I never understood why Creed got some much hate back in the days. I know it's a Christian rock band but the lyrics are actually good and the music is bang on! 25 Years later and it's still dope
the media hated it precisely because it had Christian elements

@@provinceofst.augustineinca6742 (((((media)))))
Because they were incredibly corny
Creed is not actually a Christian band. Scott Stapp has said so in numerous interviews. They still have some amazing music as does Alterbridge.
Idk why they are hated in the US, but in the Philippines Creed is the wholesome heavy music we all listen to. We celebrate the music. Such memories with their songs. Glad they’re back.
Creed was extremely popular in the USA and is still regarded as a good band by many.

Creed doesn't deserve the hate they always got. Their musical talent was evident, and Stapp's lyrics hit home just about all the time. There's a peace inside you, let it be your friend.
I don’t understand the hate. They are almost borderline heavy metal. I guess it has to be the Christian inspired lyrics. That’s all I can figure

A terribly underrated band. They got that perfect sound and know how to convey emotion through the music they create.
Underrated?; 😂😂 they were awful.
They were never underrated. They had their peak in the late 1990s to early 2000s (I remember hearing this song for the first time in the summer of 2000 before I turned 8), then the mainstream masses moved on. I still like them to this day.

@@raceloxyou aren't white then. Thanks for the admission. Tremonti is one of the best guitarists I've seen.
I really hope Creed realize how far reaching their music was. I was 15 years old when I heard this song in 2000. Suva, Fiji Islands. I never knew of this type of music and this was my first rock song. We did not have much technology back then so when my mates and I hear a song we tell each other in school the name and sing some lines from it. Then those who hadn't heard the song kept an ear out. I wasn't the first to hear it and I remember going to school and my close friends were so excited "bro! you HAVE to hear this song Can you take me higher!" We got blank TDK tape cassettes and waited patiently by the radio until Higher played and we would quickly press record. I loved this song from the very first second. That tape would make so many rounds in school played repeatedly on Walkman. Of course rock was a very unfamiliar genre in Fiji so it quickly turned out that my close friends and I were a minority loving this new band and genre of music. It made this song and band more special to us. Music videos were a rarity too then so naturally we did not see the music video for Higher for several months. When we did see it on an MTV recorded vcd we were just sat there frozen and I remember being so emotional and extremely happy as we finally put faces to the vocals, guitars and drums. Seen it hundreds of times since. Discovering Higher gave way to other rock bands: Splender, BonJovi, Staind, Lifehouse, The Calling, Vertical Horizon, Foo Fighters, Fuel, Matchbox 20, Limp Bizkit, Incubus, RHCP, Third Eye Blind, 3 Doors Down, and so many more. (1 of my friend's Dad worked in the USofA and he would send us NOW rock cd compilations). I was on the bus home when the news came on radio that Creed had broken up. Cried all the way home. Called my friends and they had heard too. We grieved for weeks playing Human Clay, My Own Prison and Weathered on repeat. So funny looking back now.10 years on from this song I had managed to move to the UK and the fates were kind, went to an AlterBridge concert 2010. Mark Tremonti was always our favorite band member & we loved that he brought the remaining members to form Alterbridge & continue to give us fans Creed-ish music. I stayed out in the Southampton winter cold waiting outside Guildhall for about 2 hours after the concert for them to board the tour bus. Only about 10 of us fans were left when they finally came out. They were the nicest people in the world.Their appreciation was so genuine. The same thing that happened to me when I first saw this music video happened when I met Mark Tremonti. I had so much to say, but alas, I choked and as we shook hands I could only manage to blurt out "it is an honour to meet you sir". He replied "thank you so much man, that means alot". There were 9 of us who were that "Creed boys" group back in school and 2 of us were blessed enough to have left Fiji and met Alterbridge and Creed since. Over the years I have always had this song on me, from tape to cd to usb to smart phone. Thank you so much Creed for being the sound track to our school years and a constant go to even to this day. Higher remains my favorite song ever

Set up high I'm strong enough to take these dreams
And make them mine
Can you take me higher?
To the place where blind men see
Can you take me higher?
To the place with golden streets
Can you take me higher?
To the place where blind men see
Can you take me higher?
To the place with golden streets
I liked the Song, thought it was a bit for corny, but when I read these lyrics I broke down and cried and I felt the love that guides us all
JESUS METAL
Ammazeing words !!!
Bump
i gotcha
Dear Scott Stapp, i want to publicly apologize for getting caught up in the "creed scrutiny" that took place in the 90's and 2000's. i too was a closet listener but too young to appreciate the lyrics and the work you guys put in. Now I'm in my 40's and literally rediscovering the music of Creed. I can totally relate to your story.... my father also left my sister and I when we was young, among other personal life scaring assaults. i Truly believe had i were aware that creed music and lyrics was FIRE and our past were so closely related, i may have found the inspiration i needed earlier. stay strong, stay in prayer, and keep doing what your doing brother. BIG LOVE. Frankie
BIG LOVE
It's aight bruh..
Scott recently did an interview with Theo Von that was amazing! He talked about his demons and his upbringing that caused a lot of them, and so much more. Highly recommend. And he knows he was a dick back in those days, super sorry for it now and realizes his mistakes. If you've got 2 hours it's well worth the time. I listened to it while painting my kitchen. There's some pretty funny parts in it too. Just search for Theo Von Scott Stapp on here and you'll find it. Enjoy!
That's one the reasons it's a blessing that most music lasts forever God bless
Came here after 65k, but been Creed fan for ages
A man of culture
68k! Woop Woop!
WE THROWING THE CHILD WITH THIS ONE 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🗣🗣🗣
Oh no not this again ain't you dizzy yet
You guys are part of the soundtrack of my life. I literally can remember something and some of your songs pop up with the memories. Much love to all of you, thank you for meaning so much.
Peace in the world 🌍🙏
This is the best song in the world…you sing straight to my heart Creed. I love you ❤️
Creed may not be the most liked band, but this song still gives me chills, My Sacrifice and One Last Breath are some of my all-time favorite songs and inspiring.
Faceless Man, Dont Stop Dancing, and Who's Got My Back are some of my favorite Creed tracks
Faceless Man is epic
This song was a last fav til they stopped playing it interesting how things work anyway
Same! ❤
A lot of negativity and unecessary hate towards this band for absolutely no reason. People aren't happy unless there tearing something down. Creed was and always will be amazing. Been a fan since day 1 and now it's all about Alter bridge for me. I saw them 2 times in concert and they were phenomenal live!! Haters are always gonna hate unfortunately. we should be spreading positivity, love and peace instead of looking for the bad in everything.
f u c k e n ..... A
Ok I agree people love to tear others down and that sucks buttttt there is a middle ground it is very fun and hilarious to make fun of something that is stupid or cringe and I think that is absolutely ok we all do it
@@jedspoor956 Both youth and elderly, a reach which i did and named it: BIBLE + FREEMASONRY.
Get to know who they are - where they are - how and why they deceive - how they communicate, then expose them.
There is NO EVOLUTION, every living creature got created by GOD after its own kind.
No mattering what and how many schools/university you attend to, feather you`d be in or out of schools system, you are still living with the lack of knowledge if not daring to read the BIBLE nor search and expose masons.
Dare to ask - dare to seek - dare to knock:
Matthew 7:7
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
Wait, are there people who hate CREED?
What would be the reason??
They were amazing. One of my fav groups of the late 90s!!
"Lets go then"!!!
I hope these talented musicians found a good job they deserved.
This song came on the radio while I was driving to my first day of high school- teaching it, that it. I remember the exact spot on the road when it began, and I just cranked it up and sang along. Teaching was my life's calling. This song became my Anthem, only a few months after Columbine rocked our community.
My husband & I saw Creed in concert after he came back from Iraq in 2003. It was therapeutic for us both that night!
super dope
Columbine hit close to me too class of 85” Thank you for carrying on teaching!!!
One of the most impactful and inspiring lyrics in a song I’ve ever heard!
I was living Huntington Beach off Beach and Talbert cross streets and enrolled in the 3rd grade when this song was released. A good friend shared this new song with a fellow compadre. Hell yeah! Great song.
that sound reverb from 3:13 brings me back to my childhood wow.
Stapp is a very talented writer. No BS lyrics here, very meaningful words. Creed was a superb band.
This song came out around the same time I witnessed birth for the first time. A child of someone who was close to me at time. It changed me. I cried my eyes out. Life is sacred, and God is great.
But they arent Christian band
Which god did you mean ?
Creed is always my fav 😩🥰 nothing like that voice 😍
If you are here, then you appreciate great music

Went to my local bar last night where they had a so-so band playing. The first few songs kinda sucked. They then started playing this song and fuckin nailed it. So good it gave you chills. Everyone lost their minds. Great life moment. Core memory
