I am really curious about the form 7. I am still choosing wich one to use. I would choose the 1 ,2 or third lightsaber form at the moment. 1 is because it looks a bit easy, the 2 because its like fencing and I have learned that sport how to do and the 3 is because it good for defence
@@Gal_Kandoi definitely don’t recommend form 1. It’s based off the old samurai style. The point of it is hitting ur opponent before he hits you. Mostly instead of blocking. 2 is decent. It’s offensive but has some good blocks too. It is indeed based off fencing. And has some fast strikes. But using one hand is only good for precise attacks. You will easily be over powered by your opponent. 3 is a really useful one. You can waste your opponents stamina by softly performing simple blocks in a perfect angle and tilt to still make it work without using much energy. And u will eventually find an opening to strike. A wise man once said “a real master of soresu is invincible” i defenitely recommend either 3, 4, or 7 (juyo version)

Kun was Niman put to the extreme, an unpredictable fighter who would pulla single saber, then a double, then shorten his blade, then lengthen it, all while pounding on you. No weaknesses no Strengths limited only by the imagination of its user. It's masters to my knowledge Exar Khun Cao Cin Derach starkiller clone Lord Hoth (correct me if I'm wrong) The backbone of Darth Maul's Juyo "The trickster's form" Jensaarai 1 A *very* underrated form because of its adoption by scholars. It also seems to be the perfect gateway to other forms while maintaining a basic understanding of first 5 classical forms. After performing parry Cal (JFO) is seen taking the exact same stance the guy with purple blade is taking 6:31 I also forgot about Darth Revan.
The problem with Niman is that your force attacks you chain with your bladework needs to be strong. "Jedi academics" can't use force lightning therefore it is deemed weak.

Also Niman’s signature stance gives you easy access to force abilities. While a Jedi academic might not produce results, a Sith sorcerer shooting force lightning or a wrenching choke would definitely be potent.
Juyo is gonna be pretty challenging, since just like Niman, there is no set choreography. It depends highly from the practitioner's chosen forms before studying it (Maul had Niman and Teras Kasi. Rahm Kota had probably Shii Cho and Shien. Palpatine had Niman too, but more focused on Makashi, Soresu and Ataru).
Incredible! I always had trouble understanding this form, but at last, I think I finally understand it thanks to your videos. I can't wait to see what you come up with for Form VII. That will be something to look forward to.
This is off base but this is how I think Batman fights with a blend and since he's a super genius first it's perfect for him being highly adaptable having no weakness but through his intellectual prowess having a all the strengths instead of having no strengths.

THE FORM OF THE LIVING FORCE: As a martial artist, I'm fascinated that the Jedi arts have been broken down into specific styles... I can't help thinking that ultimately, the Jedi who is attuned to the living force as he fights would be in a state that the Japanese sword masters called mushin or loosely - 'No mind'. I'm curious would there be a reference to a style of no style, so to speak. The form that does not cling to any particular form - again, the form of no form? We all know that Lucas's Jedi were indeed based on the Samurai, esp as a nod to Kurusawa's films. Edit: Or indeed, the form of the living force itself. (They ruined the force also by introducing medicloreens - or whatever it's spelt).

Always liked, Niman. For saber forms it makes me think of the beginning and the end; starting your training with, Niman for a broad overview to touch on all of them then you come back to master the form after mastering the others.
This was an excellent video. One thing I've noticed is that you're focusing on only using a single lightsaber. How would these forms look if someone were to be using dual lightsabers or even a double sided lightsaber? I'm really looking forward to seeing both variants of Form 7. Been waiting forever to see that come to life. Would love to see how that would look.
Niman isn't an aggressive form. It's closer to soresu in its passivity. Although exar kun and darth krayt practiced a more aggressive variant. Still, impressive choreography.
This is my favorite form so far. But the tutorials for Juyo/Vaapad are so annoying and hard to understand! We need a form seven tutorial!! You have the overall best lightsaber tutorials on UA-cam, thank you. 😊
Just found this channel and I think your videos are awesome but if you wanna make your fights look real, you should always have attacks be close enough that they would connect if your opponent had no weapon. I noticed you're swinging at nothing or both combatants are swinging to hit the opponents saber. It makes it look like a choreographed fight and not a real duel.

As a fencer (real sword fighting)I was skeptical when clicking on this video, but after watching, I can confidently say that almost none of this is applicable in real swordfighting. Every single block in this video can be made completely irrelevant with a disengage, and the strikes are extremely obvious (not to mention what you called a parry is not a parry, it’s a circle 6). That said, if this is what makes you happy, then by all means attempt to jump over as many low strikes as you want. Just don’t expect this to work on an actual HEMA fighter or fencer.
As a fencer who clicked on a star wars video, you should know that regular swords with edges and points don't work the same as light saber prop made for dueling. It's completely round, so a technique like a parry would have to be executed differently. As I'm sure you know, your typical parry us executed with the flat of a blade. These do not have flats, or are they as flexible as a fencing sword. Use your head. The strikes are obvious because they are making them obvious, for the viewers to understand. This is not HEMA. This is light saber dueling. They are not meant for HEMA for real fencing. They are meant specifically for dueling Lightsabers
Form VI: this is the jack of all trades form, taking the strengths of the first 5 forms and adapting to the scenario. This form also inviolves various uses of the force. This form basically takes one’s skills and levitates them dramatically no matter the current skill level. Every known user of this form was a legend with a lightsaber: con drallig (Jedi battlemaster), revan (who never lost a duel), exar kun (also never lost a duel). Maul even used this form alongside form VII (that’s the form he used against obi wan after he cut his saber in half in tpm). Also everyone who saw this video finds it useful ;)

I'm a visual learner and I remember reading up on all the forms at like 15 years old. I could only picture what these forms did or how they moved. This gives that visual I've needed for so long on how they differ from each other.
