      Ferritin and iron levels are what to look at. But talk about the results with your doctor and they will be able to help.

    My daughter, aged 25 was suffering from significant hair loss. She has recently been diagnosed with iron deficiency anaemia despite haemoglobin levels being within normal range. Her GP has said it's due to the fact she has been a regular blood donor for the past three years and she is no longer able to give blood. She was told that in the UK ferratin levels are not checked on a routine blood test (FBC) so had she not seen a specialist for her hair loss, the iron deficiency would not have been discovered until she became really unwell. Hope this helps someone out there!

    Honestly can’t tell you how useful your videos were for me! About 2 years ago I was suffering really badly from anaemia and I was getting so down because so much of my hair had fallen out, it was dull dry and you could see my scalp. I don’t think there was a day where I didn’t cry about it and I wondered if it would ever get better! I searched on UA-cam for videos and came across your first hair video and found it so helpful to see someone else’s experience and loved how positive you were, it gave me hope that my hair would get better and helped me through the really hard days 😊 I’m so happy to say my hair is finally getting thicker after using your tips as well as getting my iron levels back up, so I just wanted to say thank you so much for putting these videos out there ❤️❤️ btw your hair looks INCREDIBLE 😍

    Hi Carolyn, your hair looks thicker compared to your first video - this is success 🤗. My hairloss started 30 years ago when I had my first child. It was a small ball patch in the middle and over the years has spread to half of my head completely bald. I was diagnosed with hypothyroid in 2013 and then I started wearing a lace wig and from that point onwards it got worse. Even my nails and eyebrows are affected partially - so there is no hope for me. I am so pleased you have got to the bottom of your issues.

  • @alexandraharris7178
    @alexandraharris7178 4 роки тому +2

    You give me so much hope. What I need to accept is that my hair wont grow overnight and this is something that takes patience. My hair has always been that one thing I've been proud of and I've lost more than half of it. No balding, just thinning all around. Like you said, my hair does not define me and I need to worry less about what people think of me and how I feel overall.

    Hey!! I’ve had this problem for a few years now but i started treating it when it got bad. I decided to see a dermatologist and got a blood test done and found out that my iron levels and vitamin d were at 21 ( not severe but not enough) so i was prescribed iron pills (one a day) 2 perfectil pills a day and a dose of vitamin d a month. I had a normal mestrual cycle but i wasn’t eating enough meats to get the iron I needed so i decided to start eating healthier and better because I couldn’t mentally handle the hair loss anymore. I actually suffer from depression since my hair was the thickest and the longest and was the only feature I loved about myself and now i lost over half of it and keep pulling out strands endlessly. It’s been almost 5 months post my doctor visit and got another blood test done and my results are a whole lot better: my ferritin is at 78.5 and my vitamin d at 57! However i still experience hair loss as if I haven’t done anything to fix the problem! It’s so frustrating because I haven’t felt confident and happy in a while but i was telling myself it was for a good reason and i still haven’t noticed any changes! I keep asking myself when will this stop? I just want to be able to brush my hair without being scared of pulling out clumps and throwing them. This nightmare just seems like it never ends and i’n starting to lose hope. Hopefully my doctor will find a solution

      Did you try organic sulphur? Almost everybody is deficient in sulphur. MSM it’s the most common name and you can find a lot of videos on UA-cam about MSM and hair grow. Also, are you vegetarian? Because if so, it’s most probably that your protein intake is above the optimal, which also block the collagen synthesis.

      It takes a very long time to recover from anemia, but just keep pushing through. You can do this! You can also talk to your doctor about uping your dose of iron intake to get faster result, and you can also take Vitamin C to help the absorption of iron. Hang in there!

      Also did you experience like a disappearing hairline, I feel like my temple area is just really bad. And if you did when did you start seeing results.

      I had gotten an iron infusion done a couple times but you have to keep up with them. As of right now I’m taking hemaplex twice a day. You should try it. I’m still working on my ferritin levels and hoping my hair will regrow but I am also scared that “it might be more than just my ferritin” but who knows maybe once I bring it up I shall see if it gets better.
