Love seeing the teardown, but I do wish there was commentary on the materials and construction. Yes, I know that was done in the cut in half episode, but I think there's a lot to explore and learn about in a teardown like this as well.
Weston, are you interested in cutting up my basic training boots from 1999? They look very similar to Altama 10" all leather combat boots. Stamped 10 1/2R j (inside a square) 4m97. I'll pay the shipping. They are just collecting dust.
I find your channels interesting and informative. Normally I can watch you rip apart something like yeezys without a flicker of emotion, because I have no respect for something cheap that's had it's price artificially inflated. While I can appreciate the look inside of these, it gave me a dirty little feeling, like I was watching someone destroy the work of master craftsmen.

Now that was a Zen experience, and better with no commentary, let the images reveal all, it is gorgeously simple, though complex construction full of natural materials (Not sure about the man-made thin sole though). This is a great video and I really enjoyed it. Thanks very much.
So many question about this shoe! $526 just on materials. Actually make the shoe worth it. Now to learn if the material is high quality compared to less expensive shoes, the quality of stitching is better compared to less expensive shoes, and the stitch reinforcement is necessary. Is the hand stitching really done by cobblers/trained artisans or cheap labor taught to stitch together pre cut pieces and follow instructions? I’ve built leather wallets from a kit, I’m not trained. Even though their labor is worth pay, it’s not the level of quality of cobblers who have done their profession for years. So many question!
Cool video. I think the showcasing of the shoe at the beginning was too short and too fast to really see the shoe. At the end, I'd suggest grabbing a bunch of all of those clips taking the shoe apart and smashing into together in reverse as an end to the video. Great job.
I hope this comment gets found, I sub to all three anvil channels, we would like a video of all cordovan shell footware brand comparison as well as a video that compares these newer exotic hide compares to more common top quality hide.
I would never own a pair of shoes like this not because of the cost, but because they aren’t my style. Still, watching this was painful. Invest in a couple of better tools for these kinds of jobs: a decent plastic spudger and a putty knife. Keep the X-acto knife, but ditch the screwdriver.
it's not really a 'fake material'. that leather there doesn't look 'leathery' too me (not that i ever had that particular expensive leather in my hands). sure- it doesn't wrinkle and it's nice, but those shoes just simply look cheap to me and a couple of non-shoe-interested guys at work i've asked about. maybe not super-cheap like, but deffinitely not £800. whatever floats their boat, if they found a niche market to cater for than it's good for them
@@simongrushka983guess you missed the $526 price tag for just the materials. Only $400 for the hours of labor to assemble. They are a bargain. That's why the cost so much. And those high quality materials and craftsmanship will last decades, unlike the cheap stuff that falls apart in a year or two. Not my style, but I'd love to have similar build (material and craftsmanship) for a smooth toe black Oxford with a leather sole. Since I'm 50 they'd last longer than I will.

54 months to " make" the shoes?. No way. Shoes aren't made until all the materials are on hand. Then, it takes a maximum of a couple of days.
Maybe Crown Nothampton should have just sent you the bits before assembly - wouldn't be so painful to watch! 😀
