Obviously that's true, but it's a terrible response. Some people like myself are often genuinely indecisive or lost with deciding, and as such want to hear people's thoughts on things. They're almost always going to be like 80% opinion, but it helps inform decisions.

Cronk, I actually don't think that's true, especially if it's a new player. Sometimes the class that you enjoy playing isn't the class that you're the best at, and you should play with the class that you play the best at so that you can get the best results. It's a competetive game, right? I think a lot of people would enjoy playing with Warlock, because Warlocks look cool, have a cool backstory and can deal alot of damage. But Warlock is still hard to play for some new players, so just because he's enjoyable and cool, it doesn't mean that he's the best fit for you. Some people are naturally better at close combat, quick thinking, fast button pressing and fighting for themselves. Other's are naturally better at aiming, attacking from a distance, planning things and thining about the group. This all applies heavily to figuring out if you should be a type of damage dealer (melee or range), a healer or a tank- and most classes don't even have all these options, hell.. - a lot of the classes only have damage dealer options! So yeah, what you enjoy playing isn't always the same as what you're good at, sometimes you're forced to pick a class that maybe isn't your favorite because it makes you play better... I always enjoyed snipers the most in FPS games for example, but I still suck at being a sniper, and so I rarely play them, even if they're fun (I play sniper in Fortnite though but they're really good there).
I have been playing Hunter since vanilla (varying in specs) and i still think this is the best pick for me, i have all the other classes maxed aswell but i always return back to my hunter. I just like the way of bow & arrow combat.
I absolutely love my Frost Mage. First class I ever played back in tbc, and went frost from the outset. Although I have played the other specializations, frost for me can do an amazing amount of damage and I can pretty much keep her alive. A frost nova, or elemental pet's frost nova and a blink away, and invisibility if things get too much. Polymorph has literally been my life saver on many an encounter. I fondly remember having to polymorph in Magister's Terrace back in the day, and los pulls. I still use the spell now in solo encounters, just because I love to turn things into cats, sheep, pigs or rabbits ;) Miss my polymorph penguin though :/

I notice that with the evolution of classes, there's usually the 4 main classes, (Warrior, rogue, priest, mage) then the classes after them are a hybrid of those classes (Warlock, Paladin, Hunter, Monk) (Warlock being sort of a mage + priest or a mage hunter, depending on how you look at it, Paladin being a warrior priest, Hunter a rogue warrior, monk sort of a rogue priest) Or Jack of all trades based around nature ( Shaman, Druid) and THEN all the special DLC classes are like a combination of 3 classes, with the 3rd class making it Necro or Demonic. I mean, Death Knights are like an unholy paladin, or a warlock paladin. They're already based on a hybrid class, now it's added another aspect and made into a necro class. In a way, the Demon hunter is like if you took the basic idea of a monk, but replaced the restoration aspect with warlock. It's almost like a rogue warlock or monk warlock. I'm wondering if the next HUGE ultra powerful (for a while) class would be the straight up necromancer, being a high up clothie. Perhaps it would also have a scythe and be like a dervish. The classes that Wow has yet to introduce would be: The Battle Mage (Warrior Mage) The Night blade (Rogue Mage) The spell sword (combat rogue, mage) Bard (rogue healer, which seems to be what the monk is, but this would be a more western inspired jack of all trades). In a way, the Shaman and druid classes kind of have hit that. The elemental Shaman would be like the offensive middle ground between a spell sword and battle mage. The Balance druid would be the defensive, tanky battle mage, especially if combined with a holy shockadin. And the Bard, a jack of all trades focused on healing, would be found between the combination of a healer monk and resto shaman. In a sense WOW has put things out there like Battle Mages, Spell swords, etc but they aren't in one spot. Still, the aspect of yet another stealthy rogue like class, but dependent on certain spells, has yet to be made. As would a straight up plate wearing offensive spell caster that has some melee (I guess it would be like a paladin, but the empahsis on healing vs shock spells would be reversed).
I started out maining an Outlaw Rogue, then a finally made a Havoc Demon Hunter, and I haven't looked back. Having a movement ability tied to your rotation is a fun and refreshing way to play, and the attack animations look awesome. Also, the new Warglaives look so cool, I can't bring myself to transmog them, even though everyone has the same ones. xD
I'd say guardians actually has a higher skillcap on tanking than warriors, and many youtubers have rated them higher than warriors. And I like to not having to just spend rage on ONE skill.
I'm commenting from BFA but Holy Priest is my jam. I started out as a Protection Warrior Troll in Vanilla (where my username comes from, I don't get a lot of joy from messing with people), but I left early into Burning Crusade. I came back in Legion and made a Blood Elf Priestess, and I fell right into the class, especially holy spec. I understand that in dungeons Discipline is more optimal, but it requires a lot more micromanagement, and holy healing is a zen experience for me.
This is an amazing video. You include the fantasy aspects as well as the practical abilities which makes each spec you go through sound so cool to play. This is why I can never get anyhwhere in this game I just want to play every single class and spec at once! i would have been very depressed in Vanilla.
I quit this game a week before Cataclysm came out. From time to time i look at different videos. This is the video that did not annoy me with stupid music and stupid comments. Well made video and well explained. Although i won't play this game anymore (too much of a life sucker) i just subscribed to this channel. WELL DONE!!!!
This is an excellent resource on WoW classes and has, what, half a minute on what class to play. Good half minute though, but I was already looking for a fun class that looks good.
Shaman all the way in Legion. Ive never been good at having a main cause I've always been a huge altoholic but the class right now feels so good I want to focus all of my attention on it.
Legion will ironically be a bad expansion for warlocks. There is actually a large thread on the warlock forums complaining about the OBVIOUS neglect Blizzard has given them this time (neglect Mages never seem to feel they would add)
i was dps for years then once i started tanking...WOW pretty much became able to beat the game way faster...like unreal how fast you can get stuff done..now i DK tank..and been building all the tanks..

I main a ret pally, im extremely happy with it, they are fun and pull in a massive dps, dont follow what the guy said about them being crap, definetly recommend them
Any good group will just let the dps that pulls by himself die only a bad healer would heal him/her if they pull a group of mods then kick out of the group and as long as the group does not attack the mobs will not attac
Excellent Documentary, thank you. Great job at exploring and outling all of the choices, there are just so many things that a player has to make sense of. It is the key to make the game fun verses just laborious.
As someone who's only played twice, once in vanilla up to level 10, and once again recently, again up to level 10, I really appreciated it. Way to be one of those guys that's been playing WoW so long, he can't recognize something as beneficial to someone who hasn't.
As soon as i get WoW i will start like with hunter etc. to get to know the mechanics of the game, then i will switch to main Death Knight for 4 reasons 1. I love how it looks, 2. I love the Litch King, 3. I like its spells and 4. I love the Legion Doomknight in a game called Adventure quest worlds and i think this will be just the one for me....

This guy is half right on some of the classes and does a fair job describing the classes but as I said, not always right. For example he says warriors are the only rage class but bear druids use rage. I noticed other things but the rage thing was the last time I could take it.
I miss to play wow. I miss mage, warlock, druid, paladin, priest, death knight, hunter, rogue but demon hunter and monks are new to me i havent play wow since when i was in high school! Hopefully im gonna play it again this year.

I love the Warlock myself. I take something of a sadistic glee in both Affliction and Destruction. Not much of a Demonology guy though. My only gripe with the class is that my favorite Race, the Worgen, don't look good as cloth wearing spell casters. It looks awkward and Running Wild especially looks silly in a robe.
I Main a Belf Warlock, and have usually gone as a Demo Lock, and secundary as a Destro. Cause I often have been soloing things, I have seldom to never run as an Affi.
Personally, I prefer melee damage and any form of magic, combined into one class. This is why the classes I usually stick to are paladins, death knight's, shamans, druids and sometimes warrior. I am looking into playing demon hunter, but I have to wait until my elf is high enough to unlock.
Honestly your like me but for the horde o.o I have like just about every spec and class in a Night Elf with the same hair cut, face, markings, and usually hair. Idk.. the hair model just attracts me okay ;; of the Tomboy one... THEIR SO MAJESTIC ;;
Actually Arcane mage is my favourite xD And... I have always mained a retri paladin, and I am not unhappy on his current position, it actually has super cool playstyles with talents

Lol prot warriors deserve more of a mention, I could keep a blood dk down with ease, pop all your CD's and your basically invincable, back in WoD is was death incarnate with Gladiator stance, well with the right gear and not many used it but it was really good
I came back to the game after a year off and rolled up an MM hunter. I hate it. But i found a spec i love....Windwalker Monk. Most fun I've had in years.
This is probably a newbie question, but what are the transmogs on your hunter armor? You look like a blood elf green arrow and it looks badass. And your fighter as well if you could find the time
I really like quite a few classes, but none of them are perfect enough for my needs that I can lock down a main. I'll get a hat, or maybe a dart board to help me make my decision.
hmmm, its down to Death Knight, Demon Hunter or Hunter for me. I like the idea of DK because I really like classes with high survivability and it seems a DK can survive a lot of different PvE situations. Demon Hunter appealed to me because they seem very Mobile and agile. I like the ability to double jump! and come on, you get Wings!! Hunter because of Nostalgia, I stated playing WoW pre BC and I levelled a hunter right through until WotLK! I fell in love with my beast master spec! I had my own personal tank and I died so seldom it was great! plus you get Feign Death! the ultimate get out of jail free ability! now which to choose...

I was going to play Demonology Warlock once I saw the class revamp, but after playing it on the PTR and the pre patch, it feels really clunky and has terrible target switching capabilities. Probably one of the best for soloing things though with strong self healing and tanking pets. I think I'm going to go with my second choice of Unholy DK with Blood off spec and maybe alt a Shadow Priest or Paladin.
Very informative, but Id have preferred a shorter how you feel about each and then a different video about the classes. But just my opinion, it didn't make it unwatchable, and i guess maybe some of the things you touched on when explaining were things to key me in on my thoughts about what class I will play. - Game plan is to play warlock. All the specs seem fun and good this expansion. I am finally giving my warrior tank after 10 years the rest he needs. Thinking If I tank I will go Demon hunter. Might splash hunter and shaman in here or there or maybe druid as I finally leveled one to max. I em even leveling a rogue now and really enjoying it, though I think Demon hunters will just always have them beat. (monks, mages, and demon hunters are never fun to me, and they seem like they will remain that way in legion.) Pally is kinda meh, might be might back up tank but I hate to heal and rarely enjoy the ret spec.
Disc Priest was my favorite spec when I played and the changes sound very interesting. How have dungeon groups generally responded to getting a Disc Priest as their healer? Do their unique mechanics make them a bad choice for any of the dungeons?

this was very helpful giving me some in-depth on classes that I hadn't played before and was unsure of what to go with
Death Knights hands down. Especially Nightelf Dks. They are so handsome

The only thing from warlocks wich is given do dh's is metamorphosis
...the first thing before anything else is whether you are going to play Alliance or Horde and the racial abilities really do make a difference.

Never picked up WoW because I didn't want to pay 5 billion dollars for all the previous expansions.
I love the Warlock myself. I take something of a sadistic glee in both Affliction and Destruction. Not much of a Demonology guy though. My only gripe with the class is that my favorite Race, the Worgen, don't look good as cloth wearing spell casters. It looks awkward and Running Wild especially looks silly in a robe.
I Main a Belf Warlock, and have usually gone as a Demo Lock, and secundary as a Destro. Cause I often have been soloing things, I have seldom to never run as an Affi.
I can relate to the guy, he has like 20 Blood Elves. The best race.

Personally, I prefer melee damage and any form of magic, combined into one class. This is why the classes I usually stick to are paladins, death knight's, shamans, druids and sometimes warrior. I am looking into playing demon hunter, but I have to wait until my elf is high enough to unlock.
Honestly your like me but for the horde o.o I have like just about every spec and class in a Night Elf with the same hair cut, face, markings, and usually hair. Idk.. the hair model just attracts me okay ;; of the Tomboy one... THEIR SO MAJESTIC ;;
Actually Arcane mage is my favourite xD And... I have always mained a retri paladin, and I am not unhappy on his current position, it actually has super cool playstyles with talents

I was about to hate the video without watching because i thought u were going to tell me which was the most op class and thats so fuckin bad when people say it but actually i liked the way u explained the things so nice job :) +1 like.
Just saying that elemental shamans Can have both really High single target dmg or quickly dealing dmg depending on which talents you choose

Lol prot warriors deserve more of a mention, I could keep a blood dk down with ease, pop all your CD's and your basically invincable, back in WoD is was death incarnate with Gladiator stance, well with the right gear and not many used it but it was really good

I came back to the game after a year off and rolled up an MM hunter. I hate it. But i found a spec i love....Windwalker Monk. Most fun I've had in years.
This is probably a newbie question, but what are the transmogs on your hunter armor? You look like a blood elf green arrow and it looks badass. And your fighter as well if you could find the time

I really like quite a few classes, but none of them are perfect enough for my needs that I can lock down a main. I'll get a hat, or maybe a dart board to help me make my decision.

hmmm, its down to Death Knight, Demon Hunter or Hunter for me.
I like the idea of DK because I really like classes with high survivability and it seems a DK can survive a lot of different PvE situations.
Demon Hunter appealed to me because they seem very Mobile and agile. I like the ability to double jump! and come on, you get Wings!!
Hunter because of Nostalgia, I stated playing WoW pre BC and I levelled a hunter right through until WotLK! I fell in love with my beast master spec! I had my own personal tank and I died so seldom it was great! plus you get Feign Death! the ultimate get out of jail free ability!
now which to choose...
The answer is simple: Play which ever class you enjoy. There; done.

I was going to play Demonology Warlock once I saw the class revamp, but after playing it on the PTR and the pre patch, it feels really clunky and has terrible target switching capabilities. Probably one of the best for soloing things though with strong self healing and tanking pets.
I think I'm going to go with my second choice of Unholy DK with Blood off spec and maybe alt a Shadow Priest or Paladin.

Very informative, but Id have preferred a shorter how you feel about each and then a different video about the classes. But just my opinion, it didn't make it unwatchable, and i guess maybe some of the things you touched on when explaining were things to key me in on my thoughts about what class I will play. - Game plan is to play warlock. All the specs seem fun and good this expansion. I am finally giving my warrior tank after 10 years the rest he needs. Thinking If I tank I will go Demon hunter. Might splash hunter and shaman in here or there or maybe druid as I finally leveled one to max. I em even leveling a rogue now and really enjoying it, though I think Demon hunters will just always have them beat. (monks, mages, and demon hunters are never fun to me, and they seem like they will remain that way in legion.) Pally is kinda meh, might be might back up tank but I hate to heal and rarely enjoy the ret spec.

Disc Priest was my favorite spec when I played and the changes sound very interesting. How have dungeon groups generally responded to getting a Disc Priest as their healer? Do their unique mechanics make them a bad choice for any of the dungeons?
*My eternal love is Priest and I like playing ranged and if I am supposed to play melee I like Paladins. They are sassy same as priest* 😂
