I am not a veteran nor do I have law enforcement experience, so my opinion is just conjecture. If you have experience and can provide some insight feel free to add you comment to the discussion below!

Maybe that one Watch with a loose screw was an exception. I can hardly Imagine this to Happen regularly

I watched your videos and what I can conclude, if Casio actually listens to your complaints, the perfect Rangeman for your kind of usage, should probably be somewhat like this:
Based of the GPR-B1000
1. Digital scroll = no more button lag
2. Sapphire = not easily scratched
3. Backtracking = important map function for the outdoors
but upgraded like this:
1. Remove oxygen & heart rate sensor = reduce size to make it thinner probably to at least a size of the Mudman. Might also reduce costs to cover for the sapphire glass.
2. Use Carbon Core as the casing instead of just resin = helps minize the size as well as added toughness
3. Bezel and band design just like the GBD-H2000 = no more movement limitations for guys with bigger wrists, also helps with not breaking the lug.
4. optional, maybe decrease the solar screen panel size to helps reduce width size. A bit more stealthy, well..as much as possible without compromising other features.
Price wise, it's up to casio, MAYBE release one without sapphire to reduce cost even more. Less on material but maintaining design & function.
You should grab the GPRB1000 and abuse it as such as the gbdh1000, I'm curious how it'll hold. 💀💀 Cheers!.
Great summary! I watch your disassembly videos because I’m interested in how these gshocks are put together. One thing I noticed about the failure on my rangeman is that the screw threads didn’t grip the plastic of the case well. Did you notice that?
For military I'd be more concerned about the battery going dead.
I would never be deployed with a watch that needs a new battery in less than a few years.
For military use the only way to go currently is instinct 2x solar tactical
I’m a first responder, and this watch works just fine. Military personnel would most likely require something that doesn’t give away their position, and can function as a stand alone piece of kit without Bluetooth connectivity

For military, it would not be my first choice. When I was a CTR for DoD, military installation such as DISA will not allow a watch with Bluetooth or GPS, especially in a SCIF. Best G-Shock would be a GD-350, or OG Mudman like the G-9000.

@@JimKinkade Looking at the specs for the GW-9500, I don't see Bluetooth or GPS so that would be a fine watch. You may have to show the guards that it does not have Bluetooth/GPS due to it's large size 🙂

@@JimKinkade not neccesarly, no. My point is that you can break almost anything if you use it in a way you re not supposed to. Like bending the strap outwards for example. The first rangeman wasn t build to withstand that and this one isn t either. Since that wouldn t happen anyway when the watch is on wrist. Mine still has no issur whatsoever.
Combat ready? Thid one is far away from being a military watch, especially with Bluetooth and GPS. And when the battery is low you can't use even the compass or barometer. You need to charge your watch before you enter the battlefield. This is a fitness watch with mud resistant buttons, that's all. It is shock resistant, maybe great for law enforcement or medical rescue teams. In combat you need a standalone, not connected watch. For example, in my country the GPS signal is jammed by the russian military. So the better choice would be the mudman GW-9500 or the mudmaster. I have the first generation mudmaster GWG 1000-1A3ER, with great legibility dial and lume on the markers and hands, compass, barometer, altimeter, sapphire crystal, and tough solar movement.
Anyway, the mudmaster, and citizen promaster series are my favorites.

I work for DHS. On duty I wear Hamilton or Rolex. I prefer analog and mechanical movements
You guys must be making bank to afford such luxurious timepieces. Most of us first responders sport G-Shocks or Timex

@@JimKinkade I think so. It’s a double edged sword though. I like the idea of a companion that can be handed down and last generations with no battery that can leak or electrical components that can fail.
Analog definitely helps to gage time for strategy/planning.

what type of combat? dry combat? wet combat? police street cats could use it, they don't exercise so much, but for a military guy that's very far from the first choice....my first choice for a dry military combat would be Marathon GPQ 34 mm, street cats can use some older Rangeman, that's ok 😀😀😀
