    You’re a great teacher Tubal showing us how it’s done without the need for fancy workshop machines! It installs a bit of confidence in having a go myself . Thanks dude 👍

    This is a cool, comprehensive video. That third way, by hand, certainly came out pretty damn good.

    I was surprised how good the hammer forming worked. As good if not better than the bead roller. Great video.

      @@BeAMetalFabricator right on bud , thank you for the reply , I can't get 20 gauge by me lol they carry 18 or 22 and won't order it . I picked up 22 gauge for PPP anal patching , it's easy to work with but it really thin to be weld . anyway thanks again , I'll be following your channel

    I really enjoy watching your videos.
    I'm no metal fabricator but the second demonstration seemed to be the most efficient and looked as if it would only require a small amount of shrinking.
    Am I correct?

    • @BeAMetalFabricator
      @BeAMetalFabricator  7 місяців тому +1

      Thank you very much! Well since each panel was exactly the same they all took an equal amount of shrinking, the second method (hammer form) was more of a tuck shrinking method, you can see the metal gather together and create a tuck and as I proceed to hammer the tuck out the metal tends to shrink in those spots. Thanks for watching!

    Hello Tubal, great tutorial! Now when you planish the flange, is it better to do it by hand, or can you use the planishing hammer without worry of distortion ? Ricky👍🇨🇦

    • @BeAMetalFabricator
      @BeAMetalFabricator  7 місяців тому +1

      What's up Ricky! A planishing hammer would be a great option! But by hand works too. You will just have to be careful not to stretch it too much or you will have to go back and shrink if the panel starts to curve again

  • @JosephLance-x9q

    Why did you use a plastic faced hammer on the hammer form? Curious how you would make a curve U-shaped piece.

    • @BeAMetalFabricator
      @BeAMetalFabricator  7 місяців тому

      I used that hammer only because I like it, a metal hammer would work too! Also for a U-shaped piece, the same process applies, if the flange is on the outside of the U-shape, the metal would shrink. But if the flange is on the inside of the U-shape the metal would have to stretch. Thanks for watching man

    ...and if you don't have a "shrinker"?

    • @BeAMetalFabricator
      @BeAMetalFabricator  7 місяців тому +1

      Then the hammer form is your best bet. But a shrinker stretcher is super affordable at harbor freight. Also you can always cut the tuck and weld it in a pinch(not recommended)
