- No dad can truly feel dressed without a solid hip pack. It is the perfect accessory to go with khaki shorts, white New Balance sneakers, polo shirts, and that boonie hat.
In all seriousness though, this Mystery Ranch Forager hip pack (fanny pack, butt pack, bum pack, waist pack, murse, whatever you want to call it) is a great EDC option. It is a great design, without any bells or whistles, no unnecessary "tactical" features, just a really solid pack from a great company.

I'm not sure if a 32oz Nalgene would fit. I think the bigger Mystery Ranch hip packs, either the Full Moon or the Hip Monkey would be a better bet for that.
Think this would fit an FN 509c with a light and red dot?
I think so, a G19 fits, but it wouldn't be very quick to get in or out.

Yes it will, depending on the holster size. But it isn't really quick to get in or out.
Would this fit a compact pistol? To be more specific, a smith and Wesson M&P shield?
A SW M&P Shield in a holster with an eight round mag will fit in the main pocket. The Shield (just the pistol, not any of the holsters I have) will also fit upside-down in the back snap pocket and the snap will close.

It should fit. A G19 in a pretty minimal kydex holster will fit (just barely) so the P365xl should be ok, I think it is similar size. 😀

Not too much to say, it's still a great hip pack, and I still use it a lot. Haven't had any issues, nothing has worn out, still fantastic.
What waist size does this go to?
The belt goes to about 54 inches, by my measurement.
