    I'm actually really excited for this grill. I've talked to lots of pellet grill from a variety of manufacturers owners and they all complain about the same thing: They don't get hot enough, so they feel like they need a second grill. One grill added a propane side burner to solve it. This will be a real hit if Weber solved that problem and they back it up with their warranty.

    • @kantill
      @kantill 4 роки тому

      While yes I have a second grill just for the ease and save on pellets but if you get a set of grill grates you can sear with a pellet grill. I grill on my gmg with no issues.

    • @BabyBackManiac
      @BabyBackManiac  4 роки тому +2

      Hey Ryan,
      Yeah, that was what they were trying to solve...but actually, there are SO many issues with pellet grills and most people just work around them without even realizing maybe they shouldn't have to. They were SO thorough in their research and did their best to get rid most of those inconveniences.
      Properly searing is definitely the most obvious. If you are happy with the sear you can get on a gas grill, there is no reason you wouldn't like this. There is so much more to this than meets the eye.

    After many years of Barbequing I bought my first Weber kettle and I could not be more pleased. Its flexible, accurate, consistent, and easy to use for an old man. And, there is a lot of after market and original accessories to make things fun and useful. I suspect, in a short time, the pellet grills will be as popular.

    I have been using my kettle for 20 years. All of my friends and relatives have gone for a more expensive alternative. While they're alright, my kettle requires very little maintenance and cooks awesome food. I have to confess though I want an offset smoker. You can keep the electronics, ceramics and the crazy expensive stuff. Simpler the better.

    I like how the entire bottom is the heat source, not one little firebox on the side. Now if you can control that to do indirect as well...I'll be buying one.

    • @ronc4146
      @ronc4146 4 роки тому

      Exactly. There is literally no transition from the smoke rings on the Brisket and the steak to the middle. Just two layers - well done and medium rare. Running hot with no real defined indirect zone. Still a smoker at heart, even though it is capable of higher heat for direct heat grilling, but without clearly defined indirect zone, its an either/or shot (low or high).

No doubt it will be a higher price point that most consumers won’t be able to afford, seems like they have taken care to make it a true grill and smoker! Only problem I have with this, in an earthquake... with no power... you can not use this. I can however use my Kettle without electricity.... I am concerned on how much the Weber pellet will cost, however it looks like a cool machine. Those huge 36 inch kettles are rad!!!!!! Great video Justin.

  • @joeydoesthings4955
    @joeydoesthings4955 4 роки тому +1

    Yeah, that is cool! I didn’t think I needed a pellet cooker, but a bunch of my friends have Traeger, and the benefits were obvious. Then Weber started teasing one and the desire to have one started to grow. Now that it is revealed, it looks awesome! I am digging the 24”. It looks like it could accommodate any brisket out there, do you think it could Justin? It looks like it could handle a giant turkey and a ham at the same time, would you agree? The 36” seems huge, like it could handle 4 briskets at the same time.

    One thing I really like about the SmokeFire pellet grill versus others is the pellet auger feed system/tube is it's separated from the fire box. This should reduce or eliminate auger feed tube/pipe fires.

    My Weber kettle is my go to, but I sure hope they’ll have stainless grates available. The plated steel never last long enough.....this might have swayed my decision on another brand I was gonna buy! Well done Weber

    It seems to me that Weber is focusing on the SmokeFire's ability to grill - is it a smoker that can grill, or a grill that can smoke if you want? And from the video of the flame up on the steaks, the grillmaster should invest in a set of Grill Grates. It's an interesting product for sure, and no one can deny Weber's leadership in the industry.

    WOW! That's all I can say right now,,,,,, WOW! I was surprised to see all the venting in the back of the cook chamber. I've been poo pooing mine for having those as they let all the smoke out. I don't get it. I bought mine before I was informed the seal is important. Still learning.
    Great share.

    The steaks on the pellet... Now you have my attention. That has been my biggest complaint about my Traeger Pro 22 since I got it, it doesn't get hot enough... this looks like it solves that problem.

      @@SDSBBQs honestly, when you compare the price of a full tricked out PK grill to the new Webber pellet for a little more you get digital temp control that's hot enough to do steak properly. I can't believe I'm the only one who thought about this. But damm that messes up my excuse for getting the PK ! Oh what to do,what to do?🤔😁
