Ratt is easily top 10 and more likely top 5 of all the 80's hair bands. Double platinum level record sales. Right there with Poison, Whitesnake, and Dokken.
Probably the best riff of the 80s.
They were huge in the hair metal scene in the mid-80s. Awesome to see some of the younger generation reacting to these classics we Gen X'ers grew up with. Listen to Warren DeMartini (Ratt), George Lynch (Dokken), and Jake E. Lee (Ozzy and others (Bark at the Moon)). You'll love them. Just look at the Ratt Greatest Hits it's full of great riffs and solos.
My favorite Ratt song is "Way cool Jr."
Warren DeMartini.. sick guitarist!
You know who else was awesome? Robbin Crosby. Not the shredder that Warren Demartini was (is). Different. The secret sauce of Ratt was the combination of the two...they were never the same after Robbin went away
"Steven what did you wish for?" Oh YOU KNOW what he wished for
Ratt was kinda my 80s hair metal guilty pleasure party music. To this day I still will sing along whenever I hear them on the radio or at a bar. I would rank them as better than many of the glam/hair crowd... Poison, Dokken, Warrant and so on... but less mainstream publicity. I think they are firmly in that group just below Motley Crue, Metallica, Dio, Megadeath and the like. Great band, fun, upbeat music.
Wearing one half of a set of earbuds is an awful way to to listen to music... often guitar parts as well as other instruments will tend to be more on one side or the other and sometimes go back and forth. While one of you hears part of the music the other might be hearing just an echo of it. Example, in the beginning of this song there is a guitar slide just before the vocal starts... you can only hear it on the right, so whoever is listening on the left is missing it. If you want to fully hear it in stereo like it was meant to be, each of you should be wearing your own set of earbuds.
If they listen to Van Halen only one of them will hear the guitar 😂… cause the guitar is usually only in one side
@@lucasnavajas4166 Yeah, Van Halen is a perfect example!
Ratt has had it's fair share of inner turmoil over the years. Robbin Crosby (blonde guitarist) died back in the 90s while other members have quit and / or come back. Singer Stephen Pearcy has quit twice and yet he is now they only original member today. You're In Love would be a good song to do next.
Definitely need to check out Nobody Rides for Free!! Epic song from one of the classic movies of all time…Point Break!!! Love you guys!!
They were originally "Mickey Ratt" but changed it to just Ratt.
Popularity-wise, they werent quite Van Halen, Motley Crue, Metallica, etc, but literally just a hair under. They had some fans that thought they were top tier, and in some cases, they fit that bill. Next, try " lack of communication" or for something way different, try " givin yourself away" their last hit from 1991
Loved this song!!
As all these bands they have a couple of pretty good ballad also if you need variation. "Givin' Yourself Away" for example.
Else check out "Dance", "You're In Love", "Way Cool Jr"..
Warren DeMartini took guitar lessons from George Lynch of Dokken. They both have similar picking styles.
They were a mid level band, heavily played on MTV, I saw them open for many headliners, the lead singers voice is exactly the same live. Their lead guitarist is known to be one of the best of the 80’s. Stephen Pearcy is singer and Warren DeMartini is guitarist.
Mid level? lol Google any top hair bands list. Ratt is easily top 10 and more likely top 5 of all the 80's hair bands. Double platinum level record sales. Right there with Poison, Whitesnake, and Dokken.
@@carlgibbons5777 I agree with you, Mid Level was probably not a fair estimation. I guess what I was saying is they typically were not a headliner on stadium type tours. They are one of my top 5 metal bands but just don’t think of them on the level of Motley Crue, Metallica etc.
@@pisanodental Agree:)
You guys are building a pretty good catalog. 80s hair bands are my favorite. I was in high school living through it.
4:04 Ratt is top 5 in my opinion. They admit in interviews they were trying to keep up with Motley Crue. You'll notice when you listen to Ratt, they got a higher-pitched riff. (Their signature sound)
5:21 Warren DeMartini. He's really good!
(Ratt - Way cool Jr) is another cool song/vid
Still ranks as one of my favorite bands of this genre. Stephen Pearcy has a great vocal and the band kicks ass. Warren DiMartini is such an underrated lead guitarist. His name is rarely mentioned when they rank these guitarists but I think he is exceptional. Ratt, at one point was bigger than most of their contemporaries in the early 80''s then surpassed by Motley Crue, but always maintained a high level throughout the 80's until they split heading into the grunge era of music. Their live shows were considered some of the best. Check out "Nobody Rides for Free". Ratt came from a previous band called Mickey Ratt and they just dropped the first part.
Ladies and gentleman the great Warren ( the flame ) Demartini
On guitar !
Way to go Boys... EVERY. I Mean EVERY SONG.. on Out of the Cellar Album. And INVASION OF YOUR PRIVACY Album. ALL KILLER AWESOME SONGS..... MUST BUY THOSE CASSETTES BOYS....CRANK IT. I MEAN ALL THE WAY TO 11......
Guitarist Warren Di Martini, still active in Japan, Iron Bunny I think.
Motley Crue, Cinderella, ratt, krokus, dokken, icon, audioslave, grim reaper, quiet riot, Mama's boys, fastway, YnT, heaven, Vandenberg, these were the best hair bands at that time. 🤘
Body Talk,Slip of the Lip,Wanted Man, Dance, I Want a Woman, Lovin You is a Dirt Job,Never Use Love, You're In Love. They were originally called Mickey Ratt and just shortened it to RATT.
Robin crosby was the main rhythm guitarist...tall dude with blonde hair, Warren dimartinni was the lead guitarist, and yes they were very popular from 1983 to 1988ish
RATT was definitely an upper essechelon top 80's band. Hard to find a song you won't like.
Love this song!
Saw Ratt in 1986 they were amazing in concert! I was 14 at the time
I think they were called Mickey Rat, before changing it to Ratt , dont know the origin though, lead vocalist is Stephen pearcy.
So good!!
You can say they were the kings of Glam rock
Your audio is off when you guys talk. When I say off I mean it sounds really hollow.
Echoing tons of reverb
So good 🎉
Great jam
I play guitar and alot of this stuff and Dokken and Van Halen. Good ear to catch it sounded like George Lynch of Lynch Mob and Dokken
You guys definitely need to listen to lazy days, crazy nights by Tesla. Amazing song and band.
They ranked just below Motley Crue and Poison in Hair Metal. Plenty of rats in their practice studio.
Warren Demartini!
STEPHEN IS STILL GETTING THE 💰😆😆😆!!!! BEEN CRAZY STRAIGHT, STILL SPENDING MONEY FROM 1988!!😆😆😆!!!!
Definitely check out way cool Jr. you will enjoy it’s Blue’s feel
Check out "Unchained" by Van Halen.
Panama is similar riff at the beginning
Reaction to KISS - I Was Made for Loving You
Have you tried Poison?
What you give is what you get is a song on this same album that rocks like this one....
💜💜💜😎
They sound great even though I hate 80's fashion 😆
Think your TUFF
One question is the guy who makes the wish is the actor Jake Gyllenhaal?
Can you please react to Pantera 80s era the Hair Metal era lol and the song you need to react to is like Fire by Pantera
Was called Mikey Ratt then changed to Ratt
Awesome song. 🎧 Check out Van Halen
please react to Lay -psychic mv and rb2u mv
Upper
Flash in pan 80s band.
Barely even look like brothers
Please get your own earbuds for reactions. You’re only hearing half the music.
loved this song for many years and actually blasted it yesterday. very average songs generally though and the whole hair metal thing was garbage. however pearcy has a great voice and guitarist warren demartini was v good. better songs and they might have been decent. try lightnin strikes again by dokken. great track, but again band dull as dishwater.
Guys, are you not smart enough to realize you need to reduce the reflective surfaces around you? WTF?
This is their best tune tho not the most commercially successful. Another awesome DeMartini riff & solo...Pearcy always sounds good but Ratt kinda sucked overall. The rock moves and sartorial choices are funny as hell nowdays.
Sharing earbuds? WTF?
The guitar tone.....I'm pretty sure that is what draws you to it....
