Unpopular Opinion: It's my favorite song off the album.
Philly #1 Coffee Snob nah man it’s my favourite too along with Orion
Philly #1 Coffee Snob Have you ever heard the cover Dream Theater did with Barney Greenway on vocals? It’s hilarious and awesome 🤘🏻😎
@@husker6395 No, I haven't. I personally hate Dream Theater's singer's voice, so I have barely heard parts of 2 songs. I really tried but I just can't.
The thing that should not be, tho
Philly #1 Coffee Snob I understand, but he’s not singing on that cover at all 👍🏻😎
LARS CRUSHED THIS ALBUM, I DONT CARE WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT HIM.
💯
I agree totally bro.
Lars isn’t actually a bad drummer at all, he’s just gotten very lazy over the years and his form has slipped from not practicing.
Facts! A little sloppy here and there, but you'd be nit picking. You'd need to listen specifically to Lars just to hear when he was a Little sloppy. Mostly he's on point. This and And Justice For All... just great work from Lars.
Well... After And Justice for all. He got lazy and become the meme we know today.
Don't drive while listening to this, you'll be ticketed...
Shiiiiit dude me and homeis always have neck ache after listening this masterpiece
That or an accident. It's dangerous listening to thrash in a car
@@Pirustae no, not really with any other song. Just this one, the tempo of the song climbs gradually through the masterpiece and that tends to drive down my foot as well and the speed increases along with it. I once found myself going like 90 in a 50 zone after this song when there weren't any cars in the way... And I didn't realize until I was like 85% through the song. It is intense as any... Just be careful!
Made that mistake tonight...amazed I’m not dead or in jail lol
I actually love blasting this track in neighborhoods and let them know what type of music everyone is missing who has never heard anything like it lol.
This, along with Dyer's Ever, to me is nothing short of the very definition of thrash metal.
Do you know this band called Slayer?
@@jol9178 Meh, Slayer is a one trick pony. They've literally rewrote the same song over and over again for 25 years.. At least Metallica has shown some diversity in their writing. Not everything has worked, but at least they've taken chances.
I think someone forgot about "Fight Fire with Fire." Simply can't discuss the definition of thrash without including that almost five minutes of headbanging beauty.
@@MrMeraby Word. Fight Fire With Fire is a Thrash Masterpiece.
Naw I agree
Whole album was a masterpiece! Enough said!
This happens when you are young and talented and hungry. legendary.
I go back and forth between this and "Dyer's Eve" for my favorite Metallica ripper. Just so good. :-)
This whole album is awesome
Depends on which one I'm listening to at the the time for me! lol
And now add Spit out the bone
3:23 one of the greatest riffs of music
Especially when the rhythm guitar and bass kick in.
@@jeffe4297 if you listen closely you can hear cliffs bass going wahhhh!! 3:33
it kind of has a fade out affect!! But it sounds so cool because I guess for dramatic effect but it only sounds when the drums and bass kick in
Thanks Kirk
pure chills when bass joins
I saw this live in 88. The pits were brutal.
Best concert I have ever been to.
Metallica clearly wanted the album to start and end with the listener having a seizure.
It's thrash metal...
@@ava_3230 "It's thrash metal..."
That's right...
@@itswrongtokillanimalsifyou2837 The entire point is to start and end with a seizure
@@ava_3230 "The entire point is to start and end with a seizure"
Yes, that's correct! Good, you got it!
@@itswrongtokillanimalsifyou2837 So why are you posting common fact like you're cracking some code and then acting like a bitchy Karen when I point out that your observation is basic and stupid?
I was 15 years old when this came out, that intro takes me back to my teenage years.
Master of Puppets was just voted their greatest song ever, but Damage Inc. has always been my favorite. It is absolutely brutal!
Master Of Puppets is hands down the best metal songs EVER written second only to Black Sabbath’s War Pigs
@@dmusiclife5727 Faith No More's cover of War Pigs is better than the original, in my opinion!
@@Defensive_Wounds check it Cake's version too. Killer.
Man, i can't decide between MOP, Damage, Disposable, Leper Messiah or Orion🤪
Fade to black is great also
The best metal album in history fact
Agree and I think only Ride the lightning and rust in peace are good enough to be mentioned in the same breath as MOP. Honestly I get such a rush STILL listening to songs 5-8. They are just that damn good, and what separates MOP from the other great metal albums. RTL and RIP come out like gang busters. But then after 4 great songs the rest of the album ranges from decent to very good. Whereas MOP is just getting it's feet wet and the 2nd half is so much stronger than the first half.
Don't forget, "Reign In Blood," "Show No Mercy," and/or "Hell Awaits!"
FACT!!!!!!
One of the best albums in music history overall :D
My favorite part is watching her experience that solo. A confused but ecstatic look of ‘ guitars can actually do that?’
The intro is Cliffs bass too, so awsome
The bass introduction to this song was the last thing Cliff Burton recorded before he died.
The last thing he recorded was actually To live is to die
@@leewatson9749 Not exactly. He helped write the song but had no part any recordings of it.
Lukeamania oh yeah my bad, i just meant like, last music for Metallica he made
There is a good chance the last recording they did was either the thing that should not be or orion, since neither were finished songs once they arrived in studio.
@@leewatson9749 apparently cliff didn't even write to live is to die at all
If someone tells you they "Love" Metallica, you mention "Damage Inc.", "Dyers Eve", "Escape", "To live is to die", "Orion", or "Trapped under Ice", and they dont know what you are talking about, just walk away 😆
No bro I only know enter sandman, nothing else matters, whiskey in the jar, sad but true and fuel
right . if you ask them so your a metallica fan huh ! what songs you dig? and they say oh enter sandman . and half of the black album . then they have not gone on the darker side . just ask them to play master of puppets ,ride the lightning. and kill em all then ask them again .
I agree with all that apart from Trapped Under Ice which still feels like filler to me, just like Escape is...
and those are the least liked songs on those albums, no lie. Except Orion.
One of those isn't like the others
God level song. If this is your favorite Metallica song, I can easily understand.
My #2. Beaten out only by Blackened
The smile you got on your face near the end of the intro says it all
On their thrashers Metallica were the only act to have found that fine equilibrium between aggression, sinister feel and yet enjoyable constructions. It's because I knew this album first and Ride the Lightning that I didn't enjoy Anthrax and Exodus as much as Metallica (and Slayer some times). It's quite dark, but not too much. It's aggressive but enjoyable!
Tell me that dude right there is not having the time of his life I love it!
“Steamroller action
Crushing all
Victim is your name
And you shall fall”
PURE POETRY🤟🏼
One of THE best thrash songs along with Battery, Fight Fire with Fire, Trapped Under Ice, and Dyer’s Eve-and some of James’ best lyrics, Kirk’s best solos, and Lars kills it on drums!
“WE ALL SHALL DIE”
Favorite song from favorite album, Army Infantry ’88 -01. Energizing. Head down, eyes up, sneer. “Not gonna take me, I’m gonna win…!"
This whole album is the greatest metal album ever put on tape. From the opening track "Battery",one of my personal favorites, they set the tone with the lyrics .."Pounding out aggression, turns into obsession! CANNOT KILL THE BATTERY!" Fuckin A Right!
Master of Puppets & Reign in Blood. For me, it's a tie.
Blackened at Seattle '89!
Blackened Is an awesome song
The pace of James rhythm guitar is bananas. While singing. 😮😮😮🤘
Actually written in 85 and cliff did do the bass at the beginning and wrote it and wanted it to be like come sweet death by Bach, he took Bachs version and out his own style into it, this is one of my favorite tunes by them, I was fortunate to see them twice on Master of Puppets tour in Feb and May of 1986 and then cliff got killed , that was a hard day, cliff was the driving force of Metallica back then musically.
Metallica 83-89 is fucking life changing!!!!
This is the song that absolutely cemented me as a metal fan for life!
Brutal thrash attack! In my top 3 Metallica songs
it's my favorite Metallica song of all time.pure never ending aggresion
this song litterally justifies the word ""Metal" in Metallica. My favorite track on MOP.
That song kicks your ass from beginning to End!!!blood will follow BLOOD!!!
Classic of classics. Still holds up... even gets better... after all this time.
Bra the look on your face when the realization hit you that yep, it's Metallica, and then her look, was like, oh my God.🤘🤘☠️☠️☠️☠️💀💀💀
1:14
That face when you know the shit is about to get seriously
We used to look at each other at school and whisper Damage Inc at each other, waiting for someone to say GO!!! We thought we were bad
I could listen to Cliff's bass intro on a loop for hours
I do believe that 3:23 is the most hardcore riff ever brought into this reality. We already know what kind of DAMAGE it can do in this reality, but I bet it shatters all others out of existence lol. By far my most favorite Metallica song. And that’s saying a lot.
Exactly. That riff is literally nuts from all songs in the album.
Kirky baby GO
That intro is like floating towards heaven and then it kicks in and the devil grabs ur leg and takes u down 🤘
It’s such a different era. Even though dudes clearly a metal head. His reaction while listening is still in the hip hop style of liking something while listening.
3:23 My favourite fucking riff by Metallica. Period.
This song just makes me want to jump up and start a mosh pit. Take your aggressive tendencies out on others.
Metallica - Bleeding me. I think she'll love it
It really is a grossly underrated song. So damn good.
Best fucking reaction ever
Anesthesia-pulling teeth. Off of the Kill em all album. In homage to the late Cliff Burton
you guys have the best reaction to this day !!!!! I MEAN IT !!!
insuperable BAND insuperable VOICE insuperable ALBUMS
Love how you just buckle down during the intro and she has noooo clue what's coming...but loves it!
The beginning lulls you in.... then... BAM!!!!!
Roll call at attention!! Asses and elbows!! Move, move, move!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
It’s incredible it was created since 37 years ago … sounds fresh as a hell
Cliff!!!! That intro is him. He could make a Bass make sounds that no one has ever done.
Watching this reaction again now in April 2024 - the same things hit me from you two!!!!
🤘🤘
Power Trip - Divine Apprehension
Power Trip - Hornet’s Nest
Power Trip - Crucifixation
"We chew and spit you out"
You're goddamned right you do.
I remember seeing them on PUPPETS tour opening for OZZY Ultimate Sin tour back in the 80s when I was 15yrs old
THRASH!!! They might not have invented thrash metal, but they perfected it.
Nah man they completely went out on their own level on this album. Elements of thrash sure but not even close to pure thrash this is pure excellence that’ll never ever be repeated. Bands like Anthrax, Exodus and so on we’re on that thrash level while Metallica were breaking boundaries
Actually the lead guitarist of the band " Kirk Hammett " Who invented Thrash Metal in 1978/1979 ( when he started his first band Exodus
They kind of did. Lars being from Europe and listening to nothing but NWOBHM and James being a fan of classic hard and punk rock was the perfect fusion. Kicking out Dave and hiring Kirk who was trying to do the same thing Lars was doing w his own band and then cliff of course was what sealed the deal for them because you had 4 guys who were on the same page and all contributed perfectly. All the copy cats thought being louder and faster was the only way to be better but it wasn’t. The lot of them lack Metallica’s creativity.
@@dmusiclife5727 Ride The Lightning is my FAVE.....taught me how to play drums.......but this record here....DAMN!
@@belliiahmed The origins of thrash go back before Exodus. Motorhead were thrashing in the mid 70's. Also, Black Sabbath - Symptoms of the universe was released in 1975 and it's well thrashy.
You should check out Aquiles Priester playing this song. He just did it a few months ago and it's ridiculous. Thanks for sharing. Much love and respect from Baltimore as always.
All I can do is just smile when I was watching this. I know that feeling 🤟 This song is monster. And still in to this day. Metallica melody mixed with absolute power is just so beatiful. Good reaction, again. You are great people!
Listening these Metallica classic's with headphones is another level!! You realize the greatness of this f..k..n amazing music!! God bless all these thrash classics from the '80 !!!!
James is like... Go... Your like ohhhhh no😂😂😂
I so much loved your reaction back in the day in your car but this one was great too :)
Back in the '80s, I was really into music. I mean from a technical perspective. I was going through vocal training and was receiving a 'classical education. So at the time, I paid very close attention to details within the music. Metallica impressed the hell out of me on a technical level, their instrumentals were dope as hell... though honestly as a vocalist at the time I scoffed at James. But yeah may favorite songs were where their instrumentals were like musical poetry. Master of puppets, Orion, To live is to Die, And justice for all, Call of Ktulu... and more.
The Death of Cliff was a blow to the band in more ways than just losing a friend. Cliff was where their musicality came from, after Cliff their music took on a Pop vibe that I didn't care for. Not to say the music wasn't hard, fast and metal... but it was poppy in its arrangement, incorporating quick hooks and simpler tones. It was far less technical, less poetic, and meaningful in its arrangements.
Thanks for the upload one of the greatest songs written by them in my opinion
Dyers Eve is my favorite Metallica song, and damage inc is very similar.
I always enjoy reactions, even if they don't enjoy metal as much as me. But i think yours is my favorite till now. Keep rockin' you guys, greetings from Perú🤘
Good head banger as I air drum! 🤘🤘🤘🤘 reaction was soooo good watching it again....Damage Inc.!
Such an amazing song from one of the best and iconic albums from the 80's!
Please do more Opeth...
Opeth - Ghost of Perdition
Holy shit! I didnt know what had happened to you. Last time I seen your reaction you was chillin in your ride listening to all my favorite metal songs. Then I didn't see anything, nothing popped up in my recommendations. So just now I see you pop up and you have a listening companion. Which I think is freaking awesome btw. Glad to see you still jammin.
It’s UA-cam. I never stopped posting but they’re shadow banning my content. Is what it is. Only people that do the whole subscribe notification bell thing will be in contact with us. Even than people have said they’re aren’t getting notifications? UA-cam has been flying off the rails lately with peoples channels but it is what it is. Anyhoo good to hear from ya🤘
@@dmusiclife5727 You too!
Love how you guys sprinkle old school Metallica into your channel... absolutely love it!!!! Keep up with the Jinjer reactions.... can't recommend ''Destroy'' from 2011 enough... Tati just joined the band and kills it in the studio recording!!!
This is fun! U guyz have sum of the best reactions I've seen to the Mighty Metallica! OK, U got me! SUBSCRIBED!!
🤘
i am so proud to be a metallica fan since 1985.
Jeff Hetfield the riffmaster! That album is so fucking killer! You guys are the best btw! Greetings from Ecuador 🇪🇨
Another great reaction. Grew up listening to Metallica's music. To live is to die is my absolute favorite.
He's just smiling! Right from the very first notes of the fades. He's just giggling smiling.... Knowing. Probably remembering his first time hearing the ALL Mighty Damage Inc.
legendary vinyl. I say it again, they were so young - it shows their talent and power. And if you see them live (like me last year in Zurich) you see that they still have the fire.
“Orion” has to be next, love use 2,your reactions are killer👽
Your reaction.....is awesome....cheers
Rodolfo Rodriguez 🍻🤘
Easily one on my Top 3 Metallica song of all time..Never gets old. You guys did it again👍🤘
Oh btw: when can we expect to see your reaction to Holy Roller?
I love the build up and then BAM it hits you right between the ears.
Oh, my childhood. Master Of Puppets album on repeat. I entered the heavy metal world with this album. Then there were Sepultura with Beneath The Remains, Fear Factory with The Soul Of A New Machine and Meshuggah with Destroy Erase Improve. \m/
Wait, I know you (c)
My entry to Metal was ...And Justice For All, Vulgar Display of Power, Deicide, Fear Factory, Machine Head's Davidian...and so on!
Damage, carnage, let the bodies hit the floor. METALLICA rules.
Dude, I love your shirt!!
By the way, this is a jam!
🤘🤘
BROOO HAS A DEATH MERCH THATS FCKING BASED🔥🔥
You two are great. I enjoy your true emotions!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤪
The first video I ever watched on your channel.. back in the car.
Love you guys. Keep it up.
Just watched the live performance from Gojira...Pray extended version live at red rocks....i can now say my life is complete....that was the best fucking epic performance I've ever seen...I must see this band live, stay safe and please do that song🤘🤘🤘
SpiritBox dropped another banger
Its called Holy roller
Love the channel
I just heard fade to black...and now this!!.holy shit!!
Cliff’s intro is so good. Yous should react to “Orion” next. One of their best songs
Edit: this is one of my favourite songs by them and every time I hear it I am reminded of how good they are (especially around the time of recording this) I agree with the statement Dylan said “Metallica are one of the badest fucking bands around” nothing can compare to Master of Puppets Metallica in my opinion
I love ur guy's reactions...so pure. She looks like she's in pain & in ecstasy all at the same time. Would like to see u both react to Pantera's We'll grind that axe for a long time & by demons be driven. Keep up the great work, looking forward to more.
Best intro thank you cliff I love how you smiled because you and me knew what was going to happen and she had no idea 😂😂😂😂
I want to see a reaction to Judas Priest - Painkiller.
One of the best metal songs :)
What about anything on Sin After Sin. Classic early heavy metal
Painkiller main riff is just damage inc bridge riff slower
You guys rock and Love the Death Shirt...
Also, this album has some very atmospheric vibes at certain points. Something I noticed over the years of blasting this flawless album
yeah, one of my favs for sure.
the middle riff is Kirk's and it smokes AF!
Cheers, Guyz! :)
