I agreed with that Clip Studio is more powerful than Medibang but one thing I can't understand why many artists say Medibang interface is Unintuitive and No user friendly. For me, Medibang is too simple and easy to understand without any tutorial, but Clip studio interface is too complicated and need to search the tutorial every time to do something.
Agreed when I first used clip studio I was so confused and ended up losing one of the side bars because I pressed the wrong button. I didn’t get it back until after searching for what to do.
@Bionic thats.... normal. its called learning a new software. if youre doing something new with software, expect to have to look up some things in the Least. probably should actually study it and figure out how to properly use it instead of hopping in and hoping it works. honestly that goes for.... most things ever
Medibang UI on mobile is the best I've seen for an art program on Android tbh, Clip Studio is hefty with a lot of features which is GREAT for upping my art but also makes my workflow very clunky compared to Medibang. It will take getting used to but I remember not taking very long to learn Medibang compared to other programs
@Niko Yeah and? They're talking about how intuitive Medibang is to Clip. Intuitiveness means not having to learn as much, but just being able to look at it and understand it immediately.
👍🏻 agree
I've been using Medibang for years on my phone. The UI is perfect for mobile devices but Clip Studio has the better features by far. The only thing that Medibang has over Clip imo is that it doesn't drain my battery as fast
The only thing? Medibang is free, csp isn't.
@@AccelSternritter it goes on sale constantly. its like buying a drawing tablet. if you care about your art, you will invest in it.
@@AccelSternritter This is why I used Medibang for years, but it doesn't change the fact that paid software usually offers more if you're able to pay for it, so I prefer to compare from the lens of "if you can get both, which is better" when it comes to features specifically. For me personally, Clip Studio is a great bargain as it's cheaper than Photoshop and offers pretty much limitless brush options and decent tools for setting up backgrounds, poses, making comics, etc. It is also a common software used in Japanese animation studios so it has an industry presence (albeit mostly in a single country). If you have the money for it I would absolutely recommend investing in it, if you are on PC even better as it is a single fee for an unlimited license.
Krita used to be my go-to for drawing, stellar program overall, especially since it's free.
You actually can clip layers to a folder! :D
The folder just has to be on the 'normal' blend mode rather than the default 'pass through' blend mode it uses, hope this helps!
MediBang is the only one that does not make my MacBook Pro overheat while drawing... It doesn't heat at all so I recommend trying it if you have similar issue with your laptop.
This is so unbelievably petty but the one thing I hated about medibang and made it completely unusable for me is the fact that the layers can't count properly. In CSP and other programs if you rename a layer or merge them and continues like 123, but Medibang goes 123 21 (and includes folders in that count). It drives me insane more than it should 😅
been using medibang for about 5 years now and have very rare, and very little complaints! i dont use a ton of layers, so worrying about merging a bunch of layers isn't a problem.. i do wish i could clip layers to entire folders, but i just duplicate that set of layers (since i dont use many) and merge them, it works more or less the same! though all said, i do have a very simple art style and have all the tools i need already in medibang, changing would be such a hassle especially as i rely on that simplicity
you can still get brushes made by others that you can download and are pretty good if you don't like default, not as simple as clips hub for materials tho, you can also use photoshop brushes, but takes time
I've become so used to Medibang. IDK if I could switch to Clip Studio Paint.
same honestly
Why wouldn't you be able to? Its just a new program its not like your trying to learn to draw again
@@SleepingForAWeek I'd still have to familiarize myself all the different tools CSP has, which could take a while. I'm also kinda deterred by the subscription plan model. I think you used to be able to pay once and keep the program for life. Medibang has a Premium plan but you can still use it for free.
@@madame_infinite_hearts uhh you only need to pay 1 time. The subscription option is optional
@Madame Infinite Hearts also not really. The only difficult stuff is the brush engine. Everything else is pretty basic, and theres lots of tutorials for everything
team medibang here
There’s features I want from CSP, but MediBang is more akin to like FireAlpaca and Paintshop Pro 7, which were my go to’s. I think I tried the free version for Clip Studio and it was… meh. I’ll try it again though.
There isnt a free version
Theres a demo but thats not a good representation
honestly i hated csp when i first tried it, i forget if you can change brush settings in the trial but if you can id definitely recommend trying it again! the default brushes are definitely more catered to webcomic artists, but with a bit of tweaking (or hours getting lost in the asset store) its really nice to use imo. obviously its paid, but the pro version can go for like €25 on sale i think? plus... theyve basically opened themselves up for 🏴☠️ with the subscripion stuff
(btw, firealpaca is medibang, like its basically a reskin as far as i can tell)
honestly you should give csp a go again, i switched from medibang to csp and its been a treat
CSP is an industry standard for a reason. It's a lot more that "meh" once you sit down to learn it.
Thank you! this is gonna be amazing for young artists!
I am a Medibang user myself
was gonna use krita but for a person who draws with a mouse Medibang is more user-friendly lol
i started with ibispaint, then firealpaca and finally krita which i use now
I personally, use clip studio, and it works just fine for what i want to do at the moment
Just got to watch this video. As someone has actually used both programs... I would say that Medibang was the program I used more so over any other free art program back before I got myself Clip Studio. Krita was just... the GUI didn't mesh well with me back when I was a beginner. I can attest to the fact that Medibang doesn't have much brushes. However, they do have brush packs on their site which you could download. I... might be misremembering though.
I would only suggest Medibang to people just coming into digital art though, as you mentioned with being not pro-friendly in some respects. The only thing I miss about Medibang would be the fact that they show you the features, like correction, on the top bar. That was something I did miss, as I don't really like having to hunt down those types of features in my art program.
My first art software was Medibang then Krita.. what I hate about Medibang is some tools are hard to reach like the brushes, I know you can customized it but then I saw Krita's pop up palette and I immediately switched.. For so long I was using Krita but it lack some features that I know I can use in Photoshop but its not available there so now Im trying CSP to practice
I'll keep using CSP. It has anything I want, especially the version 2's useful features such as Shading Assist and improved 3D model settings
I have been using the free program "fire alpaca" and I kinda like it, it has many brushes to download, but I haven't tried making one of my own so Idk, but it is also very good for beginners like me
oooooo thanks now i will try medibang pro and try to draw
great that there is a free alternative! after all, i love the CSP asset store too much and after all, the program itself is quite cheap for a monthly subscription ^^
I used medibang at one point but stopped using it in favour of procreate, I don't remember why I switched but it was probably something setting related
Also CSP has posable 3D figures that you can change the pose of and use as a basis for characters.
I am user FireAlpaca) 👉👈
I used Medibang and CSP
Medibang is a cool program, but registration spoils it (if there was no connection to Wi-Fi, it would be nice to work with it). And so the program is really good. (I haven't used this program yet because of how to draw on it?)
oh, and also in Medibang, when I was drawing on my tablet, it was buggy, the browser was stupid: SO FAR (tablet: XP-PEN DECO 1 V2)
well, another reason my computer is weak /
I also used CSP, but I didn't really figure it out)
because of the over-sophisticated interface and in confusion: HOW DOES IT WORK?)
and I am a FireAlpaca user and I try to live with this program somehow) since there are few tutorials and other training materials on it.
*Holds my ibisPaint X close to my chest*
(Not meant to come off as mean, I’ve just never used either of those even though people around me do)
Please. PLEASE do a how to on rocks! ❤
I just remember Clip Studio being so complicated I gave up with it. I didn't understand barely anything. Luckily, it was free trial so ya know, I didn't pay for anything. I'm thinking of giving it another shot, but it's just so hard to navigate. I've been doing digital art for about 4 years now, and I'm still not sure how much I could do.
I've used Medibang quite a lot on my iPad. It works just fine. But I prefer FireAlpaca on my computer.
I use Clip Studio and Paint Tool SAI on occasion. The latter's perspective tools are preferable.
Do you guys do like a q&a session or something like that where I can get some advice?
You actually can clip layers to folders in medibang, you just need to change the folder effect from pass through to normal
Ive used sai for the longest time but sometime around 2015 i switched to medibang on my phone and have been drawing and animating on it ever since! I dont like overcomplicated uis so medibangs simplicity is fantastic. I have made so many custom brushes on it over the years that if i try switching to anything else it all seems lacking. Never tried it on desktop so i got used to the cramped style on mobile
how do you animate on medibang? is that a paid feature?
Got an ad for clip studio paint the instant I clicked this
I tried to buy clip studio a week ago but without the pay pall option I’m unaware of how to buy it as the site just declines all my cards
I want to try csp, but I heard about the subscription thing so yeah, sticking with medibang for now
I use it without the subscription, and it's great. But the app isn't the cheapest it's self.
Oh I thought the subscriptions compulsory@@Boo-wildering good to know thank you
I got tired of CSP. I ended up getting used to Procreate.
my 2 main programs-
NOOOOO!!!! I missed it!!! 😭😭😭😭
I personally use clip studio paint
Medibang paint was the first drawing app I used...I don't like it lol. I strictly use Ibis Paint x now. I've never tried Clip Studio but I might in the future
in short, on mobile, stay with procreate?
Is Clip Studio becoming subscription based like Photoshop?
Please, I just have subscribed to your channel, its superb, I love it!!! If you have any video on your main influences, meaning, your prefered shows, series and artists, please point it out to me or make a video on this subject.
MediBang used to be my goto but
Ads ruined MediBang mobile for me
You sound like my grade 6 maths teacher
M u st be Annoy
As a poor boi i use medibang on me phone cuz no money for clip studio paint
bruh I use medibang, and tryna get into clip studio paint💀
im broke medibang it is!
I’d use clip studio paint if my computer wasn’t too old to run it.
CSP is in favor of NFTs and AI generated images
Umm no?
They arnt In favor of NFTS. Also, They apologized about AI tech being in CSP. Even though the AI being used is NOT bad. They arn't stealing art. They are not in favor of AI generated images specifically. They felt bad for upsetting people. In my own opinion, I sometimes wonder if people like this are NPCS cause they sure don't read lmao.
-EDIT- I am going to delete my responses because they are being taken out of context. I'll add this here:
Ai is not a shorthand for ''AI Art Generators that Steal art''. It's a shorthand for ''Artificial Intelligence.'' It's a programing code that is capable of learning. This means AI is used in all sorts of ways that is unrelated to art. Like it or not. AI is the future.
NOW, Regarding art issues. AI isn't regulated yet with laws. AT least when we are talking about AI Art generators. Yes art generators shouldn't exist in my opinion. It steals from artists BUT that's NOT solely what AI is. XD
HOWEVER, AI was never bad being used in CSP anyways. It's being used to elevate tools for artists.
@@veipurr they apologised because of their users complaining about it. 2.0 literally added a new ai tool, theyre clearly in favour of putting as much ai generation features as possible as long as their users dont complain too much
@@veipurr a corporation going back on something after backlash doesnt indicate changed minds, it indicated seeing a potential profit loss if they continue
@@veipurr when did i say anything negative about ai in art. if your gut reaction is to defend it, then you see it as bad enough to need defending lol
the other comment you copy-pasted your reply to said nothing negative about ai art either actually... geezus indeed
i only came here for the free medibang app nothing more xD
Unless you use a pc to draw neither of these are good lmao
I use a galaxy tab with an s pen and I use infinite painter and concepts by tophatch bc I refused to pay a subscription for an app I had already purchased and used heavily when I used to be on a pc tablet never looked back I hate clip now its dense and awful and I can't use any of the tools I used to take advantage of bc of the mobile subscription plan =/
Medibang pros: *Free*
Art community: F r e e? *Free?!*
Me: Thats good enough for me
