I had to stop watching the video and make a cup of TEA!! Then went back to the great video. I'm from the Outer Banks of NC. I spend a lot of time Red Drum fishing from the surf and piers. Largest one of the year is 53". I would like to see you make a 12' to 13' heaver. This rod would be casting up to 12oz. with bait.

My local tackle shop told me there were no heavy rods with a long rear handle and a good reel seat and recommended me to build one instead. This looks like tea one rod so got lots of inspiration!

Something I've always wanted to get into and try ia rod building. Just need to save up funds and start buying the equipment and materials needed and continue educating myself. You do amazing work. That's an awesome rod. Thanks for sharing your expertise!

Thankyou, This would depend on many things, time of day, weather, mood…. I drink copiuos amounts of many teas but currently my favourite is a green Shaolin blend!

I really miss the English tea we drank when I lived in England. Can you answer this question for me, what determines the guide height, and what determines the ring size of the guide nearest the reel?
Thanks Dorf, my opinion is the reel size being used, both height and width, and… line spreader. The wider the reel the larger the guide.
