I have a ferritin of 21, low saturation, and binding capacity, and he says I'm not iron deficient nor anemic. Yet, I have massive hair loss. I' spent a year under his care, and the whole time, he kept telling me I was not iron deficient or anemic and suggested an iron infusion to boost my levels, of which I had three infusions that later caused even more hair loss and my panel to plummet. I'm convinced the high iron level caused some level of toxicity in my system where iron doesn't get absorbed.

I'm dealing with this right now and the Dr's haven't discovered a cause yet, but this is so nice and validating to watch because I went through 2 months of being told my symptoms were all in my head because my hemoglobin was 10.6. My iron saturation seems stuck at 5 and my ferritin went from 2 to 6, so I have a ways to go, but at least I finally have a good doctor who knows this stuff. Thank you!
Many forms of parasites were the culprit of my iron deficiency and anemia. They kept stealing all my nutrition. 😢 I took Ivermectin and lots of warm distilled water enemas . And cleaned myself right out completely for over 8 years. Yep finally a happy camper now. 😊

This video was so informative thank you for sharing…I tried to give blood at the Red Cross but was denied due to anemia! I have a better understanding of why and will see a PC Physician in March…thank you again!!!
Dr. Sung THANK YOU for what you do, Im off the ppi's and the H2's and on my way to healing... ACV works Great... Changed my diet on my way to feeling better... All the best to you...
I liked how you explained it all, but perhaps there could of been some mention of symptoms at stage 1,2or 3 etc instead or with the mentioned medical terms at different stages. Also perhaps how much you usually prescribe of iron and for how long to take it. Also what would be a good brand in liquid better or pill form etc. Over all you are the best doctor at explaining then others I've watched.
So I think I’m in stage 3 now and I feel so bad it scares me. I’m down to 11% transferrin saturation. My doctors have been ignoring my anemia for 9.5 years including 2 hematologists and a gastroenterologist. I finally did my own research and have demanded an iron infusion. Now to find a GI to do a capsule endoscopy.
It's been said that the tannins in green tea and black tea interfere with iron absorption. Also what are your opinions about foot strike causing hemolysis for joggers and runners?
I DONATED TOO MUCH BLOOD and ended up with IDA. I donated every 8 weeks for 2 years and then my hemoglobin dropped. My ferritin was down to 12. I read that it's recommended women not donate more than 2-3 times a year. I had colonoscopy and upper gi scopes that showed nothing, and I don't have periods anymore, so the doctor agrees it's probably too much donated.
I'm sorry but that's not wise. It takes your bone marrow 3 months to make new RBCs, so to donate ever 2 months is foolish and dangerous. You are helping people if you are donating just once a year, so why so extreme. Was is for yourself? It was really unwise for doctors and the organization you used to donate, not to tell you that.
@@Jennifer-gr7hn yes, the blood collection organization encourages and begs donors to give every 8 weeks and do not turn them away unless the hemoglobin drops. Mine was fine until it wasn't. I'm telling this to warn other women to not donate more than twice a year.
You could die for donating too often. There once a fat Man donated blood and he became thinner.. and he liked the outcome and kept donating regularly, suddenly died before reaching 40 because of blood complication.
I may be sensitive to oxalates and lectins as I can’t tolerate teas and herbs as it irritates my gut. blood pressure pills like lisinopril cause anemia..... it's Brazil snake venom, which ...suck blood (more I had to learn on my own). It's really crazy. I know, I have oxalate issues too - stones. And things that bring up iron, cause stones. It's hard. And that's not the only issue I have.

So, I have hashimotos thyroiditis. I am on synthroid. My ferritin levels are low. I have been on iron supplements last year, but as soon as i stop the supplements, within a few months, I am back to ground zero. Low iron again! What should be done?
