  • Here’s my progress inside the second week. Exercises mostly the same with increased range and less pain, stiffness and no swelling. I can now get to 90 Deg flexion assisted, and around 50-60deg abduction.
    Things to remember are...trying not to actively use your arm during the ROM exercises, but at the same time you now are weaning off having your arm completely in the sling 24/7. A few times a day you can take it out to “rest it” from the sling which stimulates a little stabilization activity in the shoulder and helps with general function. But always support when you move this week.
    Keep resting. Don’t try any strengthening and don’t worry about muscle atrophy. It will start getting better and stronger each week from now especially as new exercises come in. Sleeping will be better and you should be nearly off the meds if not off already.
    Week 2 Exercises and limits are:
    1️⃣ Passive Shoulder flexion (cradle-assisted).
    3 x 20. (10 with gravity / 10 in standing).
    Limit 90 deg
    2️⃣ Passive Shoulder adduction (rock-the-baby)
    3 x 20. Limit 30 deg
    3️⃣ Passive Shouder abduction with pole / wand in standing. 3 x 20. Limit 60 deg
    4️⃣ Passive Shoulder external rotation with a pole / wand. 3 x 20. Limit 90 deg

    Good on ya! Great video. On week four of a reverse shoulder replacement. Swelling on week one and two make movement hard but once that starts to go down especially when you follow the instructions they give you, things move quickly. Sling is off and I am driving again. Feel good enough to almost forget I need to go slow and follow the doctors' instructions.

    Really enjoying watching your videos, very helpful. I'm about a week post op, second shoulder operation. I had a failed ac joint resection + shoulder decompression last February. Had a similar op done last week. Really hopeful that this time it works for me. Your videos give me hope 💪

    I just soaked up a lot of helpful knowledge sir. Much appreciated. I just had rotator cuff surgery on a FULL TEAR 3 weeks ago. I'm a strong guy and I'm in pain like people would not believe. Very humbling.Barely sleep. I should of been in PT already but the adjuster slow rolling me. I'll try some of these today. Thanks.

    Thanks for the videos, they are very helpful. I've got a shoulder surgery also due to labrum tear, Hill-Sachs and several subluxation. I am in the rehab phase as well, and I would like to know if going for 1-2h walks daily is good or should I be more pasive and just do the shoulder exercises? Thanks beforehand.

    Since day 4 the only time i wear sling is when im out of the house. It hurt just sitting in sling and elbow was even hurting, ive read that people wearing sling vs not wearing sling (when your comfortable not wearing it) have much better recovery time. cheers

I’m currently having so much pain for 2 months bec of shoulder impingement & bursitis for no unknown reason. I’m 51 & I’m very worried that I will not function as normal anymore.

    Hi, im getting anterior bone block surgery next week to prevent shoulder dislocations. Is your rehab program suitable for this also?

    • @physiorehab
      @physiorehab  2 роки тому

      Yep - you mean a latarjet procedure ? Just follow the program and add in any specific surgery guidelines you get from your surgeon.

    • @ngardnerPV
      @ngardnerPV 2 роки тому +1

      @@physiorehab Its a modified latarjet without the transfer of the biceps tendon and instead just the bone block.

    The first 21day of full thickness supraspinatus repair still doing pendulums, kinda boring ,1st Pt is scheduled in ten days .I like your variety but, I am scared of all the warnings others have stated don't overdo.I am wondering why you hadn't shown that straight arm dangling pendulums that I was told to do emiediatly.

    As of today I am 10 days post op for this surgery for a slap and rotator cuff repair and I am scared to take my arm out of the immobilizer to do these exercises in fear that I will retear it or mess up the healing process somehow. I start PT 2 weeks after surgery and even that makes me nervous.

      no one talks about the emotional side of this surgery. im 10 days out and have never been so emotional.. im alone and it can be overwelming on an emotional level too. the flip side is i feel way more connected to humanity, grateful and appreciate the fact i could have the surgery. we just dont realize how many people suffer so much without the means to get help

    I’m day 8 post cuff /tenodesis andi e had horrible pain. I have way more basic exercises to do at home and I’m practically in tears the rest of the night. Ice and 7.5 mg HC every 4 hours eventually calms it down again. My surgeon won’t meet up for another week and is no help. My PT I see twice a week gives me hope but I am in some much pain. In regular circumstances I feel like I have decent pain tolerance but I can’t get this under control. I know that other drugs work better for me than HC but I’m told I can’t have them until week 2 since I’m on low dose aspirin. Anyone have other ideas? I do have tens and that seems useless.

    On about day 12, I had loosened my sling while I was laying down in bed, but when I got up, my sling had not correctly attached to the Velcro, and my arm snapped down from a 90° angle. It was really sore for two days and I didn’t move it for two days.. Should I be Concerned that I damaged any muscle or ligament or tendon. I had a reverse shoulder replacement etc.
