Absolutely fantastic, the number of panelbeaters who could do work of this calibre would be very few. Congratulations
Thank you
You do good work young man and I wish you the very best. I’m an old panel beater that restored some of the world’s rarest cars. They would ship what they had to us in Melbourne Australia and we had to work out the rest. In a lot of cases we made cars from photographs. All we had was an Oxy, a wheel, a roller, and a swagging machine. The rest of the machinery was a tree stump and a leather bag with sand in it. I just saw one of the cars I restored the other day went for $24million. I struggled to afford lunch building it. Hahahaha.
That’s the case a lot of the time in this trade. Building a lot of amazing cars and not making a lot of $ keeping that passion is the most important thing. I love hearing from people who have restored cars. And thank you for tuning in on the videos.
@@Resurrected_metalshaping I went on to become a trade teacher so I'll be watching you, no pressure. Hahahaha. TBH I wish you had been one of my apprentices young man, I'd be very proud of you.
A true Craftsman.
Thank you
Mighty fine job. Well thought out and executed. 👍 Bob.
Thank you
There is something amazing about the abilities of metal fabrication specialists.
Thank you
Nice work. While you call it relatively simple, it is still too hard for most people.
Learning to do a door skin does look to be one of the easier ones to learn and it probably covers most of the basics of metal shaping. Wheel, shrinking, stretching, bending, hammer & dolly etc.
Great videos. Keep it up.
Wow !! That is as much art as it is panel work. Amazing skills
Thank you
When i was an apprentice back in late 70s the old guys then were the last that had done this as a normal thing, we learnt this technique at tech school but it wasn't something we did at work as replacement panels were readily available, making patch panels was about it, good to see some resurgence of old methods
Thank you. It is a shame it’s no longer something you can do at a tech school. I always enjoy people going out of there way to learn old skills.
I am always amazed when people work metal like this! You now have a new follower.
Thank you
Skilled people are still around , lovely job
Thank you
Love the gas bottle idea. Awesome result on the door skin.

Found you Chanel tonight after work .Had to binge watch all you video's. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge and showing how to make a door skin you made it look so easy.i might even try .Would you consider making a video about your machines and what you use the most and a way of doing what they do with hansd tools if possible. Thanks for posting you work and hope your chanel is successful .
Thank you. I’m gonna do a work shop tour video. And talk through the tools at some stage.
I could only hit the thumbs up once, or I would of hit multiple times! Great job. I wish I would of spent more time with "panel beating" to gain such proficiency. Thank you for a great video.

Thank you
Thats damm impressive
Thank you
Tomasini is watching :-)
Nice
Good quality workmanship, even better seeing it done locally. How many hours all up in this door skin? Just subscribed
Thank you there is just over a day in it. It was a big day at that.
Well explained, well made and good editing mate, just a great job all round. Do you ever make the frames for doors as well? See quite a few on UA-cam do skins but not Frames. Cheers! :)
Thank you. I should have a job coming up soon with frame repairs
✊✊from Uk 👍👍
👍 cheers
Great Job on making the door skin for the iconic Torana. Out of interest do you do commission work and if so where abouts are you in Australia?
Thank you. And yeah I’m a business. I’m in Victoria on the Mornington peninsula
not many of you guys left who can make tn into a panel.
Not to many but I always love seeing guys who can or have a crack at it.
WOW!! just stumbled on your site. You make it look so easy...... What thickness cold rolled panel steel are you using?? Cheers
Thank you. I use 0.9 and 1mm cold rolled
Absolutely brilliant matey. Cutting in can be incredibly stressful. I have an old mig bottle that i use in a standfor the dish at the bottom. What procedure did you go through to check and cut it.i want to stuff mine with removalists blanket too.
Thank you. I opened the top and left it for a week than filled it with water.
@@Resurrected_metalshapingthanks for the reply. I will try and get water in, if I can that means nothing left inside. As argon co2 is inert it shouldn't go bang 👍
hez mate thoes hardened plastic blocks for the pulmax, what are thez called, were do u get them from. looked like thez worked realz well
Hey they are building packers. I get them from my local hard ware store. Bunnings if you are Aussie 15 or 20 mm wide.
Nice work mate , just wondering what size workshop have you got
Thank you. The work shop is 9m x 18m 162 square meters.
@Resurrected_metalshaping your welcome mate ans ok thats cool just looking around for a bigger workshop as I've out grown mine
This is shit worth watching!! Great stuff mate.👌👍🇦🇺🍺
Thank you
Good results!
Is that a Jenson Interceptor?
It's a Lancia Fulvia Sport 1600, early 1970's!
Torana a9x
very impressive. especially by yourself with such a long panel. how many hours did you end up with in that panel?
Thank you. It would be just over a standard working day. And it was a long day finishing up late.
@@Resurrected_metalshaping either way it's rough on hands shoulders and elbows. It's pretty impressive. I had a chance to learn from impressive metal smith in my teen years and my parents wouldn't let me spend the time with him
I'm 56 now and my pops is 91 and regrets it. Any time you get to have a chance to pass the knowledge on....do it. Kudos my friend
What is the background music?
Just royalty free music for UA-cam
Cool a $10,000 door skin...
I am probably telling you to suck eggs as i dont do body work besides on my own cars
but do you know about polymorph
Its a low temp 75c thermo plastic i have been playing with it useing it to make plastic dollys for straightening stainless steel trims
I mix it in a cup with boiling water once its hot its like a mixture of clay and caramel i pour or form it over the section i want to recreate it makes a perfect mould/dolly and once it sets it as hard as a nylon or deralin block
I don't have a pullmax or any profiling machinery but i image it would work perfectly for this process
If it’s pretty hard stuff I’m always open to trying new methods.
Just out of interest, where are you located?
On the Mornington peninsula in Victoria
@@Resurrected_metalshaping
Ah, I’m all the way on the other side in Perth.
Are you using 1.0mm cold rolled steel for your panels?
Great job on the door skin to by the way!
There's more than one way to skin a -cat- door 😂
😂
That’s art 🇦🇺
Thank you
