    The Weber SmokeFire pellet Grill is designed to be a great steak searing grill...not just a pellet smoker. The Weber engineers told me they designed the new Weber SmokeFire Pellet Cooker to sear great steaks without the need of extra parts or hassle.
    I got a chance to grill some steaks (and Harry cooked some grilled salmon) and I have to say if you are looking for a one size fits all pellet grill or smoker that can do everything, this video is worth a look. Searing perfection is hard to come by without charcoal but this grill did a great job with our New York strip steaks, salmon, shrimp and chicken. What do you think? Will it sear?
    More content coming on this grill... stay tuned.

    I was planning on getting Traeger but after seeing this video it’s going to be Weber for me for sure I’m so happy they’re coming out with one of these because I love their products, and I’ve got several of their grills already. Thanks for doing the video. The way they stand behind their products for their warranty is enough to make me buy it.

    Oh Boy, that looked like a lot of fun at the Weber facility and the new entry into the Pellet world of grilling. I still love the 3 burner weber I bought a couple of decades ago. I am just about due for another cast Iron grill surface as I tend to cook for only me and the misses the right side doesn't get used that much and while I wasn't paying it much attention it has started to rust a bit. The left side is seasoned well and is in good shape. The new Weber pellet is intriguing just hope it's not too pricey.

So Congrats on that 2) I hope in your over all review you speak on the price point and how it compares to the other pellets on the market. )3 and finally. I have a treager now and I never get that kind of flare up with the large pan under the grate. It looks like Webers' flavorizer bars really give this grill versatility from low and slow too hot and fast. You are really the only channel showing these grills in action. Weber is lucky to have your support. Well done. I was set on buying another treager, but now I want a Weber!

    • @BabyBackManiac
      @BabyBackManiac  4 роки тому +5

      What's cool about it is it sears great without the need of extra parts going in or out, but the real benefits of this grill in my mind is the engineering design choices that aren't so obvious. Too much to write here, but I'll do a video about it.

    • @pkt976
      @pkt976 4 роки тому

      @@benjismith593 the Louisiana can on one small section of the grill over the fire pot after you set it up to which is a bit of a PITA switching between smoking and searing especially if it's hot. It's better searing than most pellet smokers offer, yes but, a process to use. My buddy has a rectec. Beautiful pellet smoker. It doesn't sear for shit though. I had to tell him straight. Trying to sell me on the "sear kit" aluminum bars increasing the 500° temperature by 100° to 600°. Lol. Could hardly see where the sear marks were. Other than that the rectec is amazing. That's been my hesitation on committing to a pellet smoker. My deck already has a smoker, a flat top griddle, a Weber propane, and a Weber kettle. With the Smokefire I can get rid of everything except the griddle .

    • @pkt976
      @pkt976 4 роки тому +1

      @@BabyBackManiac I think I noticed the side walls are double walled, is the lid as well? Also very curious about build up and clean up along the bottom walls. I know it channels into a tray with the ash. Wonder if the grease build up could possibly flare up were you to suddenly crank it up for some steaks after a few cooks. Is the fire pot stainless steel? Why not SS grates? Did it really affect the cook or was it a price point thing? Don't care for the porcelain coated center hood diffuser thing. Lol. That stuff disintegrates where I live from the salt water. Thanks for the reviews.

      My Traeger and Rec Tec get up to 600 degrees but flare-ups on Traeger only happen when there is a tremendous amount of Grease dripping over the sides making contact with flame. Almost impossible on Traeger but it has happened. My Rec Tec is a pellet grill that looks like an old school Round Weber grill and I bought that one because it is compact easy to move around for searing. The Rec Tec does flare up but just the right amount for searing.

    You need some Grill Grates for that Weber

    If you look at the grill when they took the steaks off that's a grease fire 🔥 that's why the reps take the meat off so fast

    I have a Pit Boss and have to say that at high temps we don't perceive much wood flavor or anything that compares to the charcoal flavor from my performer. How was the flavor at high temps from your recent experience? You and Harry are the only reason I got interested in Weber pellet grill, but don't want to make the expense if the outcome is going to be the same as my current pellet grill. Thank you for your videos by the way.

      I think the Weber is really cool but I wouldn't lay out the money if I was happy with my current cooker. It will still be around whenever you are up for buying a new one.
      Regarding smoke flavor at high temps, my experience is the same as yours. Hope this helps.

      yeah it's looking real good. Seems solid like I'd expect a weber to be, and with their replacement parts supply it'll be no problem to keep in top notch condition.... hopefully for years to come.

    What is causing the flare ups? Is it the grease that drops? I wish my pellet grill would do that!

    Looked like a grease fire in a pellet grill...I can burn my house down with my stick burner and not have to buy pellets!

    so, were these prototypes....because the last video you did on one it could barely get to 600 and then it stayed in the 400s while you were cooking the steaks..and the flame on the right side...totally uneven temps ...what happened?

  • @2k3hoo

    The big question that needs to be answered is... How well will it maintain cook temp in an outdoor environment? It doesn't look like the lid is insulated at all, and there is no gasket on the lid as you can see by all the smoke pouring out around the lid when it was closed. If smoke gets out, so does heat. Very interested in your field tests once you get it.

      Good question, but I don't think it will be an issue. Weber has an entire section of their property dedicated to outdoor testing grills in Chicago (which gets cold)...and even spot set up where they can replicate temperatures of hot climates. The inside stuff in this video was just so we'd be comfortable. lol.

      @@BabyBackManiac gotta make sure those horizontal vents aren't facing into the wind. I get why they didn't go with the vertical stack, but I believe their solution has issues as well.

      Baby Back Maniac can you please explain why there is so many flare ups? The way the grill looked like right before you took the steak out looked like it was actually on fire. Is that the norm for this grill to look once it’s at high temps? Thank you

      @@geomafia Grease from the fat drips down onto extremely hot metal plates under the grates. Grease burns at these high temps. Tadaa! Flare ups.
