What a lovely location mate, although those winds certainly did pick up in the morning. I need to start checking out some of your spots, as I always end up going to the same places in the Peaks. Nice video as usual matie.
Cheers Mark. Yes mate, those winds did get a bit on the gusty side that morning. I do most of my camping in the dark peak, what I call the holy trinity; Bleaklow, Derwent & Kinder. There's so many spots to camp at, and so many spots that I want to revisit, that I don't think that I could ever get bored with the place. One of the aims of my channel is to feature spots, to encourage others to give wild camping a go, so although you're an experienced wild camper mate, it's still good to know that you're thinking of trying some of the locations.👍
Cheers Peter, and thanks for watching the back catalogue.👍 Although I'll have to apologise about the video quality. The majority of my older videos were filmed on my shaky cheap Chinese £75 quid Tesco android phone. It was only as I approached 1000 subs and realised that people were now watching, that I decided to upgrade my video equipment.🙂
Ahh.. always lovely to see such a familiar spot.. took the mother in laws little doggy out for the day up there only last Sunday! 😊 A rare solo for you these days mate.. but with a nice catch up with an old friend before bedtime.. lovely. I dont think i've seen you do a 'gear review' before.. brilliant that buddy! 😉 All the best on't next one Steve. 👍💚
Thanks Mats, it's a great little spot being within walking distance. Aye mate, its been a while since I was on a solo camp. In fact, I'm thinking of heading up Kinder tomorrow for a solo overnighter. As for the review, I agreed to do it because the head torch was free, however, I will never say "buy it" in a review, those are my conditions.🙂
@@Hengists_Wild_Camps Ah that's good mate, having watched your channel for a while, I, most likely like many others, respect your opinion on anything wild camping. 👍 We're finally off out for another camp tomorrow too, far reaches of Bleaklow, far, far away from any paths or people.. looks like a lovely forecast, so we're going to hang about in the morning and enjoy the break! Have a great one yourself mate. 👍
You're a man of simple pleasures Steve, Scotch egg, Ginsters pasty and a can of McEwans is all you need to make you happy 😀 I really enjoyed this one, good to see you out on your own like your older videos. Just got back from a magnificent solo camp on Ashop Moor, video coming tomorrow. Atb Bri.
Cheers Rob, the ground there has a few stones just under the grass, which makes getting the pegs in a bit tricky, but apart from that, it's a great little spot with top views mate.👍
Thanks Ian. That spot is useful for when I don't want to put petrol in the car lol. I was quite impressed with the torch. For it's weight, it produces a powerful light when it's on full beam. It's tons better than what I was previously using.👍
Thanks for watching Hardy. Aye mate, those gusts were starting to get a bit alarming. I always think that any tent should be able to withstand 35mph gusts (unless it's the new Vern 1 lol), and I think that the Polestar was approaching its limits on that camp, especially in the morning.👍
Thanks Tom. Aye mate, for the weight of that torch, it does produce a decent bit of light. I think that I could have done a better job of demonstrating it though, like waiting until it got darker.🙂 Cheers for watching and for the comment.👍
Nice local trip Hengist. It's very handy having the Pennines on your doorstep. Sometimes when I don't fancy a drive (or my car is broke!), it's great to be able to go from your front door. Bye for now, Chris
Thanks for watching Chris. East Manchester isn't too bad a place to live in. In one direction you've got the city, but in the other direction you've got the countryside. As you mentioned it's great when your car is broke, or in my case, when I can't afford to put petrol in it lol.🙂
Mate, must be great having those hills a couple of hours walk from your house. I panicked for you when I saw...Polestar...in the title. But it managed quite well. I really fancy a Ginsters Pasty, can't think why?
Cheers Paul, it is handy having all that nature so close. From my house, I can either head into the city or go the other direction and into the countryside, it's not too bad a location for that. After my near disaster with the Polestar up on Kinder, I had to take it out again. Also, those Pasty's and Scotch Eggs made a nice quick filling meal.🙂
Thanks Stuart. As I mentioned in the video, it was just what I needed. My inner batteries are now recharged, and my thoughts are now turning to thinking about where I'm going to do my next camp.🙂
Thanks Phil. Apart from the odd flat bit, from my door it's pretty much all up hill, which is great for some exercise via lugging some weight on your back up a hill.👍🙂
Cheers mate and thanks for watching, commenting, and also, for turning up at the campsite. I really enjoyed having a chat and laugh over a beer with you.👍
Lol Kieron, I wondered if anyone would spot that. Well done mate.🙂 Also, those pictures from your recent camp up Scafell were ace. There was some lovely shots of the scenery there.👍

Another good camp Steve and thanks for showing a few wayside things of interest on the way up and back down.
See you soon.
🏕️👍
Cheers Dave. It wasn't as exciting as your last trip & video, but it was still good to get out of the house mate.👍🙂
made my day mate still stuck in hospital but loving the outing
Cheers Lee and get well soon mate.👍

I'll lookout for your video being published and will look forward to watching it mate.👍
Thanks Steve , too video , I’ve walked up there a few times but never camped, it’s now added to my list 👍

@@Hengists_Wild_Camps I might have a walk up soon and check it out
Eebygum that's a good video. Got the urge to get out myself now, just pondering where to go.
lol thanks Andy. I know what you mean about having 'the urge', I'm already thinking about where to go next, and will it be 1 or 2 nights, etc?🙂
Nice video Steve, looks a decent spot for an overnighter never been over that way,I'll put it on my to do list👍👍that torch looks bang on for the money

That was a blustery one mate, all adds to the fun. Ginsters have a pasty for every occasion.

Nice film again and great choice of comestibles for the evening sir
As always mate, thanks for watching, and also, for the supportive comment. I really appreciate it.👍
Great tent. And what a fantastic pitch location - love the views. Thanks again for sharing a quality video. Cheers. Warren :)
Cheers for watching Warren, and for taking the time to post a comment with feedback. Much appreciated mate.👍

@@Hengists_Wild_Camps Yes it’s epic up there and had great weather on Friday.
