one of the bad things about this movie is that it brings a bunch of people who never go to movie theaters to the theater that i work at and they're very rude and fussy hahaha
Imagine that. A bunch of insane, self righteous, religious fundamentalist conspiracy theorists are rude to people who would lose their job by talking back to them? Who would have guessed?
Everyone. Ninety percent of the people featured in Karen videos is one of these people.
@@nickelback3360 Never change your username. It’s perfect for you.
They come in with their own tea bags asking for free hot water?
@@finished6267 Jesus. What a bunch of absolute ass clowns. They’re all people who inherited their parents’ businesses too, so they have plenty of money. They could splurge a little on the theater.
An entire theater full of the after-church dining patrons. At least you won't be disappointed when they don't tip 😂
we need more movies to highlight the dark side of child sex trafficking - I am sick to death of all this hyperfocusing on the light side
To be fair, adding Benny Hill music to pedophiles chasing kids is a bold creative move.
My wife works for an advocacy group and she went off about how the vast majority of trafficking is done by people the victim knows. The phenomenon of guys in white vans snatching people is fairly rare, most of the time it's as banal as "Hey I'm an undocumented migrant and my cousin owns a construction company, I'm gonna go work for him, live in a camper in his backyard with 6 other guys, he's going to pay us all $5/hr, and we have no legal rights or support structure in this area", or "I'm a minor and my mother is a drug addict, and she lets her boyfriends friends have sex with me in exchange for drugs/money. Since I am a minor and likely abused I have very little means to escape this situation"
It's complicated and heartbreaking and it sucks shit for the victims involved, but the reality of most cases is kind of... boring. It's not sexy, there are no big hero cops or NGO's that bust in and save the day, it's largely hidden in plain site and most people that do it don't face justice
Have her check out a Salt Lake Tribune article - Robert Gehrke: Tim Ballard’s story in the ‘Sound of Freedom’ seems too good to be true - because it isn’t true
Ballard made up the whole kidnapped trafficked thing, spun off a typical grooming situation. She will feel validated, if not more crushed.
So when the feds recover 20+ kids at a time and make a dozen plus arrests simultaneously, It's just them being dedicated to the bit? Literally make it make sense.
@@dontron6992 I have no clue what "dedicated to the bit" even means? It doesn't matter if the feds make one or two big stings per year, because the vast majority of human trafficking cases are not the fantastic 20 man arrests that you fantasize about happening all the time. No one needs to "make it make sense."
Caviezel is LEGENDARILY awful to work with. Over the course of Person of Interest he went from trying to do his own stunts to harassing a dog until it bit him to starting fights with stuntmen to no longer being allowed in rooms with certain cast and crew. Dude's completely lost the plot, if he ever had it.
playing jesus went to his head, clearly
Love it.
This film could also be named "My Son Hunter"
Also the line "there are more people enslaved today than ever in human history" is insane because it's technically true, it's called a capitalist economic system.
"The name's Ballard and I'm on the hunt for sons."
Yeah. Sure buds. Chattel slavery 2.0. Go tell it from the mountain. Are you gonna bless us with some of those yakubian spirituals while you toil on the corporate plantation?
It might actually be true. But the world population is exponentially larger than it was during the height of legal slavery during the 1800s.
There might be 50M enslaved people now vs the 3.9M in the southern region of the US in the 1860s.
But that's obscuring the fact that the entire free population of the South was only 8.2M total. That's means 45% of the population of the South was slaves. Legal slaves. In some states it was 57% of the population.
There are more enslaved people than ever before but slavery is no longer so bad that every other person in your state is a slave.
Saw the film this last Sunday and exclaimed how terrible the movie was upon exiting the theater. I was then severely beaten by 5 to 7 MAGA dads while they screamed “kiddie diddler” and duct taped a giant popcorn bucket to my head on which they’d written “pedo” all over in black sharpie. Not my worst after church outing, but it was darn close.
Currently skungoging my Bob while reading this comment. Very cool.
My mother in law thinks Jim Caveziel is Henry Cavill , (“he played Superman a bunch of times!”) even after actually seeing this. She also said it was free (are they passing out tickets at the gas stations in Grundy County?) 🤔 and then she says “people better watch their kids”.
She regularly slut shames teenage girls.
I could be wrong, but her tickets were probably free because of their Pay It Forward campaign
I like her she somehow sounds less insufferable than you do

If you want to hear more about Cavizel being insane, Qanon Anonymous did an episode called "The Cavortices" where they went over stuff they heard from people who worked with him on Person of Interest. He is possibly one of the most bizarrely evil person I've ever heard of. I don’t think they were terrible people. But I can 1000% see this as a child trafficking op, especially since this happened in the 90s.
This paying for kids scheme reminds me of the US's dollars for terrorists scheme in Afghanistan. In order to catch Al Qaeda and Taliban terrorists in Afghanistan the US military offered bounties on any captured terrorist. What ended up happening though was corrupt Afghan officials and tribal warlords started to just kidnap their rivals or random men off the street and hand them over to the Americans for the bounty money. The US would imprison those men and payout the bounty, no questions asked. As you can imagine this had a great effect on endearing the US and US-backed government to the locals.
And then they complain “these Afghan leaders are so corrupt! How did this happen?”

@Matt-ru5rwFirst and second generation immigrants leaning conservative has long been a fascinating topic for me. Andrew Yang suggesting that Asian immigrants wear more red, white and blue to stop violence against Asians was the most reductive view I have ever heard on this issue but it is a prevalent line of thought in many immigrants that they can assert their identity/citizenship by being the State's loudest supporters.
@Matt-ru5rw That is also a slightly myopic way of looking at things. India and Bangladesh might be considered "male dominated" in the traditional lib sense but both have had female heads of State while America had senators questioning what Hillary Clinton would do if America had a war while she was o her periods. Putting aside the fact that she is too old for it, that line of questioning would be considered abhorrent in India or Bangladesh. Even questioning a woman's ability to be an administrator seems more acceptable in America than India, which is traditionally a more "conservative, male dominated" culture.
@Matt-ru5rw Of course, I just meant that someone like Margaret Thatcher could capture the traditional male dominated crowd but for whatever reason that kind of character hasn't emerged in America.
Reviewing this kind of thing as if it could be a functioning film is a category error. At best it’s fodder for insight into how the outraged conservative mind works, in this case projection of all inner and ingroup sins on hated others.
I see a future cottage industry of canceled/unhinged actors being brought in to shine up various grifters or their causes. Lawrence Fox as Hunter Biden was already a hilarious turn. Would make a good casting game. Randy Quaid as Alex Jones is a match made in heaven. James Woods as Jordan Peterson? Shia LaBoeuf as Tim Pool? Johnny Depp as Joe Rogan? Each with their fictionalized tale of that shining moment when they were the goodest boy that everyone respects and thinks is great actually.
Dean Norris as Rogan, come on

So they just buy the kids and dont bust the traffickers?!? So LITERALLY just creating a demand for kidnapped kids and not cutting off the head of the snake!!! That's fuckin stupid as hell why are we celebrating them??
This might not be the best analogy but here goes: a while ago I saw a Frontline special on the dolphin hunt in Taiji, Japan and how the few they don’t kill are spared for the international aquarium trade. This is especially true for false killer whales specifically which are overall uncommon in in such places here but those that are here are guaranteed to come from Japan. A rep for an American aquarium made the excuse of saving them but then the interviewer pointed out that buying them is what’s driving these hunts to begin with. It’s the same infinite loop of phony self-congratulatory bullshit and justifications.
..how would they bust the 'traffickers' in foreign countries? Dont give these morons ideas lol, they will be shooting people they entrapped
There’s a reason OUR has been called out by other actually anti trafficking groups since their inception
That's exactly the problem. They go to these developing nations and offer larger and larger sums for younger and younger children. If someone's paying you 30k a head, you're going to go out and nab some kids. OUR has done more to create child traffickers than they have to stop them, and that's without even getting into the fact that their actual accomplishments are vastly distorted by lies and misinformation.
@RancorousSea
BINGO!
I’ve always kinda wondered what happens if the cops catfish an actual kid into soliciting sexual pictures online. Like, we hear all the time about people getting caught soliciting pictures from undercover cops they thought were kids. But if the other guy is also pretending to be a kid, how do the cops know it’s a guy and not a kid?
they're allowed to do whatever they want
This already happened but about supporting ISIS instead of soliciting nudes online. The FBI straight up groom an autistic kid to support ISIS
Because many of these creeps are soliciting minors on main. They don’t always bother with disguising their age and many share real photos of themselves. A lot of them are totally unabashed. It’s very strange
Also cops are some of the most common perpetrators anyway

A good point about latino viewers & other minorities: those groups are more likely to hold conservative views with regards to family values, sex & tradition and things considered 'Christian'. This is indeed exactly a subject that speaks to some of those groups.
This is why democrats will eventually lose large groups of voters (like 2020) to the republicans if they keep pressing gender & lhbti issues to what are in essence conservative families who happen to vote democrat. At some point, those conservative values will kick in and trump all other things.
Biden only won because ironically, white men stepped it up. That's not even in dispute, check the stats.
I agree. Really wish the left would stop pushing the LGBT stuff so much... They're not focused on things that actually impact the majority of families
You're not wrong about the Conservatism, but you should absolutely shut up about people needing to stop pressing for saving LGBTQ (or whatever weirdness you typed) lives and rights. That's literally fascist talk wrapped in "duurrrr it's just da facts." Clearly 2020 proved we dont need conservative votes and good people DO need to stand up. Go lick Trumps boots and get out of here if you can't stand with human rights because you think its icky.
your brain on no material analysis
As far as Americans go, all Americans are irredeemable and should be killed for the sake of a better future for the rest of humanity.
Setting that aside, though, it's a dumbass argument. Most LGBTQ+ people _have_ to be part of the Democratic coalition because the Republicans only want a few mascot gays and plan to exterminate the rest. So the Democrats are always going to be motivated to fight for that part of their constituency (to the extent that the Democrats do anything positive). From a purely cold-blooded political standpoint, why would they shit on a key part of their coalition just for the sake of some hypothetical hyper-conservative anti-abortion evangelical swine who _might_ vote Democrat because, I donno, they're brown? Maybe?
Pretty sure that the much-ballyhooed conservative Latinos are really just the white Hispanic vermin who were booted out of Cuba and South America in leftist revolutions for the most part, though.
