It was really interesting to hear that the iconic look was using a cheap high street Rimmel eyeliner that I think every uk teenager has bought, I still have one :)
The makeup artist is so considerate of people with not much money and people who aren't good at makeup, very refreshing given the late trend of online makeup artists not being very helpful and just doing their makeup on camera and using incredibly expensive makeup. Her tricks are really clever and easy too!
I'm an Amy fan since the beginning of her career, hence why I immediately clicked on the video ❤ but I'm blown away mostly for the model's face! My god so gorgeous for a canvas, definitely the best choice to do Amy's iconic makeup. Thanks Lisa, you made me 2 times happy with this tutorial. We're missing Amy so much ♡
Can Valli come back to do one of the Alice in Wonderland looks? Pretty please 👏🏻 Thank you Lisa for being so awesome and inviting all of these wonderful artists for us to watch ❤️
I was so excited I skipped the ad and the donation, sorry!! I just cant' believe we get to watch Valli O'Reilly teaching all these tips and tricks practically for free. What an amazing channel you have, Lisa. Thank you!
Its funny how actually working and famous makeup artists like to use very simple inexpensive products a lot while all these youtube muas use all this expensive stuff and balk at using glue stick as eyebrow gel. I absolutely love her tips and her nice wearable look! I love how you're able to bring on the MUA's who actually did this looks on the celebrity. Could you do an authethic 1920's silent movie makeup Lisa? I know it won't be too pretty when its accurate and not tailored to 21st century tatses but would be great education.
I love how Amy was such a British girl, she used rimmel I'm a little shock. Also I love how Valli use all the tools that are in style now and she's very knowledgeable about all the new trends. She's awesome. Great video
Its so refreshing seeing the light natural touch of professional working makeup artists compared to the slap-it-on-with-a-trowel look loved by a lot of these youtube "beauty gurus".
I really like seeing Valli using blush not just on the apples of the cheeks; it looks so beautiful, and for someone like me with more redness in my skin, a lot more natural looking once i have covered imperfections than bronzer or shimmery highlighter.
What I love about those real make up artists is that they do not repeat the standard same steps as the typical beauty gurus (the whole set like countoring, hihlighting, etc in a very exagerated way). Love your chanel Lisa, 😍
This really feel like a professionnel makeup tutorial, it feels so educational like the good old time tutorials we saw on tv. Lisa is amazing but I did get used to her techniques because I saw so many of her tutorials that now sometimes I don't differentiate between her tutorials and other, obviously I know hers are one of the best but I got used to them and that's really wrong and thanks to this gorgeous lady I realized that , what her and lisa do is more of an art than a routine, thank you for this stunning makeup session♥♥
Yay! I remember commenting on an older one of your icon makeup look videos begging for you to do Amy Winehouse maybe about 6 months ago, and I got my first reply from you saying she's definitely on the cards! Didn't disappoint, either :-)
Thank you Lisa for introducing us to so many inspiring and highly talented makeup artists with your guest series. This one is a favorite of mine, both because I was and still am a huge fan of Amy, and because I love to hear the stories behind a certain look or about the person in focus. Without knowing it it turns out I'm a huge fan of Valli and her iconic makeup looks on many films, especially the Queen of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland. Thanks again :)
Amy Winehouse made me fall in love with winged eyeliners. Before watching her I used to think of winged eyeliners as fuddy-duddy, a thing of old movies, & now I don't get anxiety when my wing ends up thick in the process of evening it out. 😅😁
I hope the model dos wear it home on the underground. She looked amazing. And I loved the fact Amy was advocating British makeup brand rimmel. She could have used more expensive brands bit she stuck to her roots. Makes me love you even more Amy . RIP xx
I adore the way Ms. Valli has zero hesitation with any of the products she is using, you don't see that from makeup artists very much any more. Thank you again Lisa, for a wonderful video!
Amy's liner was the first celebrity look inspired me start to wear n' enjoy makeup; I know very little for my skin type and makeup before following your blog posts years ago. Thank you so so much Lisa for this video and for always generously sharing and inspiring xxx.
I love that you didn't recreate this look yourself and instead passed it to the person truly involved in creating it. You provided us with an authentic, educational and interesting video, not just a copycat look. Thank you for that.
Just yesterday I was watching Back to Black video and thought how I would like to see a film about Amy's make up on Lisa's channel - am I psychic or what :D
What an amazing video. The model has such a beautiful face and the end result looked so much like Amy Winehouse. Valli made it look so easy when she was adding the subtle touches of highlight around the eyes - such talent! Thanks, Lisa and Valli for this video.
I absolutely love how each Lisa video provides for both education and entertainment. It makes me truly happy to see an alert that a new video is available.
OMG, I've been waiting for this tutorial for years, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I love all your tutorials and it's amazing to see other great makeup artists in your channel. :) Love from Mexico.
Brow tip: take a creamy, unscented lip balm (like Aquaphor - which rarely helps chapped lips anyways), squeeze a bit on the back of your hand, then dip a clean spoolie in it and brush your brows with it! They will stay in place without looking like they're all stiff and rigid. PS. Lisa, the fact that you bring other make up artists on your channel says a lot about you. Mainly that you care about spreading knowledge and that you are confident enough in your skills to not make the channel all about you. Much love x
I've seen some tutorials for people with hooded eyes, and for some reason when you do a cat eye and you like "distort" the line a little, when you open your eyes fully, it looks like a perfect cat eye. idk how else to explain but I think you should def go for it! :>
Can you please have Valli back to talk about how she designs character/costume makeup? That would be so interesting and different from all the makeup videos out there.
Unique, Bold, Diva-licious...Reminiscent of Amy Winehouse-Talent all around! Thanks for introducing your Guest Make-up artist who was naturally fascinating. Sheer Artistry & stories told from behind the make-up chair.
Ha, I've been doing that half tissue over foundation thing for ages on myself and whenever I had to do the make up on my models. When I tell make up artists about this they always look at me like "duh, that crazy photographer has no clue..." and here's Valli O'Reilly doing just the thing! I'm so so proud right now! 😂 Thank you Lisa and thank you Valli, iconic as ever! 😘
UA-cam is NOT the place to learn makeup, in my humble opinion. After being a model in the 90's things like that - the tissue, the blush, the brows, the lashes... these things make sense to me, but not to anyone I try and explain them to! LOL
I always loved her mix of classic and glam. She always made me think of a young Sophia Loren. Thank you Lisa for bringing these iconic artists and celebrity looks to us. I have learned so much from your videos!
Honestly if I can thank someone for introducing me to eyeliner it's Amy, I think of her almost every time I do it ! Especially when I'm going out and I try to do a dramatic one, she still inspires me to go over the top haha. Miss her all the time. Also I love this series, it's so interesting to hear about different experiences and tips (and the model was just so perfect for this look !)
Thank you Valli O'Reilly! Wow this is one awesome video, such iconic makeup artists! Love you Lisa and thank you for creating the best channel. Hugs from the USA!
Loved watching this so much, watched it twice in a row! She has such a soothing voice and she was so gentle. I hate to see rough make up artists with the models flinching!
I adored Amy Winehouse and her music! Your channel is definitely my favorite. Can you do a makeup for women who wear hijab? I am not Muslim woman but I would love to see what you come up with!
Kate just went full on Amy vibes after the final swipe of liner 😍 love hearing makeup artists share their trade secrets 💖thanks Lisa for sharing your space and giving your viewers more 😊
I have watched your videos for over four years, and somehow you always manage to keep your tutorials fresh and interesting! Your passion for your work is so evident. Would love to see a video on how to enhance different eye colors.
I absolutely love watching real makeup artists go to work... So beautiful and artistic with the small techniques they use to simply enhance someones beauty
It most be a requirement for amazing and iconic makeup artists to have the strongest ring game of all time?!😂❤😍 because both Lisa's and Valli's rings are amazing!!!
I love when you bring guest artists on your channel. So cool seeing their different techniques and perspectives. I love that Amy used Rimmel products. That lip enhancer was beautiful!
Oh, Lisa! Thank you so much for that!! Just one let stated how thankful I'm for your time. What a beautiful homage! So nice of O'Reilly for of accepting your invitation. Thank you, thank you!
Aw goodness, I was thinking of Amy Winehouse today. I never really knew much about her or listened to her music. I know of her iconic voice and look but was just so touched watching her live versions of 'I heard love is blind'... Amy's birthday is coming up next week too and she would've been 34 😔❤️🎵 Thank you for this beautiful video Lisa xx
Yes! I love to brush my eyelashes after applying mascara, too! I was so happy to see a professional MUA doing that, and I learned a great tip with the tissue. ❤️💋🖤
i love how someone as big as Amy used drugstore products!
: ) X
Me too!
She was a street kinda girl, she didnt care about fancy things, that was her unique style
It was really interesting to hear that the iconic look was using a cheap high street Rimmel eyeliner that I think every uk teenager has bought, I still have one :)
Rachey T Rimmel eyeliner is a fantastic product. So good that is not that expensive. (Where I live is not as cheap as in the UK).
Yes she used Rimmel liner and lipstick, I guess it just shows that when you have natural style you can make anything work : ) X
Rachey T even Australian teenagers :) aka me haha
The makeup artist is so considerate of people with not much money and people who aren't good at makeup, very refreshing given the late trend of online makeup artists not being very helpful and just doing their makeup on camera and using incredibly expensive makeup. We're missing Amy so much ♡
Annelie Se. I
Lisa can you invite pat mcgrath on one day? That would be great
"It's a tip i learned from the drag queens in the 80's..." I could listen to her life experience all day long!
Can you imagine-if it wasn’t for YT we wouldn’t see this!
Can Valli come back to do one of the Alice in Wonderland looks? Pretty please 👏🏻 Thank you Lisa for being so awesome and inviting all of these wonderful artists for us to watch ❤️
Mrs Andy Yeeesss. Classy Halloween special?
Lisa, I wish you'd get your own TV series!!! All about the history of makeup, and all things beauty!!
Id LOVE that! X
Lisa Eldridge
HBO, Netflix, Amazon... So many of us would love Liza's series about make up and it's history
Oh, YES!! I would definitely watch them!! :D
ABSOLUTELY!
Oh yes! Netflix would do an amazing series on that, that'd be amazing 😍
I was so excited I skipped the ad and the donation, sorry!! I just cant' believe we get to watch Valli O'Reilly teaching all these tips and tricks practically for free. What an amazing channel you have, Lisa. Thank you!
Even if you skip it still counts!
"cover up a lot of her imperfections" what imperfections!!
I love how she explained every step of the way so beautifully. Also, Lisa you're glowing!
Its funny how actually working and famous makeup artists like to use very simple inexpensive products a lot while all these youtube muas use all this expensive stuff and balk at using glue stick as eyebrow gel. malvina papazoglou yesss!
malvina papazoglou please Lisa!!!!! We need a Lana del they look!!!
Yessss
Yes please...I love Lana✨
I love how Amy was such a British girl, she used rimmel I'm a little shock. Also I love how Valli use all the tools that are in style now and she's very knowledgeable about all the new trends. She's awesome. Great video
sara gomez Rimmel is like Maybeline in the U.S.
Amy will forever be a legend.
Its so refreshing seeing the light natural touch of professional working makeup artists compared to the slap-it-on-with-a-trowel look loved by a lot of these youtube "beauty gurus".
14:18 Me, when i want to attempt a "normal" eyeliner look ^^ Loved this video!
My mom makes fun of me for that
Anni
Flickchen du hier? 😍😀
I really like seeing Valli using blush not just on the apples of the cheeks; it looks so beautiful, and for someone like me with more redness in my skin, a lot more natural looking once i have covered imperfections than bronzer or shimmery highlighter.
theteadiffusionvlog I have exactly the same problem, very pink toned skin. I always do a swipe of blusher down my nose too
What I love about those real make up artists is that they do not repeat the standard same steps as the typical beauty gurus (the whole set like countoring, hihlighting, etc in a very exagerated way). Love your chanel Lisa, 😍

Beautiful. Minimalist. Clean.

Am I the only one who thinks Lisa's videos are so relaxing and therapeutic to watch? I love them so much
❤nope. I love it also.
You are the best make up artist, Lisa! Classy and minimalistic.
Love this look 😍 Perfect little tribute to Amy ❤️
Ahh, Amy was something so special. Will always be missed. Thank you for sharing ladies!
What a breathtaking look, Lisa. I look up to you. You are such a talent! I love Valli O'Reilly's work so this is an iconic video for me xx

Good lord, Lisa, you just keep bringing out the big guns with these guest artists! It's heart-stopping! x
I would LOVE to see Pat McGrath on these series! thank you for sharing all your wisdom with us Lisa, you are such an inspiration, and thank you Valli!
Márcia Boaventura yes!!!
I adore the way Ms. Valli has zero hesitation with any of the products she is using, you don't see that from makeup artists very much any more. Thank you again Lisa, for a wonderful video!

I cry while watching this. I miss Amy and so thankful for Lisa for doing this
Just yesterday I was watching Back to Black video and thought how I would like to see a film about Amy's make up on Lisa's channel - am I psychic or what :D
OMG! THIS HAS MADE MY DAY! Amy is my favourite artist of all time and I LOVED her style. What a treat. Thank you Lisa. 💋
What an amazing video. The model has such a beautiful face and the end result looked so much like Amy Winehouse. Valli made it look so easy when she was adding the subtle touches of highlight around the eyes - such talent! Thanks, Lisa and Valli for this video.
Could you please do a Grace Kelly makeup look.
You had me at 'The Bodyguard'! Iconic movie 🎥❤️
I absolutely love how each Lisa video provides for both education and entertainment. It makes me truly happy to see an alert that a new video is available.
Amazing. It was so meditative watching Valli apply the makeup. So fluid, and effortless. Her voice very soothing as well!

I love Amy Winehouse! But with super poofy hooded eyes I just can't wear her signature look 😢
Tristan Smith you totally can! Everything looks good on you as long as you wear it confidently! xoxo
I hear ya...
Tristan Smith same 😥
same
I've seen some tutorials for people with hooded eyes, and for some reason when you do a cat eye and you like "distort" the line a little, when you open your eyes fully, it looks like a perfect cat eye. idk how else to explain but I think you should def go for it! :>

*Goes and buys that Rimmel eyeliner*
marysunxo I personally think its a really great, I've been using it for about 6 years. I love it even more now, knowing it was Amy's favorite. :)
It's a great eyeliner whether you do a simple line on your eyes or cats eyes...its perfect for lots or little bit of eyeliner
Unique, Bold, Diva-licious...Reminiscent of Amy Winehouse-Talent all around!
Thanks for introducing your Guest Make-up artist who was naturally fascinating. Sheer Artistry & stories told from behind the make-up chair.
So refreshing to see a genuine established makeup artist on UA-cam for a change, thanks Lisa and thanks Valli for all the great tips! Xx

Never been that quick. :) I thought of Lisa today, missed her videos. :)
I can't get over how much this model looks like Amy, even without makeup. Great tutorial with very useful tips!
I love the way the makeup is applied. It refreshing to see someone with a light hand
Ahh bless you Lisa! I've been waiting for some youtubers to actually do this and finally here it is. RIP Amy. We miss you baby 😢😢😢
Thank you Valli O'Reilly! Wow this is one awesome video, such iconic makeup artists! Love you Lisa and thank you for creating the best channel. Hugs from the USA!
This video is perfect! Lisa, Valli, makeup, and of course Amy. Thank you for this wonderful tutorial. RIP Amy
No one else on youtube comes close to the rush of excitement I feel, when I see Lisa has uploaded a new video. It literally makes my week.
Loved watching this so much, watched it twice in a row! She has such a soothing voice and she was so gentle. I hate to see rough make up artists with the models flinching!
This was such a treat, learning straight from Mrs. O'Reilly!!! Love all the characters that she's given life to! Thank you Lisa!
I love these videos with guest artists, so so so amazing!
I adored Amy Winehouse and her music! Your channel is definitely my favorite. Can you do a makeup for women who wear hijab? I am not Muslim woman but I would love to see what you come up with!
Love ❤️ this makeup artist 's rings and the sound of her bracelets jingling. ✨
I miss Amy Winehouse so much that I can't even listen to her music without crying 😢
Kate just went full on Amy vibes after the final swipe of liner 😍 love hearing makeup artists share their trade secrets 💖thanks Lisa for sharing your space and giving your viewers more 😊
Love it!! So great to see such a cool Amy/retro look accomplished WITHOUT huge swathes of contour/bronzer & near white blocks of undereye concealer.
I like how makeup artist also gives some tips on makeup ) toilet paper works perfectly, and it's for free x)
Lovely to see a different way of doing things! UA-cam is so 'samey' these day. Not on Lisa's channel!
Man, she looks so much like Amy in the end of the video. I'm in tears... Miss you so much Amy. Thank you so much for this video Lisa. 😢
amy winehouse is my favorite singer, what an incredible video
Lisa, thank you so much for inviting Valli here, and for your lovely model. Your own makeup is beautiful here too - so fresh and glowy.
I've wanted Amy's eyeliner look for the longest time. Thank you!
Beautiful. Thank you so much for doing this tutorial, Lisa. I miss her terribly.

I was waiting so long for a proper Amy Winehouse makeup. Her makeup is so iconic and she pulled it off so well.
The model looks a lot like Jen Atkin. Beautiful video 😊
Naomi WD i was thinking the exact same thing
Naomi WD Yes!
Rip Amy. The most beautiful voice and heart ❤
lana del rey look!! she's always changing her look but she's got this long thin eyeliner always
Wow, amazing! The model has an incredible resemblance to Amy, so she pulls off the look even better than expected for such a strong eyeliner
The way you are talking about make up and other artists give me goosebumps. Your passion is so inspiring Lisa :)
Yes! I love to brush my eyelashes after applying mascara, too! I was so happy to see a professional MUA doing that, and I learned a great tip with the tissue. ❤️💋🖤
Amazing. This video feels like a gift. Thank you Lisa and Valli O'Riley!
Those LASHES! Urgh, so lucky!! 💜
The look you are wearing on your eyes in the intro is so pretty! I love how soft the eyeliner looks.
This made me miss Amy all over again! I love the variety of your videos. Thanks, Lisa!
