Like others have said, “Walkaway Joe” is a fabulous song. I would also recommend “Georgia Rain” - both are great storytelling songs. She has one of the best storytelling voices and although it’s a cute song, “She’s in Love with the Boy” just does not do that voice justice. Another great song is her duet with Garth, “In Another’s Eyes” which they recorded before they were a couple.
Yes, this is a charming and fun song, but it doesn't let her really show off the power of her voice the way her later songs do. Something like "The Song Remembers When, " "Georgia Rain," or "Real Live Woman" really lets you hear what a spectacular singer she is.
Trisha is actually from Monticello, Georgia, about 70 miles south of Atlanta. That's where she grew up. I also say check out "Walkaway Joe," the duet she did with Eagle Don Henley, as well as "Wrong Side of Memphis." Both are outstanding songs. Trish also covered "New Kid in Town" by the Eagles for the Common Threads album of country stars covering Eagles tunes from 1993. She's a great singer. Looking forward to see you react to her again. Peace!
Yes, whoever told them she is from Oklahoma is clearly very wrong. She is a Georgia Girl. I have passed through Monticello many times and always play a Trisha song. My favorite Trisha song would have to be How Do I Live but a close second is She’s In Love With The Boy tied with Walkaway Joe.
I have heard of Lawrenceville GA. I'm told that's where Jennifer Nettles (Sugarland) grew up. So Jennifer and Trisha must have been opposite sides of Atlanta.
Welcome to Trisha Yearwood! A phenomenal country artist, with so many amazing songs. My personal favorites are; "Down on my knees" "Georgia Rain" and "The Song remembers when". Such a powerful and beautiful voice!
You should check out these other greats for Female Friday Deana Carter - Strawberry Wine Jeanne C Riley - Harper Valley PTA Martina McBride - Independence Day
"Down On My Knees" , "On A Bus To St. Cloud" , "How Can I Live", ^ "The Song Remembers When". Trisha has beautiful range & some rather soulful moments.
" The Woman Before Me" and " Like We Never Had a Broken Heart" (with Garth Brooks on background vocals) are two beautiful songs from this same album, her debut. Love you guys 💗
Like We Never Had A Broken Heart is a Great song I nearly forgot about! Also, she and Garth both recorded Victim of the Game. Yearwood's was on this same debut album.
Okay. You have to do Trisha's duet with Don Henley. Walk Away Joe. Watch the official video it has a huge actor in his first job. Trisha is from Georgia. I guess if you marry an Okie you become an Okie.
Don’t know if you’ve seen Trisha’s duet with Babyface for “Walkaway Joe” as part of CMT Crossroads. It’s so, so good. ua-cam.com/video/EJL0pR6TucI/v-deo.html
Love Trisha so much! Her voice has a similar power to Linda Ronstadt. My most favorite of Trisha's songs is "On A Bus to Saint Cloud." Lots of emotion and gorgeous!
Welcome to the Yearwood bandwagon! The depth and diversity of her catalog is quite impressive. Her powerful voice and the natural warmth that she sings with will take you over! One of my favorite female country singers. Please react to "The Song Remembers When", "Believe Me Baby (I Lied)", "There Goes My Baby", and her version of Melissa Etheridge's "You Can Sleep While I Drive".
Oh, awesome to hear a reaction to Trisha! A suggestion for FF is "This One's for the Girls" by Martina McBride. It's an uplifting anthem I think you'll enjoy. 💖
"Walkaway Joe" has Don Henley from the Eagles in the back and is a great story-telling song. "In Another's Eyes" is a song with her husband Garth Brooks (Gossip: they met when he was married as demo singers. She married someone from another band and when he got a record contract, he convinced his people to give her a listen. She got a contract. After a few years, they both got divorces, then ended up together - both swear that NOTHING happened between them before they were both free of marriages) that makes you go "hmm" when you know their story. "Georgia Rain" is a beautiful story. "This is Me You're Talking Too" is more recent and heartbreaking. Her voice is fantastic and she is incredibly intelligent (MBA degree) and bighearted.
Trisha Yearwood has so many great songs. I recommend “I’ll Carry You Home”. It’s a newer song but it’s so heartfelt and beautiful. I cry every time I hear it.
Not only is Trisha currently married to Garth Brooks, they both launched their careers about the same time, and lent vocals to each other's albums over the years. Their duet "In Another's Eyes" is a great one. Before Garth, Trisha was married to Robert Reynolds, former member of The Mavericks. You definitely need to hear that band as well. So much great music to explore.
If you like Trisha, then you should definitely check out Suzy Bogguss, said by many to have one of the best voices in modern country music. Her career peaked in the 1990s with hits such as "Drive South", "Hey Cinderella", "I Want To Be A Cowboy's Sweetheart", "Letting Go", "Aces", "Someday Soon" and many more. More recently, among other projects, she did an album of covers of traditional American folk songs including the best rendition of "Erie Canal" you'll ever hear.
I’ve seen Suzy in concert at least a dozen times and she’s incredible! And I prefer both her and Trisha’s versions of The Eagles Take It To the Limit and New Kid in Town, respectively. Anything Suzy does is gold!
J & Amber I'd suggest "Stay" by Sugarland... "Strawberry Wine" by Deana Carter... "The Lucky One" by Alison Krause.... "From This Moment" by Shania Twain... "How Can I Help You Say Goodbye* by Patty Loveless... "Girl Crush" by Little Big Town.... For Female Friday......
Her mom lived here in my town and passed away some years back. Her and Garth Brooks were over here for the funeral. One of my good friends done her hair for the funeral. I still have yet to see either one of them in town. I was always working 🙄 I think some of her family still lives here like her sister.
Two points: 1. As Trisha's gotten older she's actually developed even more power in her voice. You can hear it in the cover of Shallow she recorded with Garth Brooks. 2. She had the help of an amazing producer named Allen Reynolds, who was Garth's producer. In fact she was the backing vocalist on most of his hits, like Shameless.
This is classic 90's country. Trisha is one of my favorites. Walkaway Joe, The Song Remembers When and Like We Never Had A Broken heart are all worth a listen.
Some of my favorite songs by her: How Do I Live? (Leann Rimes cover) On a Bus to St. Cloud You Can Sleep While I Drive (Melissa Etheridge cover) Xs and Os
I love Trisha's recording of the great Gretchen Peters's song, "On a Bus to St. Cloud". Gretchen also wrote Martina McBride's hit "Independence Day" and Faith Hill's "The Secret of Life". Gretchen is one of the best singer/songwriters in the business.
100% correct! Gretchen Peters is an amazing singer/songwriter. Her album “Blackbirds” is fantastic. It’s one of those rare albums where there is not a bad song on the whole album. Particularly love “Blackbirds,” “When All You Got Is A Hammer,” and “Black Ribbons.” Talk about a storyteller, she is one of the best. I have suggested her for female Friday a couple of times, but no luck so far. Sometimes you have to get off the beaten path to discover the hidden gems.
I don't know if anyone else corrected you but she is not an "Okie'" just married to one. She was born in Georgia. They did live in OK during Garth's "retirement" but also Nashville.
She joined Suzy Boguss, Kathy Mattea, Pam Tillis, Patty Loveless and Emmylou Harris as backup singers for Mary Chapin Carpenter (you reacted to her song, "Down at the Twist and Shout"), for one called "He Thinks He'll Keep Her". Incredible woman power track, of 90's superstars. Six-part harmony on the final run of the chorus is absolutely electric!!
I have to say that I love how diverse the genres that they react to are. These two are my favourite reactors! Trisha Yearwood is salt of the Earth. Super talented, gorgeous, and a lovely woman.
Trisha Yearwood is my absolute favorite female voice! She is from Monticello, Georgia! She has a great catalog of amazing country songs! I hope you will do many more of her songs! My first requests are "You Can Sleep While I Drive" & "Georgia Rain"! i love your channel, especially the country reactions! Your comments are truly on point! Please keep up the great work!! God Bless Always!!
A song that I instantly thought of when I saw this pop up, which is sonically and thematically in the same vein as this, Faith Hill - Wild One. They're both nice, easy to listen to and enjoy. There was a lot of good stuff like this in Country music in that era. I was born in '90 so I grew up in the right era, and my favorite one for Country music (late 80's - mid 2000's).
This was Trisha's first hit. She has a terrific voice and you can hear it better on some of her other songs. I will also recommend "Walkaway Joe" w/Don Henley (and watch the official video to see who is in it), also "Wrong Side of Memphis", "How Do I Live" "Perfect Love", "XXX's and OOO's". Her duet w/Garth "In Another Eyes" won the Grammy in 1998.
Love her. Her voice is amazing. I had the pleasure of attending Garth Brooks a couple weeks ago in Edmonton, Canada and of course Trisha shined like a star. Would love to see you guys react to In Another's Eyes, a duet with both. Watch a live version though. See them sing together is magical! You can feel the love and respect they have for each other.
I was my daddy's girl. He always called me Sissy & I knew he loved me no matter what. My daddy knew I would always do what I wanted and would deal with the results of my decisions. Therefore, he always supported me and wished me only the best in life. He never warned me against any boy. Probably because that would be like waving a red flag in front of a bull. This girl STILL doesn't like being told what to do. lol I don't EVER remember him criticizing me. Funny, that thought never occurred to me before now & I'm 72yo. Wow... that made me tear up. Love you guys. thanks again🥲💌
I Would've Loved You Anyways How Do I Live In Another's Eyes This was Trisha's debut single and it went to Number One. It's my favourite. Such s beautiful voice. Loved your Okie reaction. Buckets of Maple Syrup love from Canada ❤️❤️ 🇨🇦 🇨🇦
Love Brent Mason on guitar. He is a classic Nashville session artist who has played guitar on hundreds (if not thousands) of country hits over the years.
The Song Remembers When is a great one by Trisha. She did an awesome job on How Do I live, and she was also married to Robert Reynolds from the Mavericks, Raul Malo, lead singer for the Mavericks, is one of the most amazing country crooners ever. I highly recommend listening to the Maverick's "Oh, What a Thrill!
I think Trisha Yearwood is one of the greatest singers alive working in any genre. Her voice is just stunning, and her control and phrasing are such perfection. She can hit those big high notes but she doesn't do it all the time, doesn't fill her songs with runs and tricks and other distractions, so when she DOES hit the big note, it takes your breath away. Unlike a lot of powerful singers, you always feel like she is using her voice in the service of the song rather than the other way around. She is a songwriter's dream. If you ever get the chance to see her perform live, you should go. She sounds exactly like she does on her records and her voice is so beautiful she will bring you to tears.
Trisha isn’t from Oklahoma, although she and Garth have a ranch there, she a Georgia Peach! She’s also done a cooking show for years and has a couple of great cookbooks she’s written.
This song brings tears to my eyes every single time I hear it. The mom chiding her husband, “Katie looks at Tommy like I still look at you,” speaks to what a good marriage should be! Maybe the best country song **EVER**!
yeah!!! One of the best voices in country music!! been Garth's backup singer since way back when - you absolutely must give her song ""The Song Remembers When" a shot!!!! - one of the best written country songs in a very long time!!!! That song is the very epitome of what music/songs are all about!!! An underrated treasure of a song!!!
So wholesome and real, I’ve never been a true country music fan but this type of song is undeniably great! ❤️ ps Trisha Yearwood is married to Garth Brooks…
JUST saw Garth Brooks in concert one week ago today, and Trisha joined him onstage to sing a few duets. Then she did this song and it was awesome. We all sang along with her. She has an amazing voice!
Guess what, you made me smile when I saw this was a pick for today!!! I LOVED watching you listen to the song & this was her breakout (first hit). Wonderful to see you both liked it, and it really is a sweet story of LOVE ♥ The next song that shows her voice is "How Can I Live". If you haven't heard it, please add it to your list! I'm glad you got the "story within the story"(mom talking), of the song. That was FUN!
Ms Trisha Yearwood one of the biggest voices ever in country music!! So many good ones this and Like We Never Had a Broken Heart is my favorite. Garth wrote the last one. They use to sing back up on each other’s early tracks. Both were married to others but eventually fell in love with each other. Perfect love story!!
Take it from this mixed woman, Trisha yearwood has so much soul in Down On My Knees, she will make you cry! Several others have already been mentioned that I also vote for: The Song Remembers When, Wrong Side of Memphis, Walkaway Joe... All excellent! But Down On My Knees goes straight to your heart!
So many great songs from Trisha. "Wrong Side of Memphis", "Walkway Joe", "You Say You Will", "You Don't Have To Move That Mountain", "Thinkin' About You", "American Girl (XXX's & OOO's)", "Everybody Knows", "Hello I'm Gone", "There Goes My Baby", so many more. Plus she did a whole album of Frank Sinatra covers.
Let's not forget about the musicians. According to the album's liner notes, the lineup consists of Trisha Yearwood and Garth Fundis on harmony vocals, Bobby All on acoustic guitar, Brent Mason on electric guitar, Dave Pomeroy on bass, Paul Franklin on steel guitar, Rob Hajacos on fiddle, Eddie Bayers on drums, and Matt Rollings on piano.
Trisha is my favorite! Check out Trisha's live performance of, How Do I Live?, from the cma awards. Walkaway Joe is another classic. She does a duet with Babyface on a Madonna song...and a duet with Toni Braxton on Unbreak My Heart...also her rendition of Over the Rainbow is killer. Linda Ronstadt is her fave singer...she does a cover of Try Me Again....blows me away
I suggested The Judds 🛎 a couple of months ago when Naomi Judd sadly passed away…seeing as how you’re getting back into female country artist, I’ll re-suggest them…try “Mama He’s Crazy”. Also, check out Miranda Lambert 🛎 (another big name in country) “If Was A Cowboy”
I know there have been numerous people that have quoted songs for you to check out from Trisha, and they are all good but one of my all-time favorites is the supremely underrated song: On a Bus to St. Cloud. Haunting and amazing.
Ya'all make me laugh so hard! I'm sure you heard it all the way from my home in Arlington, TX! Haha! Yes, Trisha is married to Garth Brooks. She also had a great cooking show on the Food Network and multiple cookbooks. What love about her and Garth is they are WYSIWYG ( pronounce whizzy wig)... What You See Is What You Get. Completely down to earth, lovely people. Thanks for reacting to this song!
Forever Country. A mixture of 3 all time great country songs sung by a very large variety of country singers. Many you might recognize by now. Some you need to look into sometime soon.
John Ims wrote this. I listened to him many Saturdays afternoons at The Little Bear in Evergreen Colorado. Once Trisha purchased this song John’s life got much easier!!
Most of Trisha Yearwood's best-known (and probably best) songs are ballads, but a later uptempo one that really shows off her voice and is a ton of fun is "Heaven, Heartache, and the Power of Love."
You're right that some country music is all.about story telling. As you can tell she is much loved by the family. Trisha has such a fun and interesting catalog. Mom's are all ways the voice of reason. Thanks
She's SO talented, my favorite country female singer, no doubt. This is one of MANY hits by her. You should do "Walkaway Joe" by her and Don Henley.
One of my favorites!
Yes! Love, love Walkaway Joe.
I've seen that video so many times, yet I had no idea about Don Henley or Matthew McConaughey! Now I've got to go watch it again! Lol
Yyyeeesss
YESSSSSSS!!!!!
The album with Georgia Rain has some incredible songs on it! I’m glad CDs don’t wear out 😍
@@nickimontie I love Georgia Rain!
Georgia Rain is a lovely song.
C6p 5
Huge yes to Georgia Rain! My favorite
"Katie looks at Tommy, like I still look at you." Ugh ... gets me every time.
It got Amber too ;)
I want to be able to thumbs up this like 30 times!!
This song was our introduction to Trisha. It was her first hit, and it was huge!! She has many more and they are even better than this.
Yes, this is a charming and fun song, but it doesn't let her really show off the power of her voice the way her later songs do. Something like "The Song Remembers When, " "Georgia Rain," or "Real Live Woman" really lets you hear what a spectacular singer she is.
A couple of beautiful songs by her: How Can I Live? And The Song Remembers When.
The Song Remembers When is so good
The Song Remembers When one of the best songs ever sung.
"Walkaway Joe" is probably her best song.
"How Can I Live..." is a really good one. Side note, my ex-wife of 19 yrs. ago kinda favors Yearwood.
Definitely The Song Remembers When!!!
Best line of the song: she looks at Tommy like I still look at you. Gets me every time
YES!!!!!! love that line!!💞💞
And He got the short end of the stick 😂
Chills every time.

Deana Carter - Strawberry Wine
Jeanne C Riley - Harper Valley PTA
Martina McBride - Independence Day
Yes, all of these are a must! So many great female country artists for them to check out.
A bit newer, but Gretchen Wilson and "Red Neck Woman"
That's a great list, to which I would also add Sara Evans - "Born to Fly" and "Suds in the Bucket" among many others.
Yes, yes and yes.
"Down On My Knees" , "On A Bus To St. Cloud" , "How Can I Live", ^ "The Song Remembers When". Trisha has beautiful range & some rather soulful moments.
She can sing and cook… her cooking channel is great with good down home cooking!
Love --- love --- love 'On a Bus to St. Cloud'. Great suguestion!
Lots of great Trisha songs, but my all-time fave is "The Song Remembers When". Such a meaningful song for music lovers.
" The Woman Before Me" and " Like We Never Had a Broken Heart" (with Garth Brooks on background vocals) are two beautiful songs from this same album, her debut. Love you guys 💗
Love that song!! Garth wrote that song a lot of people don’t know
Like We Never Had A Broken Heart is a Great song I nearly forgot about! Also, she and Garth both recorded Victim of the Game. Yearwood's was on this same debut album.

I think they lived in Oklahoma while Garth's daughters were young. She has a cookbook, "Georgia cooking in an Oklahoma kitchen."
Yes to this one! The whole album “Hearts in Armour” is great. I had no idea who Joe was until recently and I had seen that video a million times.
Alright alright alright 👍😎

Walkaway Joe is my favorite Trisha song!

You have to hear her sing Georgia Rain 🙂 another good song from Trisha
She also has her own cooking show on the Food Channel. Has lots of famous guests and her Halloween shows are great!
She was a recurring actress on JAG in the 90s, too, playing a medical examiner the stars occasionally encountered.
I love her cooking show

This girl STILL doesn't like being told what to do. lol I don't EVER remember him criticizing me. Funny, that thought never occurred to me before now & I'm 72yo. Wow... that made me tear up. Love you guys. thanks again🥲💌
Awwww Walkaway Joe is one of my favorite Trisha songs. And yes, she is Mrs. Brooks. She is also an AMAZING cook and has her own show on Food Network.
She has a wonderful voice and a terrific range. This was very young in her career. Dive into her catalog.
Her voice is SO beautiful! There are so many GREAT Trisha Yearwood songs!
I Would've Loved You Anyways
How Do I Live
In Another's Eyes
This was Trisha's debut single and it went to Number One.
So glad you mentioned Brent! 😊✌️
Amber Dotson - "I'll Try Anything"
Steve Holy - "Good Morning Beautiful"
Yes!👍
The Song Remembers When is a great one by Trisha. She did an awesome job on How Do I live, and she was also married to Robert Reynolds from the Mavericks, Raul Malo, lead singer for the Mavericks, is one of the most amazing country crooners ever. I highly recommend listening to the Maverick's "Oh, What a Thrill!
Amber has the BEST reactions!.....She GETS IT immediately, so good she makes me cry, specially near end of song,
when "Daddy" has to eat humble pie.
As I recall Trisha Yearwood is originally from George, I think. She has so many beautiful songs one in particular is "The Song Remembers When.".
She’s the Queen of Country! Her most powerful song (Oscar nominated) is How Do I Live. You’ll love it.
It's been said of Ms. Yearwood that she has perfect pitch. A wonderful, expressive voice! Check out her version of "How Do I Live?" Just sublime.
An amazing one by Trisha that really shows off the power of her voice is her song called "Broken". It made me cry the first time I heard it!!
J - you are going to be so happy when you see your kids happy
Another great song 🎵 haven't heard it in ages 💜✌How do I live without you is a great song too💜✌🇨🇦
JUST saw Garth Brooks in concert one week ago today, and Trisha joined him onstage to sing a few duets. Then she did this song and it was awesome. We all sang along with her. She has an amazing voice!
YES!!! She's AWESOME!! I'm so glad you finally found her. lol I hope you to listen to more of her.
Guess what, you made me smile when I saw this was a pick for today!!!
I LOVED watching you listen to the song & this was her breakout (first hit).
Wonderful to see you both liked it, and it really is a sweet story of LOVE ♥
The next song that shows her voice is "How Can I Live". If you haven't heard it, please add it to your list!
I'm glad you got the "story within the story"(mom talking), of the song.
That was FUN!
She's from Georgia originally. She lived in Monticello not far from where I grew up in Jackson.
Howdy neighbor.
@@Head-ck4hu howdy!😊
Ms Trisha Yearwood one of the biggest voices ever in country music!! So many good ones this and Like We Never Had a Broken Heart is my favorite. Garth wrote the last one. They use to sing back up on each other’s early tracks. Both were married to others but eventually fell in love with each other. Perfect love story!!
One of my favorite country songs to play on my guitar. Trisha has a killer voice.
Georgia Rain, Nearest Distant Shore, The Song Remembers When are great songs from Trisha too.
More Trisha! Georgia Rain, Walkaway Joe, X’s and O’s, This Is Me You’re Talking To. She’s so good!
This is her first big hit. Trisha is one of the great female country voices and she has one of my favorite song titles ever...The Song Remembers When.
Parts of this song remind me of "If She Knew What She Wants" as performed by The Bangles
"Walkaway Joe" & "Down On My Knees" are also a must. Both have awesome music videos as well
I know there have been numerous people that have quoted songs for you to check out from Trisha, and they are all good but one of my all-time favorites is the supremely underrated song: On a Bus to St. Cloud. Haunting and amazing.
This happens to one of the songs in my set for the band. Had to learn it in less then a week. It’s a beautiful ballad
Such a talented artist!!! Such a fun song!!!! Play MORE Trisha!!!
My favorite Tricia Yearwood song was Walkaway Joe. Because i was dating a boy named Joe. Who broke up with me a lot. Lol.
Forever Country. A mixture of 3 all time great country songs sung by a very large variety of country singers. Many you might recognize by now. Some you need to look into sometime soon.
Trisha got pipes! I saw her in the 80s and she did some acapella. Dayyummmm!
John Ims wrote this. I listened to him many Saturdays afternoons at The Little Bear in Evergreen Colorado. Once Trisha purchased this song John’s life got much easier!!
I love Trisha Yearwood! I had her CD's! Also Martina McBride! And Sara Evans! Also Rick Trevino & Clay Walker! Thank you for reacting to her! 💜🥰🆒
Trisha has always been one of my favorite country singers! Her songs helped me through some very rough times.
Trisha is from Georgia, not Oklahoma. Garth is from Oklahoma. They live in Tennessee now.
Thanks
