I find it easy to just peel , half , bag, and freeze .😊
You can do that but we like them sliced because it's easier to measure for smoothies, baking, etc.
I throw my bananas in the skin in the freezer. When I'm ready to make banana nut bread I take out three bananas and let them thaw slightly on the counter. When they're a little gushy I just cut the bottom off and squeezed the banana out right into the banana nut bread mix
That's a great idea but we found it easier to freeze them this way for quick smoothies and better measuring. No waste! Thanks for your tip!
Likea banana toothpaste 😂
I just throw them in the freezer in the peel, take them out to thaw for a few minutes before you try peeling will help a bunch and using ripe bananas helps. I find when they are very green still the peel likes to cling to the banana after freezing.
👍 This is a great tip! I have thrown out soooo many bananas! I’ll be freezing now!
Happy to help!
❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for explaining about the sugar content as they get browner. I always thought the bananas would turn black. 🤢. I just slice up a bunch and they’re freezing now!
Nope, they just get sweeter! Enjoy!
Thank you! Well done.
Glad it was helpful!
Great tips thanks 🙂
Glad it was helpful!
I have never been able to get the peel off when I freeze them in the peel. Your way is best (for me).
Me too! I don't know how people get the peel off when they freeze the whole banana.
Great tip !! Also have thrown out too many bananas !! Thanks for sharing !! 🙂🙃🙂😎
You are so welcome!
I live alone, and there are times I've needed to toss out a banana or two if it turns bad. I usually just eat half a banana with almond butter as a snack. Would freezing them still be ok to eat as a snack by itself? I imagine the texture would be softer is all. I had no idea they could be frozen!
I think they would be a little weird to eat as they are right out of the freezer- as you know, freezing anything will change it at least a little bit. However, throw them in the blender with a little milk and honey for an easy banana smoothie!
Thanks. Ive been wordering about freezing bananas alot lately. I like making banana muffins but the timing doesnt always work out for me. When theyre finally ripened sometimes im just too busy to cook them into something in time. Ive been worried that freezing them would mess with the taste and texture
This way of freezing them will certainly help with the texture! Though freezing anything will change it a bit, I feel this way will come in handy for your banana muffins. Let me know how it works for you!
How long can these keep in the freezer, please?
Up to six months.
whats your thoughts on the utube video putting bananas in a jar ?
I haven't seen it but I'll definitely have to check it out!
They last for days in a jar. 😊
Can I just put unpeeled banana into freezer?
I mean you can, but this makes it easier when you want to use them. It's like meal prepping instead of fussing with a frozen banana peel when you want to make a smoothie or something like that.
You gotta take those strings off!
I wish i dnt ask
