Very good receipe and instead of water you can use tamarin sauce with boiling water to add another layer of fragrance. To replace the salt, Belachan powder can be used. Since I didn’t have gula melaka, I used brown sugar with coconut.

Actually babi pongteh n chicken pongteh are also authentic peranakan dishes.
U may add both together if u wish.
