@Caden Muttillo The problem is BoTW 2 is not just an expansion pack and Zelda is their most prestigious franchise. Look at Mario Galaxy 2 which was intended to be sort of like a DLC/expansion of Galaxy 1. It was released 3 years after it was announced. Nintendo, being more picky with Zelda and add up the delay the pandemic caused plus the slower pace they are working at due Covid as well. I'd say it'd take Nintendo about 4 years to develop and fully polish the game. It was announced in 2019 so probably 2022.
Even though there is a pandemic, three years is a long time for a video game that already has a base. I’m predicting that something crazy is going on behind the scenes and that a lot of the base of this game is going to be different
@@tholver5895 I think that it may release in 2-3 years they do have a base but look at a game like Delta rune it's taking a long time till the next chapter and it has a base and we don't have any news and you expect it to release in a year or something? I'm just excited for a trailer and if it takes four years so be it.
Its crazy to remember me watching this in 2014 and then when the game came out remembering that "Horses don't run into trees" so I could let go of the stick when going through forests. I retained that useless information for 3 years.
This looks absolutely incredible so far!! And I'm sure it'll look even better when its released. Not to mention STAR FOX WII U!! I'm just as excited for that too! :D
Alex Umana Sorry man, but Zelda can't compare to Skyrim. Its lore is far richer and is regarded as one of the best RPG's of all time. I just finished Wind Waker, and it was one of the most tedious games I have ever played.
toshtao1 In terms of lore, Skyrim does beat Zelda but, that doesn't mean anything in games. If I just wanted that, I would read a book. I found Skyrim incredibly bland especially without mods. It's combat is about as fun as cookie clicker without numbers and dungeons were hardly designed. Most of them were corridors with enemies. Zelda absolutely crushes Skyrim's gameplay even with a game comprised of the weakest dungeons. Zelda's combat also improves with each iteration where as Skyrim's combat felt worst than Oblivion's to me. Skyrim feels a lot like Minecraft with realistic terrain and lore where Zelda feels like an actual epic.
Came after watching Nintendo E3 2016. Wow, this gameplay pales in comparison to how it is now. I'm glad Nintendo delayed this game twice, seems like this'll be worth it.
yeah but I don't want it to release next to the NX version I want there to be a time distance for the too (mainly so I can get more money to buy it again)
Too bad for you.. It will be a simultaneous release.. It's alright though you can still just get the Wii U version first and get the NX version later when you get the system. (You're not forced to buy them day one - or to buy both versions at all for that matter..)
THIS IS HILARIOUS... i know it did used to be called the NX, but this game in hindsight, The peoples opinion of it being on the now known Nintendo Switch, the release date, the changes they already made to the Game... lol... its all so much
The game isn't even finished and the overworld already looks like it has more content than Twilight Princess, ha! (I actually love TP, by the way. But it's the truth, TP's overworld is just plain empty)
Agreed! But did it look like this world was filled with more content than the empty overworld in TP?? ...I aslo Love TP! Same as you, not cause of the overworld content! ..but yeah, I didnt see a whole lot of "Content" in this video though!... damn, I was initially not even going to watch it....
swordhunter12 Thats true!:) Its the lack of content in Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword that concernes me the most.. those worlds where a lot smaller, and had very little truly rewarding content.. have they learned their lesson? I dont know, as you say, from what we have seen this far, we cant draw any conclusions! Still, Im a bit concerned though!:)
***** On the old GC/Wii hardware to get the graphics we got for those games (_and I would even add OOT and WW to the list honestly_) it was basically impossible to fill the overworld with many details - especially considering that combat, characters and dungeons are the focus of the series. It's not like Nintendo wasn't aware of this problem, it just happens that they couldn't do much about it... Majoras Mask was different only because the world itself was fairly small in comparison to the other installments! This new entry however has a completely new approach, more horse powers to utilize and as such a richer Hyrule than ever before! Now we have to see what "kind of richness" Nintendo is aiming for. Interesting nature with a lot of animals? Something more action oriented with casual events against monsters? Many little secrets/side quests to discover? Let's wait and hope!^^
They should've kept the map on the Wii U gamepad. It would've been a big improvement, versus constantly having to break the flow by going into the menus to update stamps/markers, etc.
Had they given the dock it's own Wi-Fi chip it actually would've been possible to have a dual screen, Air-Cast feature :S but at the same time they were saving R&D money since they were cutting it super close with bets on other parts of the Switch's tech
Although I understand the reason of Nintendo for not keeping the map on the Wii U GamePad (since it would make the Wii U version the superior version), it would have been incredibly awesome like in Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD.
2014- "And this will come out next year." 2015- "Don't worry, it'll be here in 2016." 2016- "It'll be releasing in 2017" Nintendo, I swear to God, if you push it to 2018...
@@OctoHedgy What's so weird is that when they check the world map, it looks really similar to the final version. But then you see the actual environment and it's pretty hard to recognize.
Tbh I thibk at this point the game realy had proper dungeons planed, Bc he said it right as they passed two zonai statues (they prolly weren't called like thst back then, I guess they didn't have it all planed out back then) and in the first teaser trailer for what was go become botw link was chased by a guardian thru the feron region, passing zonai architecture, I ask myself how much they planed on doing with the feron region as in the final game it's bassicly just a huge teaser for the sequel, but I could imagine they initially wanted it in botw already
In Shadow of the Colossus, your horse tends to avoid small obstacles. She usually also attempts to dodge rocks and trees but she doesn't succeed all the time.
bmrjw True, but besides that I can't really think of any. Dynasty Warriors was hard to play on a horse, at least when I played it as a kid. Assassin's Creed was nightmarish riding a horse through the forest. Skyrim the horses can climb mountains. I guess that's sort of like avoiding trees. :p
I got past that ice barrier thing in High Hrothgar using a horse. It took about an hour and at least 20 deaths, but I sequence broke like a boss. I got some pretty neat ores really early. Also, I forgot to mention that in Shadow of the Colossus, your horse avoids ledges by herself. You can try to run her off a cliff but she'll probably reject you and turn toward a safer place.
After looking at what they showed at E3, it's pretty impressive how much this game has changed for the better. I'm actually kind of glad it got delayed. I just wish it would come out holiday of 2016 instead of early 2017.
but fanboys say it wasn't delayed to make it look better, it was only delayed because Wii U was a massive failure, and they delayed it only so it could come out on Switch.
Amazing to see how much they actually changed!! It was worth the wait for sure, replacing the tower design, map design, sound effects and battle theme were all good decisions.
I am in literal tears after I watched this. Zelda is such an important piece of who I am. Seeing this game in this fashion made my jaw drop. Bless everyone at Nintendo. Thank you Aonuma, Miyamoto. I can already tell this is going to be in my top 10

2:28 "This looks a bit suspicious...we must be near a dungeon!" "Mm..." When I watched this back in 2014 I thought nothing of it, but now I see why he went "Mm...".
This is definitely the Zelda game I've been waiting for. It looks gorgeous and the world has so much variety in it. As much as I loved TP and SS, In felt that they were a bit too easy and didn't have much to do. The games also felt like they were holding your hand too much. TP had a huge world to explore, but not enough variety in the field. It just felt empty to me. While SS felt to linear and limited. However, I was pleased with ALBW. The game allowed you to tackle any dungeon in any order, without any annoying guidence. And I'm glad they're bringing it back in Zelda U. This game is like the first original game, except with much vast world to explore. I just hope the exploration will be among the lines of Xenoblade. Exploring huge areas in that game was fantastic and never felt too tedious (and I know XCX will do the same). And this may not happen, but I also hope there's a way to travel in the air as well. And hopefully, there won't be any more annoying backtracking to previous areas like there was in SS. With all those concerns aside, this looks to be the definite Zelda title fans wanted for so long (aside the absence of realistic visuals). With this, MM3D, Codename S.T.E.A.M., Star Fox U, Splatoon, Woolly World, Rainbow Curse, and Xenoblade Chronicles X coming out, I think it's safe to say that the Wii U and 3DS will have some of the best exclusives next year.
While I admit the world looks incredibly vast and impressive graphically, it will have to be very well designed with no dead spaces for myself to feel any different to the way I felt when TP came out. This is what I feel is going to be difficult, because the enemies are going to be much more spread out and far too easy to kill on horseback. As much as people bag SS, I still thought that environmentally it approached Zelda in much more of a platforming sense with noticeably better enemy placement than its predecessors. I can't really see how this can be nullified with such an expansive world, but I guess we'll see.
@@greasi_nugi1967 Most people can't tell the difference. On the Switch, Botw has a 900p resolution, improved textures, better frame rate and higher quality environmental sounds. Both versions are different.
@@medalgearsalad1419 from someone who played the full game two times on both the WiiU and the Switch... no difference at all. What's noticably better about the Switch version is the portability, which is why I bought it again on the system. Not different at all, apart from that.
when they showed the entire map, it was so cool to compare it with the final map and see what changed. Like I could see the great plateau, gerudo desert, hyrule field and castle, hebra, rito village, akala, and necluda, but it looked like hateno village and kakariko village were gone, there was no rainforest in faron, and zora's domain was in a different location. It's so crazy to see how far this game has come
The game is still in development, but it looks so damn stunning and gorgeous already. I can't wait to play the final product. I'm sure it'll be even better in terms of scale and scope when it's done.
I see, with all the information that people have gathered this is what i think of the game: Eiji Aonuma really wants this game to be the best zelda game ever made, you know why? Because the staff has been working in this game for 5 freaking years by now ( they started working on it since 2011) and they delayed the game, they also still dont have an actual release date for the game. Moving to the realease date, im quite sure that they´re gonna release the game in November, 2016. Again, why? Because for such a big title coming up for the wii u its almost necessary to release it in the 30th anniversary (next year). It also gives nintendo enough time to finish their new console, the NX, and probably launch the game in both platforms. And moving to the game itself: The graphics look amazing (and thats good :/ ). The open world : Considering that the world is extremely big, you would need different ways of transportation, something that we clearly see in the trailer, such as the silk clothe and epona, i personally think that they should include the loftwing and the king of red lions. They also should add more interactive stuff to the world, such as side quests, villages, mini dungeons and also sort of like a way to interact with the nature ( something like being able to climb trees and stuff and ALSO witness the change of seasons and climate ). Stuff i would like to see in the game : -New items in the game. -New potions -A system or way to upgrade your items(something like what they did with skyward sword) -New and fun puzzles for the dungeons -New characters in the game -Ganondorf as the main antagonist -A new symphony -Good sound effects -Awesome NEW and DIFFERENT bosses -A long main story. -And an atmosphere similar to te wind waker. I really hope they end up with something really good... THATS ALL I HAVE TO SAY IM SORRY IF I HAVE MISSPELLED SOME WORDS, OR IF I HAD GRAMATICAL MISTAKES, THATS CUZ IM FROM MEXICO.
I wish for all the same things, ESPECIALLY HAVING GANONDORF AS THE MAIN ANTAGONIST. As much as I love these graphics and gameplay teasers, I really want to know what the story's gonna be about. I hope it is very interesting and long. (also I'm a little upset that Link isn't in green but that's hardly an issue compared to everything else XD)
+emiliano cigarroa Youre right. But I want the Graphic Style how in Twillight Princess the darkness and the atmospahre was more for adults. And what i see here is a over ratet cel shading or what ever it calls. The Graphic looks for kids :/ sorry for my bad englisch haha :)
they only took away the game pad functionalities so that the wii u version didn't have a leg up on the switch version and ain't nobody gonna change my mind
I just hope Nintendo doesn't skip out on anything just to get this game out before 2015 ends i can wait if it means it wont be like another modern 3D sonic game *cough cough* Sonic Boom *cough cough*
I really think that Masahiro Sakurai and not delaying the game to 2015 influenced them with this. I just hope Miyamoto doesn't go to hard, he's 62 after all. 18 years older than Sakurai

Even though there is a pandemic, three years is a long time for a video game that already has a base. I’m predicting that something crazy is going on behind the scenes and that a lot of the base of this game is going to be different
@@tholver5895 maybe they could extend the map for more southern towers and erase some parts of the north like the volcano
@@ankitsaikumar6866 possibly, but 3 years for a game company just to add some towns to a pre-existing map seems unlikely

skyrim wipes the floor with zelda...
Darkness1984
Zelda decimates Skyrim, no other gaming franchise is more loved or has the number of high ratings games as Zelda.

Same as you, not cause of the overworld content! ..but yeah, I didnt see a whole lot of "Content" in this video though!... damn, I was initially not even going to watch it....
nintendo forlife Well, just 10sec of it.. when they rode between lots of threes :p But yes, Im a failure!
*****
Well, we've only seen 4 minutes of it so far. We don't know what content the overworld will have on release.
swordhunter12
Thats true!:) Its the lack of content in Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword that concernes me the most.. those worlds where a lot smaller, and had very little truly rewarding content.. have they learned their lesson?
It would've been a big improvement, versus constantly having to break the flow by going into the menus to update stamps/markers, etc.
they made it like that because the switch doesn't have a dual screen function like the wii u
Had they given the dock it's own Wi-Fi chip it actually would've been possible to have a dual screen, Air-Cast feature :S but at the same time they were saving R&D money since they were cutting it super close with bets on other parts of the Switch's tech
They didn't want the WiiU version to be superior to the Switch version. Simple as that.
Although I understand the reason of Nintendo for not keeping the map on the Wii U GamePad (since it would make the Wii U version the superior version), it would have been incredibly awesome like in Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD.

2:27 -> Miyamoto: This is suspicious, must be a near dungeon.
Aonuma: Hm.... about that...

"Real horses don't run into trees very often."
WHY DID IT TAKE SO LONG FOR SOMEONE TO MAKE A GAME WHERE HORSES DON'T RUN INTO STUFF?
So true XD
What about Sleepy Hallow? You know where the Horse went in the Tree?
In Shadow of the Colossus, your horse tends to avoid small obstacles. She usually also attempts to dodge rocks and trees but she doesn't succeed all the time.
bmrjw
True, but besides that I can't really think of any.

"This looks a bit suspicious...we must be near a dungeon!"
"Mm..."
When I watched this back in 2014 I thought nothing of it, but now I see why he went "Mm...".
I'm glad this wasn't released in 2015. It looks so much better with another year of polish.
You mean two.
With this, MM3D, Codename S.T.E.A.M., Star Fox U, Splatoon, Woolly World, Rainbow Curse, and Xenoblade Chronicles X coming out, I think it's safe to say that the Wii U and 3DS will have some of the best exclusives next year.
and their not even finished with the game yet! that's the best part
Julien Maurel *sigh* Do I really need to go through the part where I say "This is just the alpha version?"
Pit ピット I'm just joking. I think there'll be motion and non motion controls as optional. But I also think it will be much easier to use the gamepad.
Julien Maurel what makes this zelda different from others?
"Then we intentionally gimped the Wii U version by removing the gamepad features, so the Switch version would seem superior."

I see, with all the information that people have gathered this is what i think of the game:
Eiji Aonuma really wants this game to be the best zelda game ever made, you know why? Because the staff has been working in this game for 5 freaking years by now ( they started working on it since 2011) and they delayed the game, they also still dont have an actual release date for the game.
Moving to the realease date, im quite sure that they´re gonna release the game in November, 2016. Again, why? Because for such a big title coming up for the wii u its almost necessary to release it in the 30th anniversary (next year). It also gives nintendo enough time to finish their new console, the NX, and probably launch the game in both platforms.
And moving to the game itself:
The graphics look amazing (and thats good :/ ).
The open world :
Considering that the world is extremely big, you would need different ways of transportation, something that we clearly see in the trailer, such as the silk clothe and epona, i personally think that they should include the loftwing and the king of red lions. They also should add more interactive stuff to the world, such as side quests, villages, mini dungeons and also sort of like a way to interact with the nature ( something like being able to climb trees and stuff and ALSO witness the change of seasons and climate ).
Stuff i would like to see in the game :
-New items in the game.
-New potions
-A system or way to upgrade your items(something like what they did with skyward sword)
-New and fun puzzles for the dungeons
-New characters in the game
-Ganondorf as the main antagonist
-A new symphony
-Good sound effects
-Awesome NEW and DIFFERENT bosses
-A long main story.
-And an atmosphere similar to te wind waker.
I really hope they end up with something really good...
THATS ALL I HAVE TO SAY IM SORRY IF I HAVE MISSPELLED SOME WORDS, OR IF I HAD GRAMATICAL MISTAKES,
THATS CUZ IM FROM MEXICO.
