We bought one new in 2015 for that exact reason. Of course we got an Xbox One when Fallout 4 came out, so it was irrelevant quick in our house. But still, loved the stupid little thing.
3:43 Microsoft put that sticker there because when the Xbox 360 first came out, people were moving the console from horizontal to vertical whilst discs were running inside them and unknowingly destroying their discs...it was HUGE news at the time so yeah, these warning stickers came out with later iterations of the console.

The reasons they revise models : Cheaper to make (more profit) less power hungry (the E had unified chips and was less power hungry than the S) and minor improvements in reliability. I think its cool the E exists from a collectors view, you can buy a relatively recently made 360 that will be more reliable than buying the fat or S 360.
The E actually is less reliable than the first Slim models which had the Trinity motherboard, and even less reliable than the last fat models which had the Jasper motherboards. The Jasper and especially Jasper v2 (aka Kronos) are built like tanks.
@@pikachu896 Just out of curiosity are the Jasper and Jasper V2 motherboards somewhat safe from RROD? I already have an Xbox 360 slim and I'm interested in owning an original as well but I'd like to have the model that is least likely to RROD and I still haven't found any information as to which to pick? Would a v2 jasper be best since it's the newest?
Soon after the 360 E was announced my 360 S died, so I bought this as a replacement for £100 in a flash Amazon Black Friday sale. Back when amazon’s Black Friday sales were good. I still own it and probably won’t get rid of it until I can play all the 360 games I own on the Series X.
I thought about getting rid of mine when I wanted to have less stuff I don’t play I got rid of my Xbox one and one x when I got my series x. Then I decided I wasn’t going to get rid of mine just need to find a controller for it.
I know the main advantage of this model from Microsoft's perspective was that it was made much cheaper to manufacture. Why that wasn't initially reflected in the MSRP is beyond me (I guess they wanted it to still seem as "premium" as the S-model), but I eventually managed to buy one of these in a bundle that included a 320 GB HDD and 4 games (Halo 4 and Forza Horizon as physical, Need for Speed Rivals and some other game I can't remember as digital) for a mere $160. The retail prices of the games alone essentially covered the price of the whole bundle!
When he was talking about the sticker tab I was like "who in their right mind would leave it on" and then I looked at my Xbox One and its still on there lmfaoooo
Mostly just that it got overshadowed by previous versions and the Xbox One. The last version of a console often gets "forgotten" due to similar reasons. Like the later Wii Mini or the now expensive top loader NES.
I did an unboxing video of the blue e series console when it released. Still my favorite Xbox 360 console to this day. I loved that it originally had a 500 gb hard drive out of the box.
I remember my parents getting me this 360e for Christmas 2013, and i was so happy with it, although i did wonder whether it was a legitimate 360 as it didn’t look like my friends 360 lol. I still have the 500gb 360, and go on it time to time for nostalgia, it’s such a underrated console tbf, it just came at the wrong time among a better console :(

I had brought 3 Xbox 360 e’s and all of them broke like they will turn on but freeze at the boot up and I still have my Xbox 360 s from 2010 and it still works with no issues whatsoever.
A couple of points from someone who was there in the day, from the original Xbox 360 up to the 360E. The 360E was a really important machine and a god send. Why? Well, for most of us who had bought the original machine, we had gone through the pain of the "red rings of death" and countless unreliable machines. When the 360E came along it was the final version and all of the bugs had been fixed. It was quiet and ultra reliable - so much so that my kids are now playing on the machine today. It also enabled all of us who had accumulated a significant library to have a machine that could play that library for years to come. As when it's successor was released, backward compatibility was not being talked about. So the 360E was a really important machine, and we are lucky Microsoft made it.
The 360 E up until mid 2014 was the Corona mobo that MS had used for the slims since 2012 actually. The 360 S is the one known for fixing the RROD, although technically the Jasper version of the fat 360 was the first to do it.
I got this when I was 9 and it was what I could afford at the time and I loved it so much. I put every single penny I had at the time into it.And it provided so many memories. One of the greatest things i’ve ever bought
This video brings up nostalgia, I got the fat one, specifically a black Jasper, back in 2011. Today it's a fully modded 360 with LT 3.0, RGH 1.2 and A LOT of games, but sometimes I only turn it on to revive some memories that I had on gta online with a friend that I lost... Man, I remember after school we always played GTA online.. it's been 8 years now, 6 from his last online
God damnit. I swear every time someone says “I was *such age* in *such year*” I wind up smacking my head realizing so many relatively large channels are led by people a couple years younger than me 😭😭 I still watch the internet as though everyone is older than me.
I was watching another UA-camr Today and the realization of how old he was in 2011(13) till now 2021(23) reality hit me square in the face.. I'm in my 30s and saying damn time flies.. I been on this site since 2009..
The Xbox 360 E is a pretty elegantly designed console that's decent for those who want to play their old 360 games but don't care about modding. In case some people don't know, later E models from July 2014 to 2016 contain the Winchester motherboard that cannot be modded.
I have one, my son's old one that he never used (it was still unopened, as he, at the time had a Halo Xbox-One. I also have my day-1 (I repaired/upgraded it after it red-ring'd on me), a G1 "Elite" and this E-Model in my collection. Cool stuff.
I have one of these, my grandma got it for me when it came out and I've taken very exceptional condition of it, next to no scratches on the gloss black and works absolutely perfect
You might need to change the thermal paste, my Xbox One X would keep overheating and turn off after 2 years of owning it because the thermal paste was completely dried up
The original 360 had a million revisions because of the undependable hardware. I went through 3 consoles, so the E is basically them saying “Here we figured it out, the last revision.”
@@Awomman-kp3by yeah I also have a one s and pc now and I still like playing Raymond on the 360 kinda like how I still play Mario kart wii but I still have the newer console and pc just so I can play the latest games available like cyberpunk on my pc since it runs horrible on the Xbox.
My parents got me and my siblings the E when it released in 2013 We mostly played Minecraft on it Today it still sits on our entertainment center As a streaming service and Solo GTA 5 Machine
My Dad gave me his Xbox 360 E January 7th 2020 and after my Original One Broke Down November 2013 (right when the Xbox One was getting ready to Launch) I was happy that he Actually just gave it to me and it totally Brought me back to my Middle School Years (from 2009 to 2011 when I was in 6th to 8th Grade) I still own some Games that I kept since the Last Decade (from 2010 to 2013)
I'm planning on grabbing a 360 S in December, primarily to replay some of the older games that have been discontinued / delisted from digital storefronts. It's still helpful to have one of these systems around for this reason alone.
3:30 I remember ripping off that sticker about 3 years after I got my 360 and it really hit me how stratched up and dusty the rest of my console was lol
I still have the sticker on my Xbox one lol, wonder what it would look like underneath after the rest of the console has been collecting scratches since 2014
This is actually the Xbox 360 that I had and overall I would say it’s pretty good, I’ve never had and big issues with it that I can think of and I always kinda liked the way it looked and it’s size in general, I loved this vid and it’s nice seeing someone talk about this cool and kinda weird/obscure console!
I remember getting the 4gb model on black friday 2013 for $99 at WalMart, with the kinect (seperate) only being about $70. Little kid me thought this was an amazing deal, as my only exposure to an xbox was at my friend's house. The guy there warned us that the new one was about to launch, but in my mind that was irrelevant because my friends all had 360s, so I'd need a 360 to play with them. My friend got an xbox one for christmas. Felt kinda stupid, but as a kid, $99 was a lot of money (saving up for over a year), and back-compat was pretty grim on launch. Wasn't until 2017 that I got a one s. And last year I got a launch day (kinda) series X. Say what you will about its looks, but the 360 E will always be beautiful to me.
The fact that I own one of these is awesome. It’s very nastolgic and it works like a dream. I know the newer consoles are out and games are getting hard to find but this console is still relevant
@@Exile-0001 if you managed to completely skip the XONE generation good on you, but the Series X is a great upgrade. I wouldn't get rid of the 360 though.
I luv my 360 E! I owned every itteration of the 360 at some point in my life and my E has told the test of time to go F itself Like every console I own I throw thru the blender and service annually. the E series I own takes top spot on the podium as the quietest best operating 360 I own
I own a 360 E. And it's definitely quieter than an S or especially the og 360! It also runs most games smoother or loads them faster than the other ones! Glad to have picked this one up before they discontinued the 360 line. Like my original white 360 died and I'd rather this than the S.
I had a 4gb one, I bought battlefield hardline, it needed to be installed. So as it didn't fit I plugged in a usb drive. When I put the game the pop up says "the game must be installed in the internal memory" I returned the console and game, and bought a PS3
I had one on Christmas 2013 just because I wanted a new console to replace my Wii and this one launched, it was cheap and got the great catalog of Xbox 360 games so I thought it was a good idea to buy it. It's nice to see I wasn't the only one who bought it 😂😂
Ive owned every model of 360 at some point in time and this one was actually my favorite. I went through multiple of the first gens, even a couple of the black elite 120gbs due to the red ring of death. It just felt better, cleaner and overall just more reliable. I actually just picked up one of the Blue 500gb variants of the E Model since their are many titles that still aren't and won't become backwards compatible. So to me, the 360 is still to be desired even today, if you're looking to play a few of those unported older titles.
I used to own one of these, man all the memories of playing with my friends online. I eventually sold it to get enough money to buy a switch years later.
6:07 But the good thing was that very few 360 games required an install, so 4GB proved sufficient. I remember buying a 250GB proprietary hard drive as backup for my game-save files.
The 360 was a wonderful product. I got mine right when it arrived, with a game called Fusion Frenzy included in the box. It’s seen countless hours of the years, and is still being used 15 years later to play multiplayer games with family and friends.
i got in gaming pretty late, this was my first console ever i bought it in 2016 after saving my money for a year. im really sad that i missed some good 8 years of gaming cuz my family didnt have much money. we got a good pc with internet only in 2011, that is when i discovered youtube and flash games, well i played a lot of those
I got the Wii as my first game console and got the Xbox 360e a couple years after the Xbox one came out for that same reason. I ended up selling mine for a PS3 and some games because I couldn't afford to pay for live.
My housemates at the time had one, it was a replacement when their previous 360 gave up the ghost. I get the impression it was mostly to stay as a console to compliment the One before back-compat was accidentally developed. :)
I'm one of the few people who ended up playing this console for years. I told my grandma that I wanted an Xbox for Christmas in 2014 and of course I was expecting a brand spanking new launch Xbox One but I got a brand spanking new 360E instead. Even as a 12 year old kid I immediately knew the difference but it hardly deterred my excitement at finally owning an Xbox. 7 years later and I've only ever owned one other console, that being an Xbox One S. Which I happen to have just given to younger relatives as a fairly late Christmas present since I'll be buying a Series S in a few days.
I currently have this model hooked up to my bedroom TV. I love it, because my Series X downstairs in the living room isnt 100% backwards compatible yet.

Only the Winchester E's unified the chips. Many of them use the same mobo as the Corona slims but with some ports removed.
@@bbblop4545 Jasper or V2 is preferred. They have a very low chance of RROD, and are the best Xbox 360's to get, more so than S/E

The 360E was more than common for me. I've seen so many friends with one. It's pretty good looking tbh
I just cannot get over the small button
Yeah the only model I like better is the series S because it’s so tiny but has a big punch.
The reason why people didn't remove the sticker is because they didn't wanna ruin the outside of the xbox
Ripped mine right off just but rubbing alcohol on it and use a qtip
I think it makes it look more modern because instead of black plastic it looks more detailed
