You guys reminded me of my days with Indian Express in early 90s with Mukund Padmanabhan, Santhosh Nair for New Indian Express, Financial Express, and Tamilan Express. Our days were much earlier than yours when India was privatized. Jennifer Arul inspite of being a wife of a DGP did her best in English journalism in Chennai and Tamil Nadu. Sanjay Pinto, Sam Daniel were other legends of who stood as a face of Tanglish media. Pinto without knowing Tamil surving in Chennai was a feat itself.
Prannoy Roy, Pritish Nandy, Appen Menon, Nalini Singh, Alva Brothers, Jyoti Singh, Narottam Puri are some of those few TV legends who transformed Indian English, National media in 80s, 90s.
Programs like The World This Week, Turning Point, Yeh Hai Zindagi, Shanti, Junoon, Yogi, Living On The Edge, English News @ 9, Chitrahaar, Chitramala, NIFT Films on Sundays, Ek Se Badkar Ek, Ramayana, Mahabaratha, Chandrakanta, Neela Mala, Rayil Sneham, Chithrapavai, Kurnji Malar (by MK Stalin), Iravil Oru Pagal to name a few did not only entertain us but also offered the public authentic, legitimate, and wholesome information + entertainment when India was shaping from a poor country to a developing country. Jai Hind to Doordarshan Delhi and Chennai!

I was watching Tugluk Gurumurthies 52nd annual function with karikalan. Wonderful. Even though I'm a pakka Brahmin I like to help all under privileged people. I help for there education, for getting small loans from Bank under surities to buy Buffaloes, Goat etc. I donate blood 3 times a year for them. Now too I'm happy to do that. Now I'm 68. Donating blood 2 times a year. But I help for education now also. God has given me an opportunity. I'm great ful for that. Omsairam. Stay blessed. My blessings too.
