Love Brazilian bbq. Pampas in miracle mile mall in Vegas was excellent. Fogo in San Diego is pretty amazing as well. Rei de Gado in San Diego is my favorite. Best lamb I've ever had.
If you're staying in SP until September, you should go to the CEAGESP Festival, it's an amazing seafood festival that only happens during Spring-Summer. Their most famous dish is the Paella.
OMG I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU ARE FINALLY IN BRAZIL! Welcome to SP! If you have time plss go to Jojo Ramen and order the Karamisso! You are not going to be disappointed😊
I would love to say thank you Mikey for sharing your amazing foods around the world how lucky we are to see to experience the luxury food you show us so wish we had the food you show here in new Zealand thanks again for sharing you definitely mine and my husbands choice for food you show us all
You were probably one of the first youtubers i watched. That was around 10 years ago, back then you made another type of content (about mystical stories I think) I loved it, but I'm happy for you that your content switch back then worked out so great for you :D
Hey man! Wonderfull to see you in my hometown! I hope you enjoy the food here! São Paulo has everything you can hope for, not only traditional Brazilian food, but also food from different countries around the world. I really recommend you try our Italian and Asian restaurants as well!
20:35 that is Apple mango here in the Philippines that distinct red spot of it means it is so ripe it doesn't taste medicine like cough syrup but that have red almost half of it is good to enjoy with its sweetness
Welcome to Brazil!!! Recommend you to try all the food from all the regions!!! In Paraná it's pinhão season, it's a traditional snack from the araucária trees! There's also barreado, meat stew cooked for hours that makes anyone smile!!! And make room for desserts and coffee, we love to eat/drink after lunch!!! So happy to see you here!!!!!!!
Mike I was so jealous but sadly the one meat that I absolutely know you would love is cupim or beef hump! I can't believe you didn't get any, that they didn't offer it. It's even better than picahna. Please make sure you find and have some before you leave, have a great time. Julie from Wisconsin
I've been to Sao Paolo & very much enjoyed the Central Market. Yes, the huge mortadella sandwich is a must eat for us foodies! I was at the Barbacoa restaurant in Brasilia some years ago & enjoyed the evening! Yes, the picanha, lamb chops & the beef ribs are the stars but their salad plus bar & the other tastiest like the morcilla are wonderful! I believe I paid about R$5,200 for the Rodizia Completa, about US$110 at that time! Well worth it! Brazilian bbq in USA is not even close!
Your right, for 4 people including food, drinks & tip it was about R$520, my error. I did enjoy several other restaurants in Brasilia. Mangas, Coco Bambu & Feitiço des Artes were good , if I remember correctly & not very expensive.
It appears in the video this guy ate a whole sandwich, And then went to the aa you can eat. Meat ! No way I would eat anything the entire day. But I guess some can handle being a little hungry for a while.
I have to say, thank you for your quality foodie vlog mukbang reviews. You have a way with words that's really fun to follow, and your enjoyment of the foods makes for ringside seating at some really interesting places and eateries. God bless you today.
I respect that you called out the roast for being dry. I could tell it would be dry and refused it when they offered it, instead preferring to save my tummy for the better cuts like Picanha or the pork belly. BTW, that lamb is slightly overcooked. Lamb really needs to be rare to medium rare for it to work. That looked medium to me and looked just like the lamb I was served, which was good but slightly on the disappointing side.
So glad you made it to Brazil! One of my favorite countries! I love the food there! If you’re still there make sure you eat fijoada and moqueca! If you’re already back I hope you got to try them. I’m actually flying to São Paulo tomorrow night. I’ll be eating fijoada on Wednesday afternoon!!
Did a double take when he said Fogo De Chao because I have one in my city. Went several time and it was really good, would explain why. I remember my first time to one in LA and it was so meh. But every time I went to Fogo De Chao here it was great.
I'm Brazilian and know some countries around the world, however there are not in the world city like São Paulo to eat some different kind of option, quality, quantity and prices... São Paulo is like a Ocean food for some many options.
So glad you finally came to Brazil, welcome!!! Hope you enjoy our great food and hospitality. Not sure if you're visiting my state but trying Minas Gerais' food is a must. Tons of pork dishes, very seasoned and garlic rich foods, amazing multi pepper sauces and dairy products like pão de queijo (Brazilian cheese bread, Minas' is the original one!). By the way, the smoked fish is haddock. So glad you came! Jabuticaba is one of my favorite fruits ever, it's addictive. Its name means "the fruit that the jabuti eats". Jabutis are Amazon tortoise and they can be found in the bottom of these trees to eat the fruit.
Even in Brazil a lot of people don't know that one of our staples, the Pastel de Feira, is actually a Japanese immigrant invention, so no wonder a lot of pastelarias have Japanese descendant owners, even more in São Paulo.
If you visit Rio this time, go to Churrascaria Palace, hands down the best churrasco steakhouse in the country, if you know how to order. Many cuts normally doesn't come to your table unless you specifically order them as they are not well known from the public, but they're all extremely delicious. They also have sea food as the tambaqui ribs, an amazonian fish so large that you eat the ribs as a pork or lamb rib. And contact me if you do go there, as a local I've got tons of places to go tipically carioca, meaning truly from Rio, as just a real local can go. Good video anyway.
Just love your in depth honest food descriptions & personal anecdotes; along with clearly researched, knowledgeable tidbits & historical facts about whatever region you're visiting & experiencing 😊
Nice video😊👍 But as a Brazilian musician, I really do not understand why people making videos about Brazil puts those such STRANGE "music" that is COMPLETELY non-brazilian on the back 😅😅 👍 Sounds like a bad-computer-salsa... We do NOT play salsa in Brazil😅😅 PS: You missed many important cuts ( at least for brazilians😋), like Boar, garlic filet- mignon, pork with cheese etc...😌👍
Mike, i noticed that many youtubers comes to São Paulo they miss the official dish of the city called Virado a Paulista. This dish has some similarities with the Red Beans and Rice from New Orleans, like usually served on mondays and some ingredients like rice, beans and pork.
You are finally here!!! I'm so glad!! I hope you enjoy visiting my home home country! If there's any room in your schedule, please try a place called Mugui. It's located in the Liberdade neighborhood, a place that has everything asian. I've been going to this place for almost 20 years. And they are amazing!!
Omg, all that delicious meat. I'll take all that, and the blood sausage, mmmm mmm ❤Those fruits were so interesting too ❤ I hope your trip is everything you hoped it would be and more.
We have those grapes here in Louisiana. They are called Muskydines. They are so delicious. People here make syrup, jelly, and wine with them. It makes some of the absolute best wine I have ever drank. If you ever have the chance to eat them, please do? I can assure you, you will love them. Don't eat the outer casing though. Just the inside and be careful of the small seeds. I would like to say that although Jabuticaba grows on the trunk of a tree and you may be able to eat the outer casing and may or may not have seeds. That being said, a Jabuticaba and a Muscadine (to correct the spelling) are both grapes, they both look and taste exactly the same in every aspect. With a Muscadine, you can't eat the outer casing and a Muscadine grows on vines. Other than Jabuticaba having seeds or not are the only three differences that I am privy to.
They are not the same thing, just have similar appearance. They are completely different species, Muskydines being _Vitis rotundifolia,_ a type of grape from the _Vitaceae_ family, while Jabutica is _Plinia cauliflora,_ a type of berry from the _Myrtaceae_ family.
I can't believe you actually is (was?) in Brazil! If you are still there, you must try the giant gyozas that are sold in the Sunday market at Liberdade! They are amazing!
Mortadela sandwich is overrated in my opinion... Definitely try the Bauru sandwich, which is made with roast beef, pickles, 3 types of cheese melted into one and tomato in a bread
I went to Fogo de Chao in Chicago in 2022 and i must say it was not worthy. It was like $60. The meat was ok but they didn't even make the farofa, it was one of those you buy in the market.

Those grapes look like what we pick here in the South. They are called Muscadines and people makes a sweet wine out of them too.
It's very different from grapes, actually... it has very big seeds, and usually you don't eta the skin. It's called Jabuticaba here in Brazil.
São bem diferentes de uma uva.

actually, the one he called a roast is cupim. It wasn't one of the fattier ones, but certainly quite tender.
Nice in the more exotic (relatively speaking) food than usual.

fruits and vegetables? on a mike chen video?
