    Great review! Really appreciated what the backpack looks like while filled. I ended up purchasing this pack, and in my attempts to examine it, I took everything out and can't seem to reattach the triangular-shaped gray detachable piece in the main pocket for the hydration pack... at least, that is what I think it was. Would really love some help in figuring out how to put it back/where it belongs. Thanks!

    Thanks for this video, very helpful Any difference in the features between this one and the 63L? (I mean, besides the capacity)

    Hi, thanks for the video. What do you think about the North Face Terra 55. Which women's backpack would you recommend with a reasonable price for new backpackers (4days trip).

    What the difference between this one and the new one that just came out besides color? And no more small little day bag?

    Hi. I bought a Gregory Amber 70 for a 12-day hiking trip. I'm a little baffled as to where my sleeping bag (rated for 20 degrees F) is stored. Inside the pack at the bottom? Held outside the compartments by straps and at the very bottom? I'm planning on taking it to REI for fitting and a lesson, but I would love to have everyone's suggestions. I'm new to hiking but hope to do lots.

      Thanks for your question. We would suggest storing it in the bottom zippered compartment, it should be large enough for a 20 degree sleeping bag. We would not suggest storing it on the outside of the pack where it could be expose to the elements. Your sleeping bag is your warm bed for the night and you would not want to risk it getting wet! It's also a good idea, if there is a chance for rain, to store your sleeping bag in a waterproof compression sack inside your backpack. Good luck!

    Is the hydration sleeve aka tiny backpack you’ve shown included or separate? I’m trying to find it online but it’s a fail on my part so far

    • @Enwild
      @Enwild  4 роки тому

      The sleeve/daypack is called the Sidekick and it's included in certain Gregory packs. It does not appear listed as included with newer version of the Jade though

      Enwild cool, thank you, what about the side hip belt pockets are the electronics safe there from rain?
      Also how to know if it’s older or newer version of a backpack?

    • @Enwild
      @Enwild  4 роки тому +1

      @@chayakali7326 The side pockets aren't waterproof, so it's a good idea to bring a waterproof container if you need it (like a ziploc bag). The color palette and build of the packs are a bit different. You can see the new version here: www.enwild.com/gregory-jade-53-womens-2019.html

    Hi - I just finished watching both your reviews on the Gregory Jade 53 and the Osprey Aura 50 and I'm still torn. My choices are limited in that I need an xs pack, but thankfully both of these packs fit nicely. In your opinion, which is the better pack for 5 months of travel that will include trekking in Nepal? Thanks!

      Hey Sophie! Did you end up deciding? I'm also in the same boat...

      I definitely recommend going to try them on. I 100% was set on the Osprey Aura until I went to try them on and learned that I am not an Osprey girl and much much prefer the Gregory Jade. Everyone is different!

      I ended up buying Osprey Aura over the Gregory Jade - but went with the bigger sized one (62L). I HATED it while trekking in Nepal, even though it felt great in the store. I have a short torso and while it felt fine while walking a level path, walking up the mountain was a nightmare for my neck. I immediately sold it once I returned and will buy the 53L Gregory Jade instead.

      I also ended up going with the 63L Gregory Jade; it's amazing! I really like it and find that it fits and hugs my body well, not to mention supportive. So sorry the Osprey Aura didn't work out for you, but am glad you ended up finding out it didn't work for you and were able to sell it!

    Hi there. I was wondering how this compares to the Gregory Maven 55. I'm looking to upgrade my pack. thanks!

    • @Enwild
      @Enwild  6 років тому +1

      Thanks for the question. This is a hard call, but I think it comes down to pack weight! The Maven 55 pack is built to carry heavier loads than the Jade. If your pack is going to weigh close to 35 lbs or more on a regular basis, we would recommend going with the Maven. If your pack is going to weigh 30 lbs or less most of the time, the Jade will perform well as a more breathable, lightweight option. I really like the adjustment in the hipbelt and torso of the Maven, and the overall features are better suited for comfort on longer trips and heavier loads.

    Can I use it as a carry on in flights?

      Hi! Thank you for watching! Unfortunately, airlines have unique sizing requirements, but here's a good list for reference travel-made-simple.com/carry-on-size-chart/

    My new pack didn't come with smaller day pack wonder why?

    • @Enwild
      @Enwild  3 роки тому

      Hi Christina! Gregory redesigned the Jade series and the hydration sleeve is now an incorporated sleeve rather than a removable one. You can see the current version here: www.enwild.com/gregory-jade-53-womens-2019.html

    Anyone try to use this for a carry on? I cant decide between the 38 or the 53 but I need it to be carry on.

    • @Enwild
      @Enwild  6 років тому

      The 38 would work as a carry-on, but the 53 may be a little too large.

      Backcountry Edge I bought both to try it at home. The 36 size small and thr 53 size ss. After fully pack pretty the same height the 53 just wider
