This is legit, one of the best metal songs of all time.
The best**
Its up there with Judas priest Pain killer .Two of the greatest metal songs ever written.
Mustaine is metal's Mozart. Those arrangements, man. Unmatched.
Facts 🙌🏽👏👏👏
Nop but i respect Dave
That last solo is quite possibly one of the best solos even written in a heavy metal song. It is the absolute perfect blend of skill and spectacle
I actually like it more than the Tornado of Souls solo
@@thegameshark8966 Thats blasphemous! Bite your tongue
Carcrashradio Tornado of Souls is one of the greatest solos of all time but I prefer holy wars
@@thegameshark8966 Me too
The last solo is only solo in the song I can play. Both of Freidman's solos (the electric solo and the acoustic interlude) is just beyond my skill level.
Gotta love some Megadeth. Hard to believe this album is 30 years old...
Sacred Reich were touring last year in November and we were talking the last time we saw them and we realized it was 30 years ago. We just could stopped laughing how fast time passes.
Then we thought if we said that back in '89. 30 years ago (1959) there was barely rock&roll. wow
Timeless...
30 years ago when I was a kid listening to this album on cassette, I didn't know it would one day be reacted to on a thing called the internet. And that I would watch that reaction.
It’s a crazy world we live in
TenTonNuke I’m 14. Megadeth is the greatest band of all time. This is the greatest album of all time
Right!? I remember walking to Mainstream Music Store to go find a new metal album and came upon this!! 30 years later it’s still on rotation!
Next thing you know , they’ll take my thoughts away .....
@@thecroissantsquad4284 This is indeed the greatest album of all time \m/
"What is that"?
It is the best metal song. Ever.
One of the best, let us not restrict our ears and close our minds. So many brilliant metal songs out there, it feels wrong to deny them all.
Nope but i like it
@@stevescourou8006 everyone has their best. It just so happens that an insane amount of people agree with him, including me.
this album is a masterpiece next song "Tornado of souls"
Good choice...
Stop.
Take no prisoners is also very good
Riso Didier hangar 18
Hangar 18, lucretia tornado of souls... The álbum is perfect! the best with painkiller for me.
Next song of them: "Tornado of Souls"
THIS is metal Grad School. As a player of guitar (Rhythm and Lead) and as a guitarist working within a band. They took an Iron Maiden trope (galloping), Speed, Mustainism in lead and rhythm, and lyrical depth..." Holy Wars..." is a Master's Class!
Couldn’t have said it better myself man. As a long time fellow guitarist as well/myself
@@dmusiclife5727 I Play bass...though never like any of the greats. I could always understand music (the notes and composition) and technique...I just don't have the manual dexterity. So I sang. That's why the Post-Graduate work I could never perform, but could appreciate....is "Blackwater Park"...your last review. LOL
Playing this and singing at the same time, I don't know how he can do this
Mustainism. Love it.
That is the #1 metal song of all time, imo. It has really held up well over time.
Now show her Tornado of Souls!!!
Some of the greats riffs ever made. Timeless Classic.
Killer song, so many chord changes, Marty and Dave kill it on guitar.
This whole album has really stood the test of time! Good choice!
This was Dave's big middle finger to Metallica lol. Love both btw
I mean ..... it is the greatest thrash metal album ever recorded in the studio.
Still one of my all-time fav.albums ever...
No self respecting reaction channel seems to be able to do without Holy Wars... and rightly so. One of the best metal classics of all time
I concur
It has nothing to do with self-respect and everything to do with views. People loves this album and these copycat reaction channels know it and capitalize on it. Next...Tornado of Souls? Master of Puppets? Gets fucking boring. The one nice thing is spreading awesome music to maybe a few people who didn't know. More power to ya if you wanna do this shit but join the club at this point, basically.
No self respecting? *The hell does that have anything to do with it?!*
@@helsquiades chill dude wtf
Dude, I love your enthusiasm!!
I've been into Megadeth since the beginning, I'm not their biggest fan, but I'm one of them. Lol
When I first met my wife she couldn't believe my love, appreciation, and respect for this band, etc.
We've been together for 14 years, now she totally gets it.
Sometimes it takes 14 years 🤘
From the album 'Rust in Piece"
Megadeth as of this album were:
Dave Mustaine - lead vocals & Rhythm guitars
David Ellefson - Bass guitar and backing vocals
Marty Friedman - Lead guitars & backing vocals
Nick Menza - Drums (R.I. P.)
Rhythm guitar is not correct, because Mustaine can definitely solo, and the ending solo is his doing! Fucking killer solo!
@@rawiri6040 Yes Dave can and does solo......BUT.....he is mainly the Rhythm guitarist in the band. The Majority of the solos are left to the lead guitarist which is Kiko these days.
Best song ever. Me and my mates were playing this in our band when we were 17 in 1992. Dave made me take playing guitar seriously. Thankyou Dave \m/
Love how he’s just rocking out and laughing about how great the song is and she’s just sitting there in awe.
Saw Megadeth live in ‘96 with Korn, Fear Factory, and Flotsam & Jetsom in NOLA. My buddy got his nose broken in the mosh pit. Back then, you only had to be 18 to buy beer, luckily for me. Freaking awesome show!!!
There are a few songs that it never gets old watching people react to. This is among them.
In My Darkest hour. Dave wrote it after learning of Cliff Burton’s death
I did not know that
The riffs was written for Cliff, but the lyrics was pointed to Dayna - his ex girlfriend in those times.
The look of sheer disbelief on her face during the last solo was classic. LOL
This song is KILLER, absolutely loved it, great video as always lml
Love you guys. Went to this Concert in 1992 Hammersmith Odeon in London. Panthers open for them……show for the ages, one of the best ever
Boom! 🤘🏻Next please:
Megadeth - Ashes in Your Mouth
This is the first song off their "Rust In Peace" album and now you have to do the entire thing, it's relentless in terms of intensity and musicianship.. Subscribed man!
Best thrash song ever written hands down imo
Got to see this played live in concert, it was awesome!
one the best heavy metal songs ever keep videos coming
holy wars is my all time fav song JUST for that opening riff my god.. not only that but damn Dave went all in with that album
You need to let her react to every track on Rust In Peace. I just hope she survives it because Holy Wars/the Punishment Due is literally just the beginning of the masterpiece of an album.
Awww yeah!!
Megadeth!!! Keep 'em coming.
Also don't forget to show her some of their heavy but somewhat slow songs like 'In my Darkest Hour'.
My favorite heavy metal song!
I think you opened Pandora's box brother. This whole album is worthy of a song by song (individual videos) play through. One of my top 5 albums of all time.
Whole rust in peace album is metal royalty
Amazing! One of my favorite songs!
5:34 I think it's technically called a 'percussive harmonic'. A sound a guitar makes when your strumming and just barely touching the string on certain parts of the fretboard.
Collin Olevson you have to palm mute when strumming as well I believe
Hold on: there's _Natural Harmonics , Artificial Harmonics_ (also called "Pinch Harmonics") and _Tapped Harmonics,_ and none of them involve Palm Muting. The ones used in this song are natural.
@@revylokesh1783 Yeah you're right it's just a natural harmonic but palm muted
Basically palm muted dead notes
It's same as the intro of Tornado of souls
Mustaine, Dave Mustaine.
He’s the MAN.
I love Holy Wars, I've been listening to it consistently for 6 years now and every time its always a pleasure to listen to
The next time you check out Gojira listen to Space Time live from The Link Alive concert, that song is crazy brutal and groovy, also very melodic, honestly in my opinion its one of their masterpieces, they have lot of masterpieces to be honest but Space Time is by far is one of my favorites
Gotta do "Tornado of Souls" by Megadeth next
You could easy pull 3 diferent songs out of this masterpiece.
True
The greatest metal guitar song ever written.
Awe ...D! And his lovely wife! Just took a break from the madness, (gearing up in the neighborhood) and enjoyed watching your reaction to Holy Wars! This was a powerhouse of a composition. A metal masterpiece! You two stay safe and God Bless from NORCal!!!!
I have the same DeAtH shirt too..................HORNS UP!
Blackwater Park and now Holy Wars..... rolling out the classics! Love your reactions guys, proper enthusiasm. If you go back to Opeth please do Ghost of Perdition [Live at The Roundhouse Tapes DVD] I'm convinced you will both love it. (Eugene from Jinjers favourite band by the way)
This song never gets old. I love this song. Always played at maximum volume.
When you asked "what is that", it was Dave going off, your mind being blown, and possibly an eargasim.
Oh boy, my favorite reactor and my favorite song. Life is good.
The hair on my arms still stands up after all these years.
U guys are the best!! Love yalls videos the most!! MetalForever!!!
This album was a game changer for me when it came out. Love it!!
That half time section at the end of the intro before the lyrics come in gets EVERYBODY! Every reaction video of this song, people always groove to that half time groove. So good!
She was not ready for this one 😂
After the last solo I was like:
Finish Her ...... ( In a Mortal Kombat voice)
\m/ 🤣 \m/
Gojira World To Come Live 2010, it is such a unique Gojira song, you will love it.
She needs to hear it about 15 more times to totally grasp what she is listening to. I have been jamming to Megadeth ever since they came out, sometimes for some people it's just too much information to process at once.
To come out with this track in 1991 - is totally insane. Like 29 years after - its still kickasstotallyinyourface metal masterpiece )
So glad you did this….awesome song!!!! 😊
Happy Sunday y'all, one of the most monstrously amazing openings to one of the best metal albums ever.
When you asked " what is this?!" I answered... Sheer genius! Lol! Five Magics and Tornado of souls are equally awesome!
Love you guys ❤️ big Megadeth fan here keep doing what you do best . Respect from Northern Ireland ☘️
🦾👍🏽 good stuff you guyz! Keep up the great reactions up! Metal is all there is!
Dude you react how I would as well! So much feeling! Fucking masterpiece blew my teenage arse away when this came out. Mad props for the Death "Human" shirt too.
I bought Rust in Peace CD while stationed in Okinawa. Yeah!
I still remember the day I first heard this song when the album came out, and I'm still blown away every time I hear this song.
Nice individual thought patterns shirt dude. I love to see people are still rocking those. I had that shirt in short sleeve back in '94. Early 90's death metal rules. That album remains one the best, most technically crafted metal albums of all time. Fretless bass, and Hoglan on drums. Can't beat that
This song and this whole record is multi-generational, everyone should hear it. My feeling is Rust in Peace and Slayer Reign In Blood are the best that thrash has to offer
Rust, Reign, and Puppets or Lighting, all 4 are masterpieces
I will take Lightening over Master. My opinion
@@jeffblydenburgh5938Valid opinion
Holy wars. Holy shit!!
Just as Dave Mustaine says The Rythm is the Most Important section of their songs...Everything is built around the Rythm Guitar ..He first comes up with a great Rhythm and then starts adding all the other aspects ..Mustaine is the Best Rythym guitarists around and also one of the Best Leads...."MEGADETH FUCKING ROCKS"
GREAT REACTION..
Next you should check out "She Wolf" (Live RUDE AWAKENING SHOW)
You won't be Disappointed!!!!
I'd prefer Tony Iommi as the best rhythm guitarist but Dave is tremendously talented too.
This song comes at you like a Sherman tank with full speed from the beginning.
this is the way i like to see people react to holy wars man
5:35 that's the electric guitar only, he's muting the strings to play dead notes in a percussive way
pranay singh Yep, between the 3rd fret on the low E string. That sweet harmonic spot
Yeaaahhh lml one of my fav songs!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻 Saludos desde Monterrey, México!!
You have great taste in music 😁 Que canción tan padre 🤘Saludos a ti!
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
One of the BEST metal puede ever done, the same with many, many master puedes of mr. Mustaine.
have you listened to Megadeth "Good mourning Black Friday"?? ..you'd love it
It has to be the absolute best metal record. Thrash perfection.
This song's original name is Holy Shit ... The Punishment Due, great reaction guys
Love MEGADETH. Saludos desde Argentina
Man brings me back. I love your guys reactions and would love some more Spiritbox, I love your reaction to Trust Fall its so good, but my recommendation today is Before I Turn-Only to Fall. That is a groovy, heavy ass song right there.
Mike Nelson Right on thanks Mike 🤘
Such a dope track !
Check out their live performance of Hanger 18 to hear one of the sickest songs in metal history and see how fucking epic the guitar playing is!!!
This song never stops kicking my ass...
it was in 1990. I love you guys
How come you haven’t done more megadeth??? You LOVED this song. It’s not even the tip of the ice berg.
Great song. Still holds up after 30 years as if it just came out today.
Rust in peace is just a masterpiece, period.
This dudes a badass🤘🏻
Omg guys, love the reactions, so genuine. PLEASE, would like to see u both do Anthrax's Attack of the killer B's... frigg'n awesome album, funny too. Keep 'em coming.
Megadeth is awesome. Yoh should also react to In My Darkest Hour, Hook In Mouth, Rust In Peace, Tornado if Souls, Sweating Bullets and Peace Sells
masterpiece
One of the best Metal songs ever made
One of Megadeth's best songs, second only to Hangar 18. Thank you for reacting to this one.
I can't wait until you both get into Periphery. I would like you to react to one of Periphery's more recent songs, like "Garden in the Bones," or "Follow Your Ghost," but I'd be happy with a reaction to any of their songs, as long you go off like you do in all of your reactions. XD
Hangar 18 is an amazing shred-fest, but Holy Wars is a far better song.
Serien Z. Plykao ummm are you forgetting reptile? That’s a rollercoaster bro
megadev Holy Wars is definitely better but don’t sleep on Hangar 18
I love hangar 18, but I’ve literally never heard anyone put it over holy wars
@@thecroissantsquad4284 True. Very true.
If you have a chance to see them live, GO! You will not be disappointed. Dave is a perfectionist. They sound as close to studio quality as you can possibly get on stage.
That last Mustaine solo is the best
This is an iconic song!
The album was the best speed metal of that precocious yr , currently Polaris hits me every day as I drive down Polaris Point rd on Guam , where an old Polaris missile resides at the gate 😎hard to even find the original un remastered version , thx !
Dave, Dave, Marty, and Nick really tore shit up.
Every song of this album are amazing!
My favorite SONG off this album
A solid fuckin 10. With outstanding guitar work and guitar solos.
A heavy metal masterpiece.
Not one bad SONG on here.
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Music indeed speaks a universal language, understandable for everyone.
Now, where's Hangar 18?
Such a fantastic album!!
91 after concert in Auckland Nic was just drenched in sweat even with 2 huge fans on him the whole time
