilian Steakhouses (normally it's made of minced old meat). 3 - Also, anything with garlic is pretty much old meat (we're talking about meat that hasn't been able to be served, not dry aging) - So they normally use garlic and/or pineapple as a way to soften the meat that has been sitting in a freezer all day. "Garlic Sirloin" and "Sirloin Roasted with Pineapples" are a big no-no. 4 - I've worked in a churrascaria, as both a cook and a waiter - They'll fill you up with all sorts of cheap cuts (sausage, flank) and hold out on the top sirloin/good stuff. And, if you've been sitting there for a while they'll start bringing you less and less of the good stuff, so, always ask specifically for the Sirloin if you want more. 5 - I don't know if you didn't show or if they didn't have it, but... It's kinda traditional to have chicken heart at churrascarias. I love it so much. Of yeah! They didn't have Farofa? It's really good. 6 - If you ever come to São Paulo, give me a ring - I'll show you some of the best all you can eat buffet in the city. Specially barbecue which you can have a REALLY GOOD one for less than 25 USD That's it! Always a pleasure to se people enjoying the food from Brazil!

I went to one of these in NYC back in the mid-to-late 1990s... my best friend was a rich kid, his father was a very wealthy businessman, and we had a tradition that every year at Christmas, we'd go shopping in NYC and he'd take us to one of the most famous steakhouses in The City. Well one year, he told us, he had a surprise, we were going to a BRAZILIAN steakhouse ... and it's a BUFFET! We were both like ... whaaaaaaaaat? Lol, yes, he put the beans over the spoon with rice, he don't mix the bean with rice, blasphemy! Gringos, don't do that, put the amount of beans you want into the rice plate, mix it, and then eat...
I'm surprised because i didn't know this kind of restaurant isn't "normal" outside Brazil. I'm brazilian and steakhouses like that are common, We also have the same system on pizza restaurants (You will get pizza forever if you stay green) and sushi too. Every group of young friends already tried to spend a whole day without eating just to save space on the stomach and eat everything they could at night. "Let's prejudice this restaurant only by eating forever". Of course some places will extra charge you if you don't eat everything you asked, just to avoid that kind of brats (ok there are a lot of adults doing this too). If someone want to search about this kind of restaurant, it's called "rodízio". Rodízio of meat, rodízio of pizza, rodízio of sushi...
~veeery good text and share of knowledge, but just a point, you must've said "to harm this restaurant"~. man I was pretty sure that they had this type of service there.
I LOVE Brazilian steakhouses! The black beans they cook with bay leaves. Also the pineapple the ones served in California has cinnamon on top and the two help with digestion as if you're going to any Brazilian Steakhouse.... You're likely going to overeat!
Brazilian Steakhouse is my place to go -1st choice. I fist discovered the Rodizio style Churosco in Brazil. When I got back home to the States, I later found out that Fogo de Chao was opening in my city. I have been addicted ever since. The best meal on earth!! Enjoy!
A traditional barbecue here in Brazil must have, besides the meat, rice, yucca flour (farofa), boiled cassava (mandioca cozida) and vinagreitte sauce. My dad also makes some chicken wings marinated in wine (or mustard), garlic and other spices which are AMAZING. edit: I forgot to say that I love to put some lime on the meat. The flavors just mix so well
Thank you for this vlog! I'm from the US & attended university in Sao Paulo. Please go, film there and share this incredible experience (churrasco) with wonderful food and people!
I had never had or even heard of Brazilian bbq until this video but after having a foodgasm watching the food come out melting I tracked down a place that does it locally and it was the best and most fun experience I’ve ever had eating out.
Your genuine excitement and pure joy about food is truly intoxicating man, you are exactly what every cheesy food show host only wishes they could emulate.
Man, when you ate rice and beans with the pork sausage and the chicken, you really represented all the brazilians. Most popular and daily dish in São Paulo. Edit: 5 years later, I just noticed that there was no charcoal in the pit, come onnnnnnnnn!
Thanks both of you, it was great and the staff was Amazing, I told them what I was doing in my reservations and they gave us a great seat with a view of the fountain outside, and free dessert. They were also so polite. Places like this are great for special occasions, but they’re also great for anytime. And with the menu, it’s really not that unhealthy if you don’t overindulge because you’re eating good fire roasted meat and a couple sides. 👍🏼
UncommonSituations the one in Tampa (safety in case the one up there isn’t run the same) is amazing, the food is cooked to order kind of (it comes as it is on the sword but if you want it any way you can ask and they’ll get it for you but it may take them time to cook it more/carve away more cooked meat) the sides are good as well and the service is great, everyone is super nice and thy understand not everyone gets the idea so they explain it before hand and make sure you’re comfortable , they even say you can flip the “coin” over to red to let the food settle then flip it back over when you’re ready to go again
I am from South Brazil - the Rio Grande do Sul where this type of restaurant is natural. We are called Gaucho (a type of cowboy). In the past, this is the way of barbecue was done by Gauchos in the fields where cattle were raised. I'm so happy you had enjoyed our culture.
I didn't know you have traditional *BRAZILIAN CHURRASCARIA* ( steakhouse ) in the United States, that is exactly how we have here in Brazil, I've been eating that at least 2 times per week since I was a kid for my entire life. The little secret they do is that they try to stuff you with bread and other stuff like that prior to the meat so that your stomach has little room for the meat, so if you never been to a *BRAZILIAN CHURRASCARIA* remember you are there to eat meat, not the bread, salad or the delicious treats they have at that fancy buffet, eat just a little of that to try it out but save enough room to the main thing which is the meat.
Got a chance to go to this steakhouse this past Sunday, it is everything I could ever have hoped for and more! The servers just assault you with meat at every angle, and all of it is incredible! I highly recommend this place!
I feel ya Mike. I went to a Brazillian Steakhouse close to my hometown and the service was spot on!! I loved how each server inputted their personality throughout the meal and it was the best! And it was the exact same thing were they kept coming. There was one instance were one server was waiting on our current one. Great food and experience that was worth the price.
I went to an all you can eat Brazilian streak place locally awhile back. It has green and red. But it's a cylinder with yellow in the middle. I decided to turned it sideways to make it represent yellow. One of the meat servers came over and asked if that means speed up. Lol.
I ate at the Brazilian restaurant in Portland Oregon for my birthday several years ago. I could not believe how much meat there was, it was insane. I loved the meat but also the dessert it was yummy. The fried bananas were so good. Fun time!
My mom is from brazil and my dad is from Correa we moved to America wen I was 8 now I’m 12 and as a Brazilian I love to see people enjoying my culture!!!!❤️❤️
Finally eating Brazilian food. But wait until u find out that there’s a lot more options to eat than just the bbq in Brazil. You have to try acarajé and moqueca (Brazilian food from a state called bahia). I am Brazilian loved the video and your faces with the meats. Awesome video. Lol

It's more expensive in the United States than in Brazil. You don't want to fill up on side dishes when you are spending that much.
Watches this during lockdown while eating hotcup noodles...
Edwin so im not the only one then
Sadly your not the only one
We should all go once the lock down is over!!

From a Brazilian person, watching your videos, I am very very happy that you have enjoyed part of our culture. You will more than welcome in Brazil.
No joke, I was eating along the video but I finished early and as I was about to take a drink of soda, I unconsciously bit the bottle lol
Always make sure to eat up cus you never know when you get hit with Mike's videos
My wife and I went here this past weekend. It was truly outrageous. The food was amazing. All of the staff was super-nice and hospitable.
Ive tried this before but in Seattle, i can tell you that this is the best place for meat lovers😭
Been to the one in Seattle. Excellent!
I LOVE HOW PASSIONATE HE IS BOUT FOOD UGH

I’ve had some of the most fun I’ve had in my life at Brazilian steakhouses and I’m not ashamed at all
I love how he becomes a poet as more food is involved.
I LOVE Brazilian steakhouses! The black beans they cook with bay leaves. Also the pineapple the ones served in California has cinnamon on top and the two help with digestion as if you're going to any Brazilian Steakhouse.... You're likely going to overeat!
congratulations mike, you pass the test and now you can move to Brazil!!!

Brazilian Steakhouse is my place to go -1st choice. I fist discovered the Rodizio style Churosco in Brazil. When I got back home to the States, I later found out that Fogo de Chao was opening in my city. I have been addicted ever since. The best meal on earth!! Enjoy!

it is the best. especially the garlic one. I just went to one like this in LA for lunch a few days ago mmm.
I love Picanha
I went to a Brazilian steak house a couple of times and I didn’t know which steak was my favorite 😂😂 it was still very delicious
They dont bring the Picanha around that much. They try to fill you up on cheap sirloin.

The flavors just mix so well
I LOVE Brazilian steakhouses 😍😍😍 This place looks awesome!!!

Tampa has a great one called Texas De Brazil , it’s the same concept, it’s great I proposed to my wife there!
I can't think of a better place to propose to a person congratulations
Thanks both of you, it was great and the staff was Amazing, I told them what I was doing in my reservations and they gave us a great seat with a view of the fountain outside, and free dessert. They were also so polite. Places like this are great for special occasions, but they’re also great for anytime. And with the menu, it’s really not that unhealthy if you don’t overindulge because you’re eating good fire roasted meat and a couple sides. 👍🏼
Is it actually good? They're also in Michigan

I think it's one of the best things that we have in Brazil. I loved your video!
I like watching you eat more than I like to eat!!! You do eating justice!

Fun time!
