Wow. This is the best hiking documentary I've seen - a real model for others to follow. Not a blow-by-blow "this was day 6...7...8..." but rather, a beautifully conceptualized, thematic approach that leaves space for the viewer's own thoughts. Brilliantly made and well worth watching! Thank you.
my wonderful wife Nick 🌻 and I walked the Camino Francés in 2015 to Santiago then on to Finesterre and Muxia then in 2019 we walked the Norte and Primitivo to Santiago and followed up by walking the English Way from Ferrol to Santiago - three times we have walked into Santiago together - sadly this year 2023 I lost Nick 🌻 to cancer on March 4th, we had been together for forty years, married for thirty seven years having three children together - I will again walk the Camino Francés in 2024 carrying Nick all the way in my heart - walking the Camino de Santiago was for Nick 🌻 and myself one of the most important and absolutely fabulous things that we shared together - hope to see some of you fellow pilgrims walking to Santiago in 2024 🇦🇺 🇪🇸 kd🌿

Perfect summary of the Camino Frances. I walked the Camino Frances last year March/April and this year the Camino Portuguese September from Lisbon via Fatima. Loved every minute, the good times and the hard times. The Camino gives you the time for reflection, prayer and appreciation of life. Everyone who can should walk a Camino. Mark, Thank you for producing a perfect video,
It does stand out. Good photography. An adult’s way to look at a long challenge. My St. Thomas friend walked it 20 years ago and felt alone as an American. 🔯☕️I find it intriguing but as a Jew it would be unrealistic to actually try. It is a Christian thing, not for the people who do not find comfort in the Spanish Jesus. Still, I do want to visit and maybe walk a couple of days on the path closest to the sea. This is where the Jews would go to escape to France in the 1300s-1600s.

Wow, Mark, I so enjoyed your film. It brought back so many memories for me, and also made me aware of a lot of things I missed in my rush to secure a bed for the night at an alburgue. I would love to do it again, the way you did, with time to stop and see the churches and really enjoy my surroundings and meet the people.

Thank you for this wonderful film of your journey. Your movie captures the spirit of friendship and community so well. The lived experiences and the reasons why people walk the Camino are heart-breaking and inspirational at the same time. I walked this way in 2019 at the age of 61 and I know that if I had walked this journey as a young man, my life would have been so different. It is life changing. I also recognise so well the contradictory emotions of the penultimate day - the excitement that I was about to complete my most amazing journey mixed with the genuine sadness that it was coming to an end. I remember the mists and beautiful views on that penultimate day and I remember noting that it was the Camino's way of showing it's gratitude that I had walked for 5 weeks (my reason for walking was a walk of gratitude that my elder son was still with me). I walked so slowly that day. I struggled with La Meseta, really struggled, but the journey through Galicia was incredible - literally waking on clouds. It will live with me forever. God bless you for reminding me of how wonderful we can be to each other no matter where we are from or what languages we speak.
I just want to add a story of 3 nights that illustrate how special this walk is. The first was in a small alburgue where a priest from New York (a priest walking the Camino barefoot) held the most poignant, informal mass in the front room of the alburgue. As a Catholic, albeit somewhat lapsed, it was powerful. The second was in Ages, population 60, where the pilgrims took over and the camaraderie between nations was joyous as we ALL drank, talked and watched the sun go down. The third was arguably the best night of my life where, after a long days walking in the heat, a fellow pilgrim picked up a guitar that was lying around and led the whole of the alburgue in a concert of singalong songs that lifted everybody. Truly, truly special.
The singalongs on the Camino were the best! Especially in some of those medieval churches where the acoustics made you feel like you were singing with angels.@@sdcareyuk
Very inspirational documentary. I am not sure if i will ever be able to walk the French Way but I surely do wish it. Your storytelling is so peaceful and relaxing to watch that it felt that I walked with you all the way. Thanks for creating a memorable experience for your viewers.

We had a lot of fun just watching it as it brought back fantastic memories. We are going to forward it to friends and family to give them an idea of what it was like. Thanks again. Christian & Emmi
The best Camino video I've seen, great job. The video is about the Camino and the people and the history, it's so much better than the self centered "OMG, look at me" or "useless shocking tips" videos out there. People wanting to produce travel and exploring videos need to watch your video first, it is truly top notch work.
Found your film and so grateful to see your beautiful production. My sister and her husband are doing the walk and I knew someone had it documented more fully than their abilities. Such a beautiful, quality production.
Best film from the camino, so far, I believe. You showed many of the high-lights, but nothing can make up for experiencing it yourself. I did the camino in two sections (2011/2012) except the Mezeta (Burgos-Leon), but still want to take the whole in one go some time. Thank you!
I just finished walking the Camino Frances less than a month ago. It took me 32 days with two days of rest or 34 days altogether. Let me put it this way, it isn't a walk in the park. For its 477 miles or almost 800 KM, 300 plus miles are walking on rocks, stones, and uneven gravel roads. The trail is not paved with asphalt, it can be quite treacherous on one's feet stepping on pointed or jaded rocks. Besides walking on rocks, there are many uphill to climb and downhill to descend everyday. Some uphill climbs are very steep and strenuous. Aside from the hiking, then there is the external factor like rain. There were days I had to endure walking in rain with my socks soaked with water for four plus hours. Some of the things I took for granted became quite essential. After hours of walking in rain, the shoes were wet inside, newspapers were curled up and stuffed inside the shoes to absorb moisture. Keeping one's legs in good condition are important to continue and complete the journey. I saw many pilgrims/hikers who failed to maintain their bodies because of blisters or a sprained ankles. One of the hikers' blisters was so bad that her toes became infected and had to totally stop the Camino. My piece of advice is that if your toe is showing signs of aching, you must stop immediately to administer the toe. Don't be a fool and continue walking with an aching toe until you get to the next town. By then it is too late a blister has already formed. Wearing proper socks and prepping the toes before each walk is a daily routine. During my walk, I met a hiker who was confronted by a wolf while walking in the mountain. He was able to fend off the beast with his trekking pole. I also heard from other hikers that one hiker suffered a fatal heart attack while climbing a hill. I was told the hiker was 59 years old. The Camino Frances is a physical challenge. Before you are about to take the challenge, please make sure your body is up to the challenge.
Great film, summed up the whole Camino Frances in half an hour, which I couldn't believe it's possible! Bravo once again! For me personally, it was very emotional to watch it, since the memories of my first (and so far only) Camino are still fresh (I finished my in August 2023 in 30 days) :)
What Roman town you nention at ~ 25: 27? Thank you! Reminds me of travel videos whererowns are shown of remote mountain towns of Northern Italy. Gorgeous!
Wow. This is the best hiking documentary I've seen - a real model for others to follow. Not a blow-by-blow "this was day 6...7...8..." but rather, a beautifully conceptualized, thematic approach that leaves space for the viewer's own thoughts. Brilliantly made and well worth watching! Thank you.

Thanks. Buen Camino.
The best Camino video I've seen, great job. The video is about the Camino and the people and the history, it's so much better than the self centered "OMG, look at me" or "useless shocking tips" videos out there. People wanting to produce travel and exploring videos need to watch your video first, it is truly top notch work.
Thanks great to hear. Thank you. I loved walking this Camino and producing a documentary about my journey. Buen Camino.
Found your film and so grateful to see your beautiful production. My sister and her husband are doing the walk and I knew someone had it documented more fully than their abilities. Such a beautiful, quality production.
Thanks. Buen Camino
Brilliant documentary, we are doing the French Way next gear, gave us loads of ideas of places to visit. Thank you.
@@mickflynn9130 thank you. Buen Camino.
Thank you for sharing the documentary!! My husband and I are planning to do the French way in a year or two. Buen Camino!!
Best film from the camino, so far, I believe. You showed many of the high-lights, but nothing can make up for experiencing it yourself. I did the camino in two sections (2011/2012) except the Mezeta (Burgos-Leon), but still want to take the whole in one go some time. Thank you!
beautiful and overwhelming. I hope to do my own Camino someday. thank you, Mark for this documentary...
Thanks. Walking the Camino is a wonderful experience.
Fantastic Documentary 💙💪🙏✨✊👊Buen Camino
Thanks. Buen Camino
Great film
Inspiring work Mark!
Thanks
Very well done. It makes me want to go back and do it all over again!
Thanks. Buen Camino.
Oohhh- it is beautiful .....
Thanks. Buen Camino
Great film, summed up the whole Camino Frances in half an hour, which I couldn't believe it's possible! Bravo once again! For me personally, it was very emotional to watch it, since the memories of my first (and so far only) Camino are still fresh (I finished my in August 2023 in 30 days) :)
Terrific!
Thanks
I missed one of the best and probably hardest stage of the journet, from Villafranca del Bierzo to O' Cebreiro. But I loved yout job, congratulations
