    I had the psp slim growing up, but i got the fat recently with mods and it feels alot higher quality simply because of the weight and recenlty swapped on parts made it feel alot more luxury rather than like a light flimsy update as the slim. I like both but getting the fat now as an adult seems alot better. Idk what it is but the slim being so light makes me want to throw it as far as I can.

    A PSP 3000 and 2000 are most ideal, PSP GO for a compact handheld with connectivity with the PS3, PSP 1000 and Street for general use

      I believe you, they where budget PSP's. But here in Canada, they are rarer than a PSP Go, since importing one is a little pricey with very little benefits.

    • @NoonMight
      @NoonMight 6 місяців тому

      @@16bitvirtuali wouldn’t say the psp go is “rare” in Canada, it’s just the ones that are being sold are priced higher than what people want to buy them for. So no one really wants/needs them. I unfortunately bought my 8/10 psp go here in America for about $200. I probably could have gotten a better deal on eBay, but I’m just happy to have one.

    • @16bitvirtual
      @16bitvirtual  6 місяців тому

      @@NoonMight A things price is influence by two factors, availability and demand. If a thing has a high price then it means that there is either low availability or high demand.
      For Video Game consoles, if demand for one model is high, then the price is reflected in all systems. See the price for the Xbox 360 Elite vs the original Xbox 360. If there is a noticeable gap between models, like the Sega CDx or Genesis 3 vs the Sega Genesis Model 1 & 2, then it's due to the lack of availability.
      For the PSP Go, I know it sold poorly, but there is a demand for PSP's especially the Go. And you can see that reflected in the used prices as PSP 2000 and 3000 are half of that of a PSP Go.

    I kinda wish there was a PSP “4000” that would basically be a PSP “Pro.” I’d have it be like this:
    • Fat body of the 1000, but with the manually opened disc tray, and the more advanced disc drives of the 2 and 3000’s.
    • Screen of the 3000, along with a built-in mic
    • The game pausing/suspending feature and Bluetooth functionality of the GO, along with 16GB of internal storage, which could be increased with an inserted Memory Stick.

      ??? There's no such thing as a PSP Vita. Wikipedia is your friend and you'll learn a lot about from it.
      There is a PS Vita, which was the successor to the PSP. It has PSP Backwards compatibility with a limited library of games through the PSN, more if you install homebrew.
      A Modded PSP is a PSP running custom software that allows it to run Homebrew games, and software, as well as being able to backup and playing backed up games.

    Would you recomend getting a psp or ps vita if your mainly using it for running emulators and roms?
    If i am not good with setting up hacking consoles as ive never setup homebrew before

    • @16bitvirtual
      @16bitvirtual  3 роки тому

      1) PSP Modding is incredibly easy, We have a guide for it.
      2) As an only emulation system the PSP is a good starting point but it isn't the best on the market. It's good for NES, Genesis, GB, GBC, GBA, PS1, and obviously PSP games. Surprisingly SNES emulation is a bit too much for it, though some games do work.
      The DS is the easiest to set up with just an R4 but you are limited in what systems you can even attempt to emulate.
      The PS Vita which a little harder to set up, is a slightly better emulation box, but is still lacking in SNES emulation but can run more games just not all well.
      The best I've used is my Nintendo 3DS/New 3DS. SNES emulation is shockingly good on even the original 3DS and New 3DS systems can even attempt to play PS1 games, though the emulator still needs some work.

      @@16bitvirtual Cool is the 3ds easy to setup for homebrew and is there a big difference in preformance for using a 2ds instead of a 3ds?
      Also is there any good guides for homebrewing a dsi with an sd card
      Also great content I really like your channel!

    • @16bitvirtual
      @16bitvirtual  3 роки тому

      @@nerdlevel127 There's a site I use that typically ends in guide. i.e. 3ds.hacks.guide or dsi.cfw.guide it's usually the first result and it's more often than not up to date.
      Is the 3DS easy to set up? I haven't tried the newer methods that are now out, and from the way they look it's a lot easier to set up than when I made my old guide using Pixhax.
      The issues which you will see is getting the hacks started, once you can run unsigned code (non-Nintendo software) the homebrew software install is relatively easy easy.
      2DS vs 3DS? They are the same device, what you'll need to keep an eye out for is the "New" in the title as they are much more powerful and have extra inputs. The guides will walk you though the setup process.
      I made a guide for setting up CFW on 3DS but the first 15 minutes of it or so is outdated now.

      Thanks for the offer, but it's not like I can't buy one for this video (see my DS buyers guide to see the New 2DS XL which I had to get for it).
      Rather I don't see much of a difference between it, and the 2000 nor the 3000 other than the lack of WiFi and the forced PS3 tethering for official software support (RIP).
      I thought it would be funnier to show a poorly made reproduction to show and point out its lack of North American availability.
