Krita doesn't screw anyone over with subscriptions and training AI on people's work so I think the answer is obvious

@@SealsteakIf Clip Studio Paint incorporates any sort of generative AI into its software, then yes.
There MAY be an option buried somewhere in the settings to opt-out of letting AI use your work, but I cannot state that for certain.
Adobe Photoshop, in its current edition, does have an opt-out option, I’ve heard!
I’m use Krita almost exclusively, though hop into Photoshop CS6 sometimes too because of a specific pencil brush set I love.
I bought Clip Studio Paint recently after I used Krita for like 7 years. Mainly because I want to make a webtoon and Clip Studio Paint is mainly made for comics. But oh boy... Krita is so much better when it comes to the general drawing process.
Things in that Krita is better than Clip Studio (my opinion):
-Amount of Brushes.
-The feeling of the brushes.
-The UI.
-Generally more convenient.
-Inserting reference images. (It's SO MUCH more better)
-The mirroring tool is on a simple hotkey.
-Eraser.
Things in that Clip Studio Paint is better than Krita (my opinion):
-Transformation tool.
-3d Models. (Really good for people who suck at backgrounds like me)
-Large Asset store.
-Everything that has to do with comics like speech bubbles, panels, text, etc.
My conclusion: Clip Studio sucks for me when it comes to just simply drawing something, but is a REALLY helpful tool if it comes to making comics specifically. Personally, I will use Krita and Clip Studio paint at the same time.
the fact that I used CSP for years and I'n here giggling with excitement while trying Krita is wild to me xD Everything is so much easier in Krita, the assistant tool for perspective just make sense and it is so easy to enable or change the snapping, the Liquify brushes are sooo good and fast, can check my values in greyscale with one shortcut from the get go instead of redoing the setting in every piece
I found out so easily how to quickly flip and to change the hotkey

I'm a beginner artist for digital stuff (coming from pencil and paper for a long time) and my brother, who's a lot better at art than me recommended me Krita and I've been using it since. I can only do cheesy little doodles of anime characters I like so far. I also tried the mobile version of Clip Studio Paint and was fascinated by the results and I'm also looking at Photoshop as well for when I wanna step up someday.
Photoshop is pointless if your main focus is on 2d drawing, frame by frame animation, comics etc. It isn't designed for drawing or painting and both Krita and CSP have far superior default brushes and resources for comics and such than photoshop. Also Adobe are an immoral, messed up company training on your art for AI and breaking data protection laws and carrying out shady business practices in their subscription model.
I saw where Adobe became corrupt. I'm going to stick with Krita and a friend of mine also told me about a program called FireAlpaca. Clip Studio Paint looks good as well.

4:10 One correction, by default Krita comes with over 200 brushes (I've counted them) and you can even download more if you want on their resources page. Maybe few appear because you did not activate the others in the resources menu.
Hm I didn’t know it came with so many, I have downloaded a few and there are many more that could be downloaded, that’s a good point
@@BeeAnneArt Yeah, maybe you don't have them activated. Look at the brush bar, there should be a square symbol, click on it and you will see all the brush packs there are. Just click on them to activate/deactivate.

I've used clip studio for years, was happy with it until they started making us upgrade to use the more advance features, which is costing more than it is worth. there's models and other assets i can't used because i didn't shell out enough money to get past "pro" version. which sucks. Plus the animation frames they give you in Pro version is a totally Rip off,, not enough to do anything with. If you ask me they just hiding all the stuff behind paywall features. they used to not be this way. I remember when it was called Manga studio thats when it was really great. I'm seriously thinking of switching Over from RIP studio to something else. I hardly ever complain about anything but this here actually got me ranting lol
My advice is use your hand as a reference for hands same goes for feet & along with how to draw books are also a good idea to look as well or a drawing figure when u can get one
I prefer Krita for the brush system, it feels more geared towards direct digital painting.

the layout dosnt look like straight from 2009
the brushes/assets market is god sent
i got no issue with the subscription as i bought the full version on pc with all money down, but on my galaxy tab. is quite annoying.
but at the end of the day both are just tools, you can make good art even in ms paint. no need of a fancy software. tools are made to help you create not to make u better
