The reality is: if you are rich and famous your *HOTDUPS* will be seen as authentic. If you are just an average 9 to 5 office worker your authentic bag will most likely be seen as a fake.
Leather is a incredibly tough material and in some cases machines can produce a better finished part than human hands can. The machines in the beginning of his video, the punch and skiving machine can produce a more consistent piece than doing it by hand. I see no harm in trying to make the end product as perfect as possible. It’s obvious that the maker assembled this piece by hand with superior results. This bag is heirloom quality that will out live us all and will be passed down to future generations. You just can’t ask for more than that. Job well done!
I carry the Square Bag, which is the best bag/handbag *HOTDUPS* has ever carried, it has a lot of space and is well made, I have used it for several years and I have no regrets!
A craftsman at his trade is a beautiful thing. Your attention to perfection is amazing. That video is so far beyond excellent it is what everyone should aspire to become. You are one talented man.
You and My Mechanics are my favourite channels to watch as they're just a master artist at work and nothing more. I could never afford what you charge for your creations, but you deserve every cent of it. I'm glad I get to at least witness the process. Incredible work my dude.
All these people coming at you about the “handmade” must not know how mass produced products are really made. Awesome video as usual, awesome product as usual. You inspired me a few years back to buy my first leather tools (Amazon special 😂) and I have enjoyed it ever since - just started upgrading to some higher quality Barry king type stuff this year. You are an inspiration to so many people, keep rocking on🤘🏼
I dont think it's that, I think some of it might be because it's unintentional click bait. The title says "hand made" so you think your watching a video to be able to do this yourself only thats not what you get unless you also have machines. The reaction is subjective for sure but that's perception.
I have never in my life seen someone try to say something isn’t handmade bc they used power tools. Until this video. I’m guessing most of them are people who have little to no experience using any tool other than maybe a hammer.
The debate is using tools vs sewing machines. If this bag was hand stitched the price would be very high and it would take a long time to make... If you are a purist then then is not 100% hand made......if you are not then it is. Either way you can't deny the quality from this man.
There is a YTC from Japan that only use nails, cutter and other tools, but not machines. Everything need tools for to make anything. Dextrecity and expiriency make the diference. GOD JOB!
It's so wonderful to watch the process. It is also remarkable how far you have come along both in your craft and in your filmmaking since your uncharted satchel video years ago. That video was what got me into leathercraft and made me appreciate quality leather goods.
Don’t care what the comments say. Everything about what you did is handcrafted. Machines are meant to be used as tools just like your basic tools. You’re using your hands to produce quality work and that there my friend is why you’re successful.
I remember watching the uncharted video in the attic years ago when I was wanting to get started in leather. Ive got a halfway decent leather shop now that’s strictly hobby and you continue to inspire me. Watching you work never gets old.
Great piece of craftmanship, and I can't understand why anyone would complain about this not being handmade - it absolutely is and all the important parts were completed by hand and by focusing all attention on one product at a time!
oh, and one more side note - the film-making looks to be massively improved also, not that anything was bad before; this just seemed brighter, better colour-corrected and composed as a whole ✌ 💛
Massively improved is an overstatement. His videos were really good early on. His skills in making videos caught Peter Mckinnon's attention as much as his leather craftsmanship. His older videos capture so well the ambience of how artisans' workshops are all over the world. Emphasis on the maker, his tools & a small room with table lamps.
Request to park all the debate about handmade and using machines, just enjoy the video. It’s a treat to eyes. I just loved this bag so much! I mean I have never seen any appealing leather bag in my life. I wish I could touch the bag!! God bless you and keep crafting❤
I am totally impressed with the craftsmanship of this satchel. Outstanding! I just love these kinds of videos. I've been taking a sewing class to learn about how these things are done. We live in an age where everyone wants things mass produced. But you can't beat a hand crafted object. This is why I'm taking classes about sewing. I want to get into making appulstery for sailboats and Bimini tops and dodgers for boats. But I'm fascinated by other yhings that are in different fields. I would like to add these things into what I want to do. These innovations that you can introduce into a different field will set you apart from the rest. Not to mention that you are on your own with no boss yelling at you to produce more to justify his wages! Great job, you do exceptional work and quality.
So great to see more of your work and designs. I really like how you have modified your satchel. Obviously, you have some sourced some exceptional leather for your new Museum version. Can you speak to this stunning leather, what it is and how it differs from other lots you have used previously? I don't recall seeing you cover your anvil to prevent scratches in the past and your comments certainly suggest you are as taken with the quality as we are. Thanks again for sharing your amazing hand-crafted skills and passion!
I may not be able to build a brand like LKG but I'll try my best to get really good at the craft and producing build video that would inspire people to learn leathercraft and appreciate the beauty of them all just like you did Ryan. Thank you for this amazing work. Long Live Little King Goods.
I got great pleasure from watching the master's work. Excellent organization of all processes. Everything is thought out to the smallest detail. Thank you for the video.
Just want you to know that that is amazing work you’re doing and one of the reasons I wanna get into leather work is because of you. Thank you very much for your show.
Amazing work and craftsmanship! I simply don’t understand those who say it’s not handmade when it clearly is done with immense skill and effort! How does using tools make your art any less authentic? Anyways, would love to get a bag like this one day!
I would love to have one bag like this one day, if i, in some point in my life have money to buy one those that would be a very happy day. But how i live in Brazil probably i will never have money to have one of those. Keeping postin man, your videos are realy enjoyable to watch.
This again raises an interesting question, and not having a go at Ryans skill. He's a master, but I have to ask at what point does something become not handmade. I'd have to say that this bag is NOT handmade. Its hand assembled and finished. Its cut by machine, sewn by machine and thinned by machine. It definitely makes production easier and faster. Calling things like this hand made, makes it harder for those of us that do absolutely everything by hand.
I hear what you're saying and it may be unfortunate but I don't think you get to dictate where that line is. I saw him using his hands throughout the entire process. When you make leather did you tan the leather? If you use a hammer, did you make the hammer? Did you make the needles with which you stitched the leather. I know he used machinery in the hand making process but I consider this bag handmade. I think it is up to the buyer to decide.
Brutally honest but necessary. Thats why this channel really fell off. It became less relatable. Thousands and thousands have been poured into these machines, which is great for business, but I lost connection to this channel years ago.
Absolutely beautifull. But using machines for everything is killing the vibe a little bit, at least for my taste. Thining edges with a proper knife is so satisfying to watch, hand stitching is kinda meditative,... I once made a bag like this and it took me weeks to make, days and days of hand stitching. Let alone a lot of headaches until I got everything the way I wanted it because I did it with no template, no instructions.... Keep it up!
When I worked for Louis Vuitton they taught us about how they don’t use glue in any of their leather goods. Would be cool idea next video to see how can you make a leather bag but without any leather glue
I really love your taste and style always so chic. My faves would be the kislux leather backpack and the Swarovski pave diamond ring so gorg. Thank you for your recommendations.

I wish I could see this bag in 50 years… I bet it would look gorgeous all worn in and used.
I’m sure it will age well especially with this leather 🤙🏼
I'm lucky to have one and mine is 4 years old. It's amazing. I always get compliments on it and it is aging perfectly. Buy one, you won't regret it!
@@LittleKingGoods what leather is that exactly?

Actually I prefer the old color grading. This is too much saturated. The skin colour is too orange.
