  • Hey y'all, in this video I finally address one of the biggest issues I've run into with ride quality and it was pretty much fixed with adding these Rough County upper control arms (UCA)! I did run into installation issues, but after some problem solving we figured it out and got the job done. Ain't no big deal for ya boy.

    As always thank you guys for watching my videos and hanging out with a guy! Jesus loves you and so do I!
    Blessings.

    Doing this same setup to my 2014, I’m a bit of a DYI mechanic. Great points & hints here, I’ll be making sure those sleeves go in now 😂 I’m also not spending the $2,100 I was quoted to put ball joints on when I can do it myself.

    These upper control arms fit pretty much any size lift, you just gotta trim the bumpstops, I have a 9 inch lift and I have these uppers and my angles are perfect. Even got friends with up to 12 inches of lift that are running these uppers no problem

    looks good. Did you do the rough country upper control arms twice to repair the boot mishap? If so, you'll need to get your alignment checked. Also, you may want to tap down and file smooth the top of the knuckle where the boot rests. The part that got chewed up when you were hitting it with the hammer.

    • @hunterrwiilson
      @hunterrwiilson  7 місяців тому

      Yeah I had to get another set of RC UCA’s due to my mess up. And definitely, I got another alignment immediately after. I filed it down some but only with some 150 grit sandpaper lol, I don’t have an actual file but for sure could get one!

    How much grease do you add or how far do you know that you don't have to add more grease?

    • @hunterrwiilson
      @hunterrwiilson  7 місяців тому

      I think they come with some grease, but not much. I did a few pumps and left it at that. If anything excess grease will “squeeze” out of the bottom of the boot. I go down there every couple months to check all the bolts and I haven’t had anything leak out, so I think you’ll be good with a few pumps!

    Did you ever need to use the sleeves?

    • @hunterrwiilson
      @hunterrwiilson  Місяць тому +1

      Yes! If you stayed towards the end of the video I showed what happens if you don't use them. The ball joint doesn't "seat" and moves around whilst driving. So, it completely shredded the boot and destroyed the ball joint. Had to get another pair and do this process twice. Not fun lol, hope this helps! God bless

    • @hunterrwiilson
      @hunterrwiilson  Місяць тому

      @@djchopo93 No worries! You just have to insert the sleeves and use a small dead blow, or hammer, to insure they're seated in the knuckle properly. If not, they'll probably still seat with the weight of the truck, but it's just a safe bet when doing it the way I described.
