This may be a stupid question! When painting do you just touch up the letters after removing the stencil where the stencil is still intact? For example, the E and O Thank you so much! The video was very informative!
Hi! Great video but I'm having a BIG PROBLEM. I'm using Silhouette Design Studio 4.3 on my Cameo 4. I select my knife and it's set to solid and straight. The knife point does not line up with where I'm trying to cut. It's nearly 1/8 in. off. And when I make the second cut (beside the first one) it is too far from the first or directly on the first. As it is, I have no way to make these cuts as you are doing. Is there any way to adjust this? I sure hope this makes since.
I found the answer. Line/character spacing...Thanks again for the great video. Well, it seems I spoke too soon. This helps but doesn't fix the problem. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
Your question makes sense but I don't know if I have a solution for you. I haven't used that new version of the software yet. It seems your settings should work but they are off for some reason.
Great tutorial. Thanks for sharing. This video should have 3 million views, not "only" three thousand. Could you please write down which program you used for making the stencil text? I didn't understand it from the video.
Thanks for watching! I use a Silhouette Cameo cutting machine and that machine comes with a design software, that is what I am referring to in this video.
My knife does not make the little square when I use it but just a straight line. I have selected all the same setting as you selected. I have to erase the cut out section and then struggle to draw a line to connect the parts I cut into.
@Creative Ramblings the four corners was the only place I could start a line in my font. Honestly, it was a few hours of trial and error. I now think a few issues are in play. 1) I updated the studio version to 4.4.7 2) the whole design file is corrupt. So I started a new one. 3. Now I can cut across the font loops where needed. Instill can not draw two lines and delete the section. Not sure how or why. 4. You are amazing!! You replied to my plea in less than 24 hours and I am so grateful!! Any insights you can toss my way would be helpful. I'm determined to master this stencil project and get client holiday ornaments made and sent if it causes all my hair to turn gray, lol. Do you offer consultations by chance?
Depending on the letter that can be difficult to do. An O for instance cannot be cut without lines by itself. I have the best luck using a script font so I can tie all the letters together.
Thank you so much for showing this! I seriously have searched for days on how to fix this problem and I finally found you! Great demonstration
Hello, I’m having an issue. When I cut, it’s not separating the middle piece in order for me to delete it. What do you suggest?
Yep, a vote of thanks for your neat inclusion of the bits normally left behind. Super, thank you
Thank you soooo much! You explained it so well. Easy to understand and I am a visual person, so SEEING it really helped too!!
After the lines what do you because the lines did not cut or I just don't know what to do after making the lines.
Thank you so much for sharing! Seems like I'm going to spend many hours creating stencils!
How did you delete the space in between the cut lines 🤷♀️
Excellent and easy to follow tutorial, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge, it’s going to be a super useful technique 👍🏻😊
Glad it was helpful!
This is great I been struggling with this thank you for sharing !
This is awesome! Love the idea thanks for sharing! 👍💕
Thank you for showing how to do this can you tell me what kind of stencil product you use?
To make my own stencils I use a product called Duralar, it's a thin clear or matte material that is reusable.
Just subscribed! Very good tips. What cut settings do you use for the duralar?
I use the preset stencil settings in Silhouette but I put my blade at 10. And typically I double cut, depends on the age of my blade.
My knife makes circle not straight despite me selecting straight..any suggestions
Thanks now I know about welding and the space you can move the letters well inform.I appreciate the video.

Yes that is exactly what I do, never a stupid question, thanks for asking.

@@SarahVanderkooy I'm having the exact same challenge!!😢
Could i use adhesive spray to keep it from bleeding when i use fabric paint?
Yes, anything to seal that gap between the stencil and fabric. Try basting spray, it's for quilting and isn't permanent.
What do you do for the cut areas, when you paint?
This is amazing! Thank you!!
There is an option to increase the "blade" size. I use .050 and instead of making 2 cuts you can do just one...
Thank you.
Great tutorial. The letters that aren't fully cut would drive me crazy!!!

@@SarahVanderkooy Thanks for your explanation.
Thank you! Exactly the information I was looking for!
So glad to help!

I figured out what I was doing incorrectly. I was not grouping and welding before I made my cuts. It works great now. Thank you!!!
So glad you figured it out! Enjoy.
@Deborah Neel thank you, thank you!! I'll try that. Although I thought I had it welded and grouped. Need to step away for a few...
thank you so much!! it helped me a lot!
I have shilouette design studio. Foe some reason I can not get the lines to move off grid? What am I doing wrong? Yes, I'm a newbie
I'm not sure I understand your question, but I really want to help. What do you mean by off grid?

ola bom dia ja faz um mes que procuro aqui isto que você fez muito muito obrigado
Thanks sooo much❤❤❤
so after doing this can I still shrink the stencil to fit where ever I'm going to put it (like a Christmas ornament)?
Yes you can. Once your script font is all together be sure to select everything and group it so it stays together when you resize or move it.
Thank You
This was helpful, thank you
Great Video
How can you just make individual letters with out any lines so they are solid letters?
Depending on the letter that can be difficult to do. An O for instance cannot be cut without lines by itself. I have the best luck using a script font so I can tie all the letters together.
What is the name of this font?
How do you delete it
I have a cricut and there is no knife to use as a tool , any other way to do this, I am struggling,
I wish I could hep you, I do not have a Cricut so I'm not familiar with their software.
@@SarahVanderkooy super
you can use silhouette studio, save your design and then open it on cricut app :)
