Great video and fantastic customer service. Thanks so much for helping me. I’m super happy with the product and will leave a proper review later. I would also point out that if people are having issues with tuning and have a DAW like Logic or Ableton, you can plug an audio cable into that and use the tuner. It’s also nice to be able to check the tuning of the first oscillator, which you can fine tune using the little dial by the output jack on the back.
I have been tuning guitars for many years and can also tune my flute by ear, but it can be frustrating not being able to get all the three oscillators right on the money and get rid of the beating, so using a tuner on the DAW is a great solution to turn to if you are struggling.
Thanks so much for that insight and hopefully that helps others that are struggling with the tuning process. Thanks again and happy you are now up and running!
Been playing with the midivolts for a few weeks now and it is fantastic!
Awesome thanks! Hope it is going smooth for you!
great device. love my space brain circuits midi volts desktop. paraphonic grandmother!
Thanks so much! Happy to hear you are still enjoying!
Sexy nice! Thanks bro the unit is great, just got mine!
Thank you!
@@spacebraincircuits1358 it took a while but following your step by step videos really helped set it up nice and quick with a bit of practice. Literal electronic witchcraft...
@@simonmurfitt8618 that's great to hear! Thanks for sticking with it! Electronics witchcraft haha I like that!
I'm still loving my MidiVolts as a CC to CV converter. I control my Behringer Neutron from my Roland AE-30 wind synth and the MidiVolts lets me convert the elevation, tilt, and thumbpad to CVs.
Ah cool. I wonder sometimes if anyone uses the CC mode so cool to hear this.
question, so you mentioned at the 5 minute mark or so about how the mid volts only operates and produces sound within a certain range, need some clarification, does this mean that basically setting the octaves really low on the GM will produce no sound whatsoever (on any mode, 1 2 or 3 voice whatever) unless you scale up the octaves into a certain higher frequency so the midi volts produce sound?
So the Moog Grandmother keyboard has a larger midi range than the Midivolts. You can adjust the Grandmother midi range by the left had buttons. So, if you were to adjust the GM midi range super low, the midivolts wont even respond to these midi messages. Once you bring the midi range back up to 36-95, the midivolts will begin to respond once again, indicated the blue LEDs. Hope this helps!
I cant even get duo mode to work. I made sure I was in MIDI channel 1 and local off. I bought the same DC adapter from Amazon. I'm getting nothing
Hey, shoot me a message on Etsy and we can work together on getting you set up! If you are not getting any midi response at all, could be a midi cable issue or the GM is in too low an octave. Try to shift the octave up using the lower left hand buttons.
1:56 this is like the Neutron needing to be "seeded" with a MIDI note to bring up the octaves when being controlled by external CV e.g. the Korg SQ-1 sequencer.
Interesting the neutron also works this way. The concept of starting your base reference is a bit confusing at first.
Hey boss man!
Hadn’t used my midi volts 4-voice unit in a minute. Got it set back up on the grandmother and got her cookin. But when I have all three voices going in poly 3, I get some almost distortion-like noise or crunch. When I just isolate one voice, I don’t get it.
Is this something I’m doing wrong?
Hey! double check your power supply first of all make sure you have a 9v DC supply. 9v AC will create very weird results.
Hmm, maybe check your mixer section. The GM mixer section drives really easily. Maybe try to turn these down a bit? If you are still having issues, shoot me an email and we can keep troubleshooting. Spacebraincircuits@gmail.com
Meant to point out, I have the module. I’ll email you now for some other discussion. Thank you!
@@AlchmstDsgn All good, I just sent you an email!
Where can you buy this at ?
We sell on Etsy! You can search for spacebraincircuits! Thanks!
Does Midi Volts come with a Manual
Yep! This is available on my GitHub. github.com/SpaceBrainCircuits/MidiVoltsDesktop/blob/main/OperatorsManual1.4.pdf
@@spacebraincircuits1358 Will MIDI Volts be on sale on Boxing day or ever
Hey, unfortunately we are not planning on doing any sales this year. We are trying really hard not to raise prices due to the global issues, shortages but as of now, we are trying to hold steady with prices as long as we can. Any way, hope you can understand! Thanks!
