- In Salesforce you can embed a report chart in any standard or custom object page layout. In this video I show you how to add a report chart to the Account record page in Salesforce Lightning to show how much an organization or household gave last year vs this year.
You will learn how to:
- Edit a Salesforce lightning record page
- Add a report chart lightning component
- Set component visibility to lightning components

What are the requirements for this report to work? Does it need to be an Accounts report or could you show an Oppty report grouped by Account and by year, and then show that account filtered by Account ID and show just that Account's Opps for a given period, summed by year? I've tried doing that but the yearly breakout doesn't work. It shows one bar for the grand summary total for the Account in the report.
Hi Carl,
The component will let you add any report that has a chart in it. The filter will allow you to filter the report chart based on context on the page. In our example it was Account ID. The best way to see whether the report chart with filter will work on the page is to test on the report itself by filtering for a particular account id and see what you will get when you embed it on the page with the id filter.
Hope that helps!

@@signiforce Thank you. That's what's odd. I've displayed the chart on the Accounts page but it shows one value and not a breakdown. The chart is for Oppty record types and when I run the report and filter by an Account ID, the report shows the correct donut chart (with different values broken out). But when I display it on the Account page filtered by Account ID, it doesn't show the record types broken out. Odd. I'll contact the developer list. Thanks for replying.
Is there any way to refresh the chart component when you open the page instead of refresh it manually all the time?
Hi Dipak, glad you found the video helpful. Charts refresh once daily and you can use the manual refresh button if you want it refreshed before the daily refresh. Just be careful not to exceed the daily refresh limit for the user or org. You can find more information here: help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=reports_embed_chartdialog_datarefresh.htm&type=5
Hope this helps!

Instead of having sum of gift as label of y axis, can we change the name of label?
Hi Kamlesh,
I believe the label is generated automatically based on the measure you select and the operation that you are using for summarizing the data. So in the example in this video, the measure is Total gifts and it is summarized by a sum; therefore the label of the axis says: Sum of Total Gifts. I don't believe you can change the label without changing the data and the summary operation.
Hope this helps!

Hi, in my Salesforce ORG I do not have the Parent Account ID when I want to filter the chart. I only see Account ID... can you guess why? Thianks!
No, unfortunately, I'm not sure. If I had to guess it would be that you don't have a Parent Account field on your Account object or Account Heirarchy in you org.
I have created a report with a chart but its name doesn't show up, any idea why?
is there a way to download the charts in excel form when exporting a file?
No, unfortunately the chart is not part of the export. I believe in the upcoming release you will be able to download dashboards as images.

I am the 100th one to like this video :D
Thanks Tarun!
what if we add two report on same page? i tried it but when i klik the report it always show the detail on the last repor
Can we add whole report in lightning page? Instead of just report chart?
No unfortunately you can only insert a report chart. However, you could link to a full report and pass in filter parameters from a action/button. I created another video on this here: ua-cam.com/video/MBRiwcVxm5k/v-deo.html
Hope that helps!

I have one doubt it is not possible to customize the tool tip of report chart?
Hi Chikku. The Report Charts do not have tooltips. However, you can customize the Title of the Report. In the report chart settings, if you leave the Label field blank, it uses the Report Name as the Title. However, you can add something in the Label that is more descriptive and replace the Report title.
Hope that helps!
