A little trick i have always done while putting the control arms back on is put them straight up and down on a floor jack then jack it up right into place. Put the control arm bolts in and then swing it up into place. I also stick the springs and shocks in with the control arm all the way down like literally straight up and down then put the end of the control arm on a jack and jack it up with the weight of the truck compressing the spring into place. Helps a ton. My first couple years wrenching i would use the coil compressors and just fight fight and fight them. Makes a big difference when you raise and lower the truck to get the parts in place. I also prefer to keep the truck low towards the ground. For me its better to keep the rear axle within the range of the lift kit. So if im doing a 6in lift id jack the back wheels about 7in off the ground. Same with the front. Use the truck and gravity to help install these parts. I just grabbed this same lift kit from the junkyard today for 50 bucks complete. Whole damn 6in rc lift kit for 50 dollars! I lost sleep over it last night worrying about someone going and grabbing it before i could. Needless to say i was the first one at the gate this morning. I just need to clean it and its good to go!
@@truckmastergarage9944 bro I see you have a l5p I been wanting to trade my 2014 denalihd for a l5p but I been seeing lots of videos on here with this tick tick notice coming from the block, wtf! Does yours have that too?
I'm using this video as a template I'm in the process of installing sake lift on my 07.5 lmm I'm glad you put this content out! Will say I wish I had a lift like yours would sure be easier than rolling around on my creeper.
Didnt ho bad got it on at my own pace ofcourse and added some kryptonite upper control arms new hubs new cv axles new lower control arms because the bushings were wore and just better to replace whole alomg with slotted drilled front rotors and new towing heavy duty pads new steering stabilizer and new kryptonite death grip tierods since i couldnt figure out what aftermarket brand were on there and needed replacing in all probly took about 2.5 months mostly waiting on parts for 8 weeks though turned out awesome only thing left is getting the brace bars i bought extra installed been working otr so havent had time
Oh yeah no problem if you do decide to get kryptonite make sure you order well before your ready to use them i didnt decide till later really glad i did now
Dam watching this vid and seeing those rims has got me kicking myself in the ass. I just replaced my old 22's with the same Visions except I went 20" matte black on my '01 Sierra thanks to winter salt and no winter rims. Great video tho it helps simplify the process, I had to use the RC video as my reference which lacks some of the hidden details that you cover. Jealous of the lift sure makes the job a lot easier I bet. Cheers
For gas engine install, it mentions on the RC site "exhaust reroute modification may be needed for front driveshaft clearance" any insight on that? I have a 2500HD gas and looking at installing this kit. Thanks for the video.
@truckmastergarage9944 as always, solid video. Question regarding the Rough Country front bumper… it looks great, but did you fab. a 1500 bumper to fit the 2500? How did you mount it? Any thoughts are appreciated! Keep doing good work.🍻
I've really been enjoying your content, this was cool to watch, I like the direction this truck is going. I'm thinking it might be a good idea to linex the rocker pannels..panels... linex can color match, so you can stay red, might be a cool way to do the bumpers as well... thanks again
thanks I'm getting close to Finnish i like all your videos learn a ton I'm also rebuilding a LMM and you have all the information fist time working on a diesel engine and it's something else
Got a diesel building, taking care of an awesome 2009 GMC Lmm ”u know what” for my HSP Intake and air dog 165 running great . 31,650 great condition 40k on it, been infatuated with all that is Duramax ever seance 5 years now and at 129,659 and running best it ever has 🏁 Great informative and never done building my lmm Duramax brother
Bought my 09 LMM about 6 years ago with 206,000 miles. Drove it over 100K more and gave it to my son who has put over 50k more on it. We are around 370,000 miles. Minor and major issues have come up but nothing you shouldn't expect over 300K. We "turned of" the EGR instead of deleted it because of the CEL. Normal leaks and wear items. Starter, batteries, alternator, shocks, brakes, coolant leak at the clamps, oil pan gasket, transmission gasket, replaced the original exhaust at around 300K, etc. The biggest thing is that at around 350k the transfer case broke a "fork" and cost $1,500 to fix that and replace many tranny lines since they were original. Long story short, great truck but be prepared to spend a few thousand per year after 300K. FYI, we live in New England, the "rust belt".
You by chance have a measurement from the ground to under the rocker panel curious as to how actual high the 6 inch makes the truck as i want to lift my lmm what made you go woth blocks instead of replacing leafs with new lifted leafs?
That truck came out great. Very good install video to. I remember doing my lift kit and even tho it was a different brand it was still the exact same install. I would like to see a video on the lift springs you have on the lbz without the blocks. Kinda want to do that to mine and have actual lift leafs instead of blocks.
Can you tell me basically what type of tire and wheel size you have with what size spacer. I'm looking at doing a 6 in lift on my 02 Duramax. And having trouble figuring out wheel and tire size. I might go 18 to 20 rims in summer. But I'd like to run a factory style rim in winter. Because of road salt. And I do snow plowing with my truck. So I wanted to get nice chrome 18-20 for summer. The maybe run a cheap set of steel black wheels in winter. What do you run in the winter. Do the salt a lot there. In near Cleveland Ohio. We salt a lot when we plow. I just started using fluid film. I'm gonna spray black fluid film on my whole frame this spring. Put on a new southern bed. And a 6 inch lift.
You almost triggered me with the squared truck joke hahaha jk. I really wouldn't have cared. I just needed to see the front install. Have an '09 2500 HD. Bought the same kit.
I have a 2008 1500 that had this loft. Do once that braket is cut truck is done as far as going back? I bought this truck lifted and want it back stock or lowered maybe a tad to build a 4x4 turbo street truck. Can this be done now?
In doing my lift, the front driveshaft doesn't pull forward very easily to reach new diff position. Did you change the boot at the transfer case/drive shaft connection, this seems to be the factor in pulling it forward??
Lift kits are available at our website click here 👉 truckmasterdiesel.com

Nice!! Didn't think it was that much work. Truck looks awesome!! Maybe one day I'll do mine like that! Great video too!
All of ur mods really tied that truck together!!!
Great video man!!
14:11 don't forget the lower shock nut lol

Outstanding Job on the lift kit. That's one Sharp looking Truck. 👍👍👍👍👍

Dang brother she’s clean!
Thanks!
Fucking right!
11:50 man i was about to start coming up with all kinds of comments 😂😅
Awesome dude! I can't wait to lift my 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 4x4 6inches!
Do you think RC is better then a pro comp lift? Looking for a smooth ride after the lift
I have both kits, the pro comp one is on my older Silverado but I think they are very similar in ride quality

How many hours you think this took? Just curious
Wow. That's what on my mind. 6 in lift on my 3500 hd 08 Duramax. I am not sure how to do it with out a lift to get job done. What do you think???
Perfect highth how hard would it be to level it. Just crank it up a little or would you add something
hi there I'm installing same kit I'm lost on the rear blocks on my kit there is one side larger then the other which way are this blocks are install?
The shorter side faces foward

Whats the wheel offset running? Looks good with the chrome and red combination
Hey that RC torsion bar bracket drop that you have to drill bolts for, what’s the part number I can’t find it online, is it also for 02-18?
does this apply for a 7.5inch rough country lift on same body style lml
Yes it’s very similar
Think the right one is correct the left upside down?
Keeps the axle from twisting.
I think we need to see the truck vs the cat eye tug of war next
You by chance have a measurement from the ground to under the rocker panel curious as to how actual high the 6 inch makes the truck as i want to lift my lmm what made you go woth blocks instead of replacing leafs with new lifted leafs?
When I install the rough country lift kit like yours would I need to worry about installing a dropped pitman arm?

Looking awesome
Now I’m thankful my jeep is so easy to lift 😂
Can you use your 4x4 with that lift ?
Truck looks amazing!
Can I ask where you got the front bumper and what it’s called thank you
Rear wheel spacers?
How long did it take to install?
I went with a control arm lift and dig how I don’t have a wider stance, and don’t have to use spacers on the rear.
Where are you located? Do you still do this work? Thank You
You wouldn’t by chance have the bracket you cut off the truck would you I’m trying to find one for my truck
What size rims and tires r those
How much was the installation ?

The truck at the end is a gay hicks dream.
Does my guy not like his eyes
