Slow is smooth and smooth is fast! I love it. I have been teaching Kenjutsu/ Iaijutsu for 30 years and that’s exactly what I constantly tell my students.
Sidious and his master and his master’s master used juyo(original 7 form)because they were siths but mace created a new version of 7 form that is connected to light and dark side and this is also why he wielded a purple lightsaber
He explained it SO fine, I can't help but love that one. Also a good things that he comments on how this is all for showcasing purpose! Imagine getting struck in the face by that pommel move, kicked or even hit with a real weapon by a Juyo User. If you ever tried combat with items that really do harm - getting Form 7ed hurts the most.
Dude, I've been loving your content. It's been fun bonding with my 9-year-old over these video's and it sparks great moments of play between he and I when he tries to imitate the forms
I would love to see tutorials on a Strength based Ataru, like Qui-gon Jinn, Shien focused lightsaber dueling form, like Plo Koon or Anakin from Episode 2, and Niman but all the subtle variations (Diplomat's form is different than Battlemaster's, Battlemaster's from Commando, Commando from Diplomat's). Mike Starwalker and his team do an absolutely amazing job with both their tutorials and all their lightsaber related content. I guess I'd just like to see more of the depth, almost undiscussed forms or dueling mindsets.
Staff versions and dual saber versions would be awesome! I didn’t know that the forms were so intricate and real! Watching all these videos is so cool! Can’t wait to start training with form 1!
Staff AND Dual wielding tuts r in order! Maybe some vid ideas(don't have to but it would be cool)- Backhand tut, solo training, advanced tuts(like more hardcore or smth), just more tuts in general XD I just bought a couple of low quality lightsabers just to learn some forms & stuff(BIG Star Wars fan), and they can connect to be a staff lightsaber so- Ima be doing a lot lightsaber work, working out how to improve! I feel like form 4 will be my main focus, because I do gymnastics so know how to do a few things, as well as Ashoka is my fav character, but will defo be learning at least the basics of other forms to widen my knowledge & fighting skills :D This whole series and other vids are amazing!!! Mike the dedication to this is mind blowing!!! Thank you so much!!! My respect rn is- it is- no words tbh- May the force be with you :D
So now that you covered Ataru and Juyo, can we get the Palpatine vs Yoda reenactment?😂 in all seriousness congratulations and thank you for your devotion to this, I’m learning a lot. Form 2 is my favorite. When I watch Star Wars I know what form they use but it’s easier to track what they’re doing a reacting it. Yoda vs Palpatine is my favorite duel and I can see Palpatine is using form 2 and 7, maybe more. But I’ve started practicing his part for that lol. Thank you again
I think that staff and dual wield are cool for the future but I want to see something for the Lightsaber tonfa or pike (like the ones seen in the Force Unleashed franchise) I know that UltraSabers does have a tonfa it goes by the name "Brood Guard". Personally, I want to purchase 1 or 2 but I wouldn't know how to use them properly without you. 🙏
This is so cool to get such a comprehensive analysis and demonstration of! Can't wait to get my emerging team into these!! Just gotta finish our current work on...you know what!!
@Mikestarwalker it’d be pretty cool if you did a tutorial series about every Star Wars character (not counting the Disney Sequels) and their take on their respective forms of Lightsaber combat. Qui-Gon Jinn for example. Under the guidance of Jedi Master Dooku before he became a Sith Lord, Qui-Gon was a practitioner of Form 4 Ataru. But his take on Form 4 entails focusing on powerful, graceful, fluid, and grounded movements rather than extensive acrobatics and jumping attacks like how Yoda does due to his size against larger opponents.
This form series is spectacular to learn from. I would love if you could do more training videos on each of the forms like you’ve done with Form V. Keep up the great work and mtfbwy!
Awesome! I especially love that you're adding in HEMA moves now! But if I have one suggestion; when "dodging" the 6 attack (around the 3:04 mark in the video), I'd add in a full body dodge movement. In a real fight, that attack would be way out of measure (I know that's done for safety--and it's even stated soon after in the video that the angle of the shot/performance will hide that), but I feel like this spoils that illusion. I'd prefer if the defender would pretend that the attack would have hit his body and move more than just his hand out of the way. If nothing else, the full body movement would be more dynamic (and more in line with some of the other dodges) 😉.
Man, that was pretty nice! One thing I've always thought about form VII is when it's described as having "seemingly unconnected staccato sequences", is that there is really no flow between one attack and the next. Like, if you think about Ataru which is a constant flow of motion where an attack leads into the next, then Juyo is completely opposite, right? And one sequence that always made me think of that is in the live action adaptation of Rurouni Kenshin, more specifically the second film. During Kenshin duel with Seta Sojiro, at one point, Sojiro uses a sequence where he doubles an attack on the same side, really fast. He does that kind of thing several times, but that's pretty much the first time he does it. It's also something Maul does against Ahsoka during their duel, at least two times. Doubling the same attack isn't really a good strategy in normal circumstances, mainly because of the energy required just to bring back the blade fast enough for it to be effective (doing a back and forth cut, like a Tsubame Gaeshi, would be a much more efficient use of energy), but if you have the stamina and dexterity to pull it off, that is quite the unusual technique to do.
I really want to see a video on some of the minor basics such as footwork, arm movement and the grip So far for my Form 2 I got everything perfect and knowing those 3 would really help!
Form VII: this form has a light and dark side variant, both are more of mindsets which make them unpredictable. Fun fact both forms are banned by the Jedi (excepting mace windu who created vapaad) Juyo: every strike is meant to be a fatal one! The form requires one to use their anger to get in an aggressive mindset, erratically and ferociously bypass the opponents defense, and defeat the opponent, through any means! Users of this form include: Darth Sidious, and Darth Maul. Vapaad: this form is more controlled and requires one to get in a combative mindset rather than a ferocious one. Unlike juyo, this focused mostly on defeating the opponent without killing them. The only known users were windu (the creator), sora bulq (co-creator), and depa bilaba (windu’s apprentice). Form VII is my favorite form! Also guys pls like so we can get more of these videos!
This was incredible! Not sure if you remember me, but we actually went to McCracken Junior High School together, I lost my mind when I realized this was you! Hope you're doing well and continue to making this awesome content!
Juyo and Vaapad are the same thing, it depends on if you’re channeling your opponent’s hatred into your defenses(Vaapad) or your own into your attacks(Juyo).
Staff and dual wielding tutorials for each form?!? You guys deserve all the likes and subs! This Form 7 tutorial was excellent and worth the wait
I NEED form 7 staff. Only then will I be complete
Pls do duel wielding and staff turtorials of theese seven forms😊🎉🎉😊
A staff tutorial would be amazing ⚔
Slow is smooth and smooth is fast! I love it. I have been teaching Kenjutsu/ Iaijutsu for 30 years and that’s exactly what I constantly tell my students.
The form of the Senate
Not just a senator. Mace Windu wielded the Vaapad form.
He’s to dangerous to be left alive!
I AM the senate⚡⚡

My deepest congratulations from your tutorial videos of the lightsaber forms 1-7.
I salute you.
May the force be with you.
Thank you Mike, you always bring your A game to show underrated lightsaber dueling can be.
Highest form, yet has this primal, kind of wild and unadulterated quality to it.
I cannot wait for all of the forms as dual wielding and double blade! Your videos are always awesome and informative!
Icredible light fighting skills from these two young Jedi Warriors! May the force be with you
WOW, i didnt expect you to do a tutorial on form 7 because it is the least known form in the Star Wars universe. Congrats bud, and thanks so much.

This is awesome! Your vid’s got me back into saber fights
Thanks Mike for another awesome tutorial.very much appreciate you providing them. Need to get back into jedi shape to go through these again.👍👍
I’ve tried the pommel strike and it is especially effective with a double bladed lightsaber
This form series is spectacular to learn from. I would love if you could do more training videos on each of the forms like you’ve done with Form V. Keep up the great work and mtfbwy!

Could u do a video on cal kestis' fights in his games ? They're really awesome 👌
Forms 2, 6, & 7 are my prefered combination.

I'm not seeing many wizard emojis in the comments 🧙 tisk tisk tisk
Any chance you guys could do vs type video? I would love to see a Makashi specialist vs a Juyo user or such.
Are you guys ever going to do a sidious vs windu reenactment?
You guys should honestly make backhand forms tutorials
Are there warm-up videos for training? Something to get your body warm-up for the intense training especially if you're training solo

@@UTU1Oexactly. It has 2 variants just like form 5
The Vaapad variant was developed by Mace Windu himself, allowing him to use his emotions without fully succumbing to the dark side
I hope this will get enough likes for Dual and Double
Same
I was going to ask if you can make each form with the double and dual wield but I guess you read my mind
I just listened to the Shatterpiont audiobook which says there were six forms until Mace Windu created this one.
You should do the form TRAKATA tutorial. Then again it does require turning off your saber 😅
It's kinda weird ... It took me a LONG time to find tutorial videos for the forms like this.
We always enjoy and are inspired by your videos, Mike!
No. I don't they've shown Juyo. Not Vaapad
Hey I have one confusion about your videos, who is the individual perry you're referring and why is he hanging?
