This is the BPM that makes the song work at long last! It's like the first time I heard Great Big Sea cover REM's "It's the End of the World as You Know It".... There's no going back from here! Nice job man!
Please keep including your pre-production ideas. That is an excellent addition to your videos. You're well known enough by now that we'll all know if someone tries to cop your style! That being said, I'm stealing all your ideas ❤😂
I was being set up to absolutely hate your "improvement" on this iconic creed song. I decided to stick with you a bit and fast forward to your final product. It has a really interesting 90's alternative vibe with some punk and skater music vibes as well. Really nice job.
It is difficult to make this compliment without discounting the hard work you have put in. I'm aware you have devoted a huge amount of time over the years to your craft, but I am really amazed with the insane amount of natural talent on display here. It is awesome to see folks that find those talents in life and pour resources into them. Keep kicking ass.
@@JBtheWeightlifteryup it's the same for a lot us. So many What if ..? and regrets. But at times we were truly happy and content. Wished we done more but no use crying over spoiled milk as they say. There's many more great memories to look forward to.
DUDE! There is so much to love here. Top 3 oh dang moments for me... 1. Half time feel during the solo (plus a killer solo) 2. The bass during quiet bridge 3. The Shout Chorus towards the end. Please keep drinking coffee and making music!☕🤪🤘
@@AlexMelton dude I bet, I played that guitar riff so much as a kid so it was awesome hearing a fresh take on it. Keep taking chances and expressing yourself, you have created something really unique here!
Alex: "So, what should we do for that little guitar lick in the chorus?" Alex: "I have several ideas..." Alex: "Let's use all of them." Alex: **slurps coffee** Alex: **slurps coffee** One of my favorites so far. Creed makes for surprisingly good pop punk. Great video
Man, I was not expecting fast Creed to work this well, but it absolutely slaps! Loved the little coffee break at the beginning too, buying a plain iced coffee to use as a canvas depending on your mood for the day is kind of inspired.
Evwryone has already said everything that needs saying about this song but...i must reiterate. What an absolute banger, I'm frankly stunned that you could put this song in a blender with 2000s pop punk and dial up such a masterpiece. It feels genuinely like a new song, while at the same time keeping those signature hallmarks of the original (like those big guitar chugs before the final choruses). Knocked it out of the park. Thoroughly impressed by your musical chops, again.
Is almost unnerving how much difference a small production change can make. Your channel does such a good job of highlighting genre conventions, of exploring how musical meanings are created in/through various production vocabularies/contexts, and so on. Sure, it's also cool as hell, but there is a lot more going on here (and I promise that I am not trying to let the lit professor in me ruin everything by overanalyzing it). Thanks. Keep it up.
I don’t understand how you are incredible at all your instruments, can record/mix/master everything perfectly, film everything in an expert way….i’m just jealous is all. That must’ve been so much time you’ve put it all this. The song and the results are awesome. All your songs are awesome. And I’m especially impressed by your drumming and how you reimagine songs all together.
The way you’re able to distill all of your influences and just general love of music into each of these projects, while still retaining the spirit of the original, is such a neat thing to see
Love it. You have such a cool way of looking at music and all the possibilities. Aaaand, now I'll be listening to creed for the rest of the day. Cheers.
Dude, I always want to leave a comment but can never find the right words. You *floor* me with your talent, creativity, production quality, hard work and dedication. It is a privilege to witness you execute your craft and the end result is always such a gift to the ears. Thank you so much for sharing.
A few seconds in I went looking to buy this song, and then I realized you posted the video 2 hours ago. I'll check back later, love your music, keep it up.
Another absolute belter mate, well done! I got my first ever car a couple of months ago and I swear 90% of the stuff I've blasted out the stereo as I'm cruising down the promenade with my windows down has been you so thank you for that!! I'd love to hear you do a cover of Hear You Me by Jimmy Eat World, maybe in the worship band style :)
I'm one of those strange people who actually liked and still like Creed. THIS SONG IS AMAZING! This tempo and style gives this already awesome song a new life. Love it!
I love the “in the mind of Alex” perspective! And what a fun cover! Would love to see a tutorial on how Alex works his magic. Could be a good way to promote the products he’s using too
I dunno, is it _REALLY_ Creed if it doesn't sound like it's sung with every syllable half-converted to the letter R? For real, though, this is a fun twist I would not have counted on working half this well!
Creed was the soundtrack of my adolescents and hearing it brought back in such a cool style from that same time period was amazing! Truly great work my man!
Just sent this to my buddy who is currently drumming for Scott Stapp (Creed’s lead singer) on tour right now. Love what you do bro!
manifesting that Scott decides to collab with Alex (like when Fred from TBS did)
What was his reaction?
We're all gonna need an update on this later. And I really hope it's not an attempted copyright strike.
no you didnt
Dango is the man! He'll love this 😂
Every song you touch turns to gold, Alex! I love this so much 🥲
Sounds like Four Years Strong. Love it!
Wow your cinematography and editing style are greatly improving all the time!!
Dude you’re creative AF. Love this
Gave me so many different vibes.. all gold!
I saw Creed’s Higher, I clicked.
Got the drums rippin on this one!
Love the in the shed with Fred shirt. It's a shame his Chanel doesn't have more followers. Great Cover!
Graduated in 2003. Brings me back!
Dude this is amazing. Definitely listening to this during my workout.
Alex, you are the gift that keeps on giving. Another masterclass in song transformation.

Stellar!!!
THIS IS AMAZING
Awesome vid
Loved every moment of it
If ur ever out of ideas I recommend everybody talks by the neon trees if blink 182 wrote/covered it
Brilliant!! Sounds to me if Relient K did Higher.
Thank you so much for your content , your talent is amazing and I share your page with everyone that I know !! ❤
THIS FUCKING BANGS
Love to be "let in" on the process. You're a beast on every instrument!
I guess this confirms that Creed's drawl sped up sounds like Tom Delonge.
blud is a killer on the drums
Well-earned sub! The Al Gore Rythem used for good…led me here!
That's some Good Ass Coffee!!😝🤘
well i guess if you just speed songs up, you get a nice blended pop punk sound. awesome assesment! lol.
nice take ❤
how did I stumble onto this masterpiece, holy hell! and this is coming from someone who doesn't like creed haha. Well done!
This sounds amazing! It's got a real pop punk feel. P.S. Pamplemousse is the best.

Ill listen to this again. Can't say the same for the original.
Got sort of a green day feel.
One of the best instrumentals you've done, the drumming was insane, and those guitar riffs were particularly well engineered!
I went from a Timberborners episode directly to this video…to see that you are here too is 🤯
Did not expect to see Mr RealCivilEngineer in the comments!
I really liked the bridge of the song...
Watch out for the rogue architect in the comments posing as an engineer.
A British engineer listening to a very american music covered by another american, God I love the internet

What a lovely comment and sentiment, thank you for going out of your way to craft that.
So if you pour coffee on your old Creed cds they turn into Blink 182 mp3’s 😂🤷♂️🤯🎸 Loved this 👍
Never let this man run out of coffee.
Dude is single handedly letting me re-live all the feels and emotions of high school every week.
Right?!?!
The nostalgia hero we needed
I didn’t peak in high school but I had good times in it, However their were times it sucked

Creed + Coffee = Pop punk
Lmao
Beat me to it
I think most pop punk is rock+ coffee, with the occasional red bull and vodka addition
That's some math I can get behind.
Been playing THPS amd this could be a brother to Superman by Goldfinger
Another song was successfully Meltonized by Alex. It is such a pleasure to listen and drink coffee.
I like that term Meltonized!

How does this guy not have 1,000,000 subs?💚
Keep sharing it!
I'm sure he will soon enough!
Let the good things marinate for awhile. He's going to have a heck of a backlog for the new folks to sort through.
I'd Do Anything by Simple Plan - Country version when? Also this is fantastic; Creed will always hold a special place in my heart.
I think we need more Coffee Creed covers.
Alex: "So, what should we do for that little guitar lick in the chorus?"
Alex: "I have several ideas..."
Alex: "Let's use all of them."

Jesus approves
Oh my god, I hope they see this and appreciate it for the gem that it is.
Dude as someone who religiously listened to creed when i was in high school, this is like the sickest cover you've ever done. Amazing dude
Im glad u included the production part :) I'd love it if u kept doing that
WHY ISN'T THIS ON SPOTIFY!?!?!?! IT'S SOOOO GOOD!
The reharm on this song, along with the syncopation, is freaking stunning.

Creed was awesome and I will die on this hill alone.
*sees you dying from the Limp Bizkit hill and offers a solidarity fist 👊🏼
Is that your sacrifice? *insert smirk emoji*
You won't die alone. This old Marine will die on that hill with you.
Did you know Creed is actually reuniting next year?
@@Fuzunga You've just made my day, sir
I love the behind the scenes of you making the song it sounds incredible! Definitely would download this one
You can't fake talent like this. Awesome work, bro.
Once again, I like your cover even better than the original! The key change and tempo speed up just hit different!
Dont care about the stigma. This album was really good.
100%

This is exactly what I aim for every week, thank you for appreciating!
You had me at “Creed”
This gave me "All Gas No Break" era Stellar Kart vibes, I dig it.
Who needs cigarettes and coffee when you can have creed and coffee 🤙🏻
I hear that Creed did a (Really Slow) cover of this song
Four Year Creed
Jars of Human Clay
Love it. You have such a cool way of looking at music and all the possibilities. Aaaand, now I'll be listening to creed for the rest of the day. Cheers.
This guitar tone is so nice. Really reminds me of Four Year Strong- Explains it All album. Good job!

5:30 🤯 when did this dude start killing it that much on drums?
I have always had a soft spot for this band given the name. The pop punk hits so nice!
Wish I could IV this directly into my veins
Now we just need With Arms Wide Open as an Emo anthem
Growing up loving both creed and pop punk this is an absolute treat. Thank you for this!
The bass really shines on this one! I can’t stop listening!! Outstanding work, as always, Alex!!
90s anime English Dub intro vibes....And I say that as a compliment.
100% cool, hip, modern, worship music 😂 Love it

Dude waited till the last phase of the last chorus to give us the original guitar line. Well played Sir.
It was actually there in the intro, just played on octaves and mixed low in the midst of the other instruments
I went to Spotify to add this to my feel good playlist, and it wasn't there to be added. That feeling was anti-feel good.
Can haz? 🥺

production-wise I'm gonna say that Alex is already on the top tier along with Will Yip, Sam Pura etc
