I'm already an EDC backpack guy. Not a big pack, it's a camelback mule minus the water bladder at the moment. Being a father of 2, a toddler and an infant, it makes it easier to carry my EDC and their EDC. I'll probably still carry it once they've grown out of needing certain things.
I’ve been using the “Fanny pack” for two years in summer. I wear thinner shorts in summer and I hate things in pocket. It’s also great to be an edc organizer. I just put things in and go. I don’t have to load and unload my stuff coming and going. And if I don’t need it I get what I need and slide it under a seat. It’s also a way to carry medical stuff, epipens and allergy meds.
I just must appraciate the choice of locations for the backrounds. You do a amazing job choosing different visually interesting spots, which is much more enjoyable than just talking in some studio, like for example Taylor from Best Damn EDC uses... it gets really boring real fast, when you watch dozens or hundereds of videos in the same location. So props to you both Zac and Jamie !!! ❤
a lot of people try to put their gun in their hip bag, but I prefer to put everything else in the hip bag so that when I put my gun on my belt it’s less annoying. Idk how to explain it but less shit in my pockets makes concealed carry more comfortable to me
I have a bunch of different pouch sizes (mostly as tool organizers for specialized activities or hip belt attachments for my pack). On their own I mostly use a Maxpedition Jumbo Versipack, because I can carry a lot of tools around the woodlot (Big Boy Silky Saw, Staple Gun, etc) that wouldn't fit in a tiny pouch but aren't enough to require a backpack.
I love the Blue Ridge Overland Gear Bum Bag. It is the perfect size for me. I use mine everyday since I first got it. I even have one outfitted for TSA and air travel because I fly for work.
I do hate objects in my pockets and I’ve tried the smaller Fanny packs but the lack of organization and CCW carry made me try the larger hip packs that I can carry water bottles for long walks. They work OK but now you’ve introduced me to the belt pack option and I’m gonna have to check those out. Great video Zach! 👍
I just got a NutSac TacSac 13 and I absolutely love it. I was going to get the Alpaka Bravo Waist Pack but decided on the NutSac for me to carry more for my personal things and also my wife and daughters stuff as well
A good showing, thanks. Having used "Fanny Packs"(actualy true side waist bags) way back in the early 80s thru the early 90s while still 195lbs at 6'3", and again in my late 50s to my current age of 64 - now 280lbs and all that goes with that, one major issue I've had with these kinds of packs is that while off the body, they have copious room to put things in and are easily accessed. But once put on the body and they take the shape of the waist curve, that space is seriously diminished with items harder to insert and retrieve. And while worn, accessing most Zippers is often a struggle requiring both hands , one on the zipper, one on the bag at sometimes a weird angle. And what is now an issue is that with my smaller sized "Spare Tire" that has come with age, these bags are way to high under it making it hard to use them successfully too, so a slightly lower slung design would be preferable too. I felt this issue was just as valid when I was younger and skinnier. What I want and as yet haven't seen is one that compensates for these issues and is still not a military style "Butt Pack" in the end but rather a side waist bag. Would like any ideas and recommendations...
I normally love loading my jeans but I’m the summer I gotta wear shorts and I hate stuff in the pockets! So I’ve been embracing the Fanny Pack with open arms!
I've been using Helikon-Tex Bandicoot since march 2022 and it is still in a very good shape. What could be useful here is some way to compress it when it is not fully packed. But still I can recommend this without hesitation. You can also take a look at smaller option - Helikon-Tex Possum.
I was all set to get the Patagonia Black Hole, but once in the store I ended up with the Fjallraven High Coast hip pack. Just slightly bigger, but has two way zippers. As a lefty that was worth it.
Ow goodie! A new Zac in the wild video while I’m tweaking my edc 🥰 Bum bags/ fanny packs are awesome for those few extras bits and bobs especially on hot summer days when you don’t want a backpack making you all sweaty. I think you’ll like the Helikon SERE pouch. Plenty of organisation, multiple carry options 500D Cordura and it’s about $40 (£20-£30) from memory. And no freaking Velcro!! The Grayl BottleLock Hip Pack looks fantastic.
The Pathfinder water bottle sling I feel is great for short hikes or some outdoor events like a Ren fair so you always have water with you and your hands are free.
I’ve also used the Bandicoot on some fly fishing trips. You can remove the waist strap and run your sternum strap through the back from your backpack. And allows you to have easy access to items you need without taking off the backpack. Also gives you a spot to attach items like forceps and a handheld radio
I'd go for the Tuff Possum. If I need more room, I take my sling. Yes it's loose but it also provides some anti theft options like lockable zippers and anti slash mash enforced fabric.
I like sling bag because I like to think of them as a smaller backpack with 1 strap. Since I often carry backpacks on only one strap I find sling bags perfect. That's also why I go for the larger backpack style of sling bags. The ~15L size works perfect for what I might need throughout the day and having them tighter on my body than something like a messenger bag really helps with weight distribution. Other than that I like the concept of the hip pouch but I don't know how I feel about extending my waist circumference too much, and a lot of what I currently have on my belt/pockets are stuff I don't want to start digging around for.
I've been using a small camera pouch on my belt for years. It small enough to stay out of the way and not be to noticeable. Keep my letterman sidekick with my additional bit kit I modified to fit, a pen the pocket tool from worksharp, some band aids and a few othe small things. Been working out perfect.
Just watched your fanny pack EDC gear review and I've got to say, it's inspired me to level up! I now sport the Pandemik EDC MaskPack. It's like a treasure chest strapped to my face, keeping all my essentials within sight. I've even mastered the art of propping my phone in the front pouch, turning any waiting room into a private IMAX experience. A tiny slit in the back lets me poke around locating gear with my tongue. Pretty sweet.
I use the Tuff Possum belt pouch. Like you said it lacks organization but it’s the perfect size, gets the stuff out of my pockets but stops me from overloading. Great video
The sling which can also be a hip pack, like the Peak Design V2 6L, is very useful in a more urban setting. For general walking around, its great as a hip pack. In more crowded places, the sling on my back is in the way less than hip pack mode or a backpack. On public transportation, having the sling in front is most convenient when sitting or standing.
I carry a sling whenever I’m not carrying my backpack & the 2 cons you listed are spot on. It flops forward whenever I bend down & I have to take it off & stow it when I get into a car.
I am not a fan of fanny/hip packs but I do sometimes carry a "tactical man bag". A 5.11 over the shoulder satchel thing. It carries a full IFAK, knives, my EDC pistol, spare mags, flashlight, wallet, etc.
Great video, informative, and it lays down the information so we can pick it up easily. There’s a reason I look forward to a Zac in the Wild episode each week. Would love to see a video someday about notebooks, from pocket size to backpack size, and the philosophy behind them. Seeing how you carry different ones, the way you use them, and how you have found them handy would be great. Thanks for the entertainment and learning.
The only issue I have with some hip/belt pouches is that you need a belt for them for them to be usable. I personally don't often wear belts or often pants that require a belt. I like the Patagonia one because you can tighten it to your side with the strap. I currently use the Evergoods Mountain Hip Pack for EDC nowadays (has a 3.5L capacity). It carries everything I like to have on me on a day-to-day basis and is comfortable while doing so. The biggest things I put in it are a med kit and a jewelry organizer. It also can tighten to your body which eliminates any swinging/dangling and centers the weight distribution too (which I assume the Patagonia can do as well). Evergoods also has a 2L sling bag I might reduce to sometime. This wasn't mentioned in the video, but I'd like to see some liter capacity comparisons if that's viable.
The Osprey Daylite waist pack is also an affordable option, and I like the added security of the hidden snap clip on the side, making a "snatch and grab" harder to execute. Osprey also offers their lifetime guarantee. It's worth taking a look at.
I have been using the Fjallraven High coast pocket for about a year and love it! It comes with a sling, has a belt loop, and multiple attachment point to lay it out however you want to carry it with plenty of space for everything needed. Only downside is they put an absolutely massive long bundle of tags on the inside that make most of the space useless without cutting them out like i did
Along with the Mulepak Grande, I like the Sidecar. It has a divider in the larger zippered pocket, so at least there *some* room for separating/organizing. It also has a loop on the front, so you can carry something on the outside if you need quick/constant access to a small tool, pen, etc.
I've been carrying the peak design everyday sling 3l for almost two or three years now. Whenever I try to find a different sling that fits what I need to do, I go right back to the peak design one. If I need to carry my switch with me, I grab the 6L version. Now I own six of their bags. And I can't recommend them enough.
Zac. Another informative video. Thank you. I have gone back to the old school hip/fanny pack for 2 reasons, mostly. 1: My stuff is wearing out the pockets on my older pants and I don't want new(er) pants to suffer the same fate. 2: I don't really like a lot of stuff on my belt. But I still want it easy to get to when I need it and a back pack is too big. Like walking the dog or shopping.
All great options for sure, but the Grayl bottle lock hip pack is my favorite. Plus it solves the issue with how to carry water, especially in the summer! Love mine!
I find that I don't use a hip pack often, but when I travel, especially road trips they're great. I can wear sweats and stay comfortable and all my normal pocket stuff goes right there. Fast and easy for drive through and gas station stops when I have to pay for something and they just work for me when I'm doing that or when I'm going for a run.
From the list, my favorite is the Mystery Ranch Forager Mini. The black one with orange interiors are absolutely amazing and I plan to get one of those. A contender (a very strong one) that I have in mind is the Inateck Sling Bag.
Fanny pack, Satchel, Messenger Bag, Sling bag, Backpack...whatever your jam is as long as you carry what you need for the tasks you are going to need them for. I have a Maxpedition fanny that I wear both as a sling and around my waist. its great for holding shotgun shells on the range or additional items when just out and about when you dont need to carry a water bottle or anything bigger. I also have a Helikon Tex EDC side bag. almost perfect.
I ended up buying the Bandicoot immediately after watching this video. 🤣 I was looking for a nice belt bag and this was it. Got it in camo! Never heard of Helikon until this came out! Thanks Zac!
Free the pockets! I am definitely gonna check them out since I have yet to find a good solution myself. A part 2 contender: I was looking at the Vertx SOCP sling because of its size. probably pretty good if you can stomach the "operator" selling point.
Always a fan of belt pouches/packs. These days I use the Helikon-Tex Bandicoot (when I need more space) and the Fenix AFB-10 Waterproof Waist Bag (for minimalist carry).
compact slings are my go to because I am a wide boy and fanny packs just don't sit right 😂. I just picked up the alpaka metro sling and I have loved it so far! I like how it sits vertically so I often leave it on in the car and it doesn't get in the way for me. Keeps my shorts pockets clear so its a must for me in the summer.
HA! Man! I am totally with you on "if you're carrying a sling pack might as well be carrying a backpack." HA! No doubt! I like the idea of a "Fanny pack" though and looks like you showed some interesting examples. Well done...
mtw mini fanny is what i edc in casual setting. many different ways to wear it and its very discrete. if i work with my hands a lot then i would definitely prefer tuff possum. nothing is more awesome than reaching for your gears without even looking at the fastest speed and comfort.
I wear a big phone on the front left side and a Leatherman Surge on center back or right back. I preffer a shoulder bag for a thin rainproof poncho, a small binocular and a Luzon Large.
Not only for expanding pocket carrying capacity, but the roomier ones can be employed for off-loading weight from a backpack. To complement my 30L vest-style pack carrying bulky lighter items, a 5-10L lumbar pack for water carry and other small heavy items works well for day or overnight use. No always-out-of-adjustment-and-flexibility-limiting hip belt. It's like independent suspension for your torso!
I found the Helikon-Tex Sere pouch as the perfect urban EDC pocket extending belt pouch. I can wear this one hanging lower on the belt as well, which looks and feels better under/below a t-shirt. Looks similar to the Tuff Possum one, but with organiser inside, and like I said, more ways to wear on the belt.
I have a “skunk” bag that I love. It can be worn comfortably around the waist or over the shoulder. It’s locking, and even if you don’t lock it, it has a dual zipper system (to keep in smells for whatever reason…) which makes pickpocketing / getting into it if it’s off at the beach etc. less easy. (Although someone can obviously take the whole bag and cut through it if locked.) Capacity is not huge but the organization is decent, I love it and use it whenever my pockets aren’t enough but I don’t need a backpack. Thanks for another great review!!
It’s specifically designed to also be a sling with a wider shoulder strap. Stays tight to me, very comfortable, and very easy to pull the bag around from back to side to front as needed. I also frequently clip a heavier insulated water bottle on the strap when over my shoulder and it’s a great easy way to carry that too. Doesn’t get in the way and I pretty much forget that it’s there.
Great list and breakdown Zac, but I feel like it's almost criminal not to mention the JanSport Fifth Avenue Waist Pack. It offers great utility and durability for the price. I use a small gear pouch to wrangle the "gear granola" to make up for the lack of built in organizing dividers and gear loops.
I actually carry the Bandicoot every now and then when I need to carry something more than just stuff in my pockets but less than my big-ish edc backpack. However, I usually carry it over my shoulder like a bandolier, not as a fanny/hip pack.
I have the bandicoot and it works pretty well. But I also have a small sling pack that I have switch to just because it can fit diapers and wipes, and I don't have to carry a big diaper bag.
I just got a Mule Pack that is more vertically designed than the one you reviewed, and I love it. I have an Olight Opouch with a butane Zippo, a Victorinox Mini Champ, a mini O-pen, and an Olight Baton 3. I put the pouch, my wallet and my phone in it when I ride my bike so I don't have to stuff my pockets when I'm wearing athletic shorts.
As a woman, the lululemon everywhere belt bag has been incredible. I am a self proclaimed over packer and their 2L belt bag can hold an incredible amount and has good organization. In mine I have: Tootpicks/flosser picks Pocket knife Lip gloss(many) Card holder, coin pouch and cash Rovyvon A8x Mini first aid kit (chums surf wallet with single use pain medications,Tums, nail clippers, mini eye drops, bandaids and kinestesiology tape I use I lieu of moleskin) 2 caramel Apple suckers :) Mini hand lotion Zippo lighter with torch mod Sharpie, bullet space pen Tweezers Perfume More lip gloss Hand sanitizer Portable phone charger and cord Mini tub of vaseline Pack of travel tissues Comb Mirror Face balm and a bunch of single use wrapped antibac hand wipes And on the strap I have a gel pepper spray clipped on
I’m a huge fan of the Tanner Goods cross body bag. Fits two garage built gear pouches inside and my daughters diapers. Dad duties covered and plenty of space for my edc pouches packed full of gear.
The right size hip pack that I found so far is the Helikon Tex Possum. Smaller than the Bandicoot so it's less weight tugging at your waist and it's small enough to side carry on your waist. I find that the Bandicoot sticks a bit farther out from the body and difficult to have at your side. I have a tier system that has a pocket organizer that can go into the hip pack. The hip pack can go into my daypack(12L) or my EDC work/get home pack(20L) without having to move items between packs.
I've got this GIANT hip-pack, it's more like a sling pack you can wear across your body. I bought it off Amazon, "Shangri-la" cross body bag. Canvas, blue and dark brown. It's so nice! Seriously take a look.
I like OLD-SCHOOL so that Bandicoot looks NICE! some don't get the main pocket organizer when they get this I'm not a fan of ELASTIC straps, I find they degrade after a short time yeah, this might be the replacement to my OLD Fanny Pack even though I'm NOT a fan of Helikon or Maxpedition I've had some BAD in the past... but... the waist strap is awfully skinny at only an inch wide and I'm not sure about the quick connect plastic buckle, the metal hook looks OK I use a Waist Pack instead of my HUGE Purse, when I want to travel LITE and the Bandicoot has those MOLLE straps on the side to attach a small pouch to
Great video, love all of these, but the waste pack would be my preference, so I can use it with work clothes as well as on the weekend with exercise or beach style clothing, snap it on and off and keep on truckin'. The belt ones would get in the way when driving for me, but all useful, as with anything, validation for having them all, haha. Thanks for the upload.
Good video Zac. I have been wearing a hip pouch for several years to carry my IPhone in. My pouch is a Vanguard, and holds not only my phone, but my Surefire flashlight, a spare battery, a Mophie, and a couple ink pens. I still carry a wallet and a lot of EDC stuff, but the pouch makes it possible for me to carry my phone without scratching it up. If I couldn’t use a hip pouch, I would have to seriously adjust my wardrobe these days.
I like a vest to carry stuff, but in the heat - it’s so hot. I am wearing an old Fanny pack for the first time now - only put a few things in for now - phone, phone cord, pepper spray (outside zipper pocket that can be left open), car fob, cold steel hide out neck knife (back up for defense if the spray isn’t enough - was traumatized by a dog bite). Still carry a wallet on a string in my front pocket, with a mini Swiss Army knife, and mini bic lighter.
I do the cross body method because it's smaller and more convenient to carry, access, and take on and off than a backpack which is always on your back. And having it loose lets me move it out of the way, whereas having it worn on my belt or around my waist has less on the fly adjustability, and is uncomfortable on my waist after a while. Thanks for the review, I've been looking to upgrade to something with more internal organization and more durable materials
Yeah of all the fanny packs I've owned or seen, the Dendrite Large is my current favorite. Been rocking it for the last year with no complaints. Fit & finish is great. Would buy again.
I use a Hyperlite Mountain Gear Versa fanny pack almost daily for work (surveyor). It's on the smaller side but will fit larger phones, has a pass-through on the back so you can use the included straps or remove them and use your belt. It's also highly water resistant being made of Dyneema. I really like it and definitely recommend it.
I’m wondering if you’ve tried the Maxpedition Roly Poly belt pouch? Not to be confused with the roly dump bag they sell, which also can mount on a belt. The belt pouch has one long zipper on top. Can even fit a small water bottle. And it rolls up pretty compactly when not in use.
Thanks Zak. These are all quality "kit bags" but I've opted to use a 5.11 LV6. It's very configurable as a belt bag, fanny, sling or add on to my backpack. I large enough to carry a compact weapon (if needed)along w/ meds and tools, but small enough to be convenient for EDC. IMHO for me, it's the best of all opts. Thanks again for a great vid.
I have to say the Fjallraven High Coast Hip Pack is almost identical to the Patagonia bag, but just much better, one extra pocket, internal pocket, less straps, higher quality. However it is also a smidgen heavier and 1,5 liter instead of the patagonia 1 liter, to me they feel about the same size though.
I use a Badlands fanny pack for deer hunting. It's a fanny pack with shoulder straps and has a wire inside of it to keep the shape. This is for warmer weather were I don't have to carry extra clothes. It even can fit two water bottles in the side packs. In the 90's I used to use a fanny pack for mountain biking. I would go on fifty mile rides in the mountains. This also had shoulder straps and actually had two water bottle carriers built in. I don't remember the name of it now I go on maybe ten mile bike rides in the town I live in plus I'm older and do more things rather than just ride my bike all the time.
I got the Tomtoc sling bag a few weeks ago and i totally love it dude, not going to lie. The wife won't tolerate me having a fanny pack lol she will allow the sling bag though. To be honest the sling bag is a better size for me to fit everything i need, a few tools, headphones, power bank, notepad, boo-boo kit, sunglasses, phone, keys etc. I can not sing it's praises enough. Love the show by the way 😎
Zac, let me inform you on the best one out there - the Special Operations Equipment Fanny Pack. Heirloom grade quality. And if you want a bigger version, look at the FUPA or the FUPA XL. Even comes w shoulder straps and waist strap. Oh, and btw, made in the USA!
Great video, I've been on the hunt since phones got huge, I've been running a voodoo tactical "wallet" on my belt, open because my phone is huge and I like the access, only falls out if I'm upside-down. On the outside there's a place for my olight wm2 and a few sharpies and lumber pencil, also a separate space on the inside for other stuff. That's mine 👍😜
The Enigma (with Sport Belt) is the ultimate hip pack. But Hill People Gear is always solid too. I’ve used one of those generic thin passport holder fanny packs as an extension of my pockets to carry a few things since it’s be easy to carry without drawing extra attention.
I carry a sling because I like to have my stuff horizontal, considering I don't carry much, what a slider, small fry, tissues, pocket notebook, pen, marker, in a arc company pouch, batttery pack, mints, sanitizer, keys, wallet.
I have a topo designs one that i like to use as a hip pack. But i do also like to use smaller sling bags and messenger bags. But sometimes a backpack is what you need.
Good video, enjoy your channel. I agree with your thoughts in this video, best bag, Wandrd d1 fanny pack. Perfect size, in my opinion and when the mood strikes you can tuck the waste strap into a pass through in the back and rock it as a full on man purse clutch bag. Been using it for a couple of years now excellent quality and value.
Hey man I’ve been kicking around the pocket extender idea for a bit,, just haven’t wanted to go down the rabbit hole. Thank you for regular dude reviews 🤘🏼🤘🏼,, I have recently purchased some round house raw denim jeans and have realized that the old school cut feels great and the deep pockets comfortable hold all my stuff👍🏻👍🏻,, CHEERS Man
I've got 2 sizes of the Hill People Gear Belt Packs but I always wear them as slingpacks. I have 2 sizes because I have a bad tendency to overload them. I tried a couple other brands but the HPGs handle conceal carry better than any others I've tried. All of them require compromises but the HPGs work best for me.
Use this comment to shame Jamie for the Batman example he used😂!
Was going to shame the writer for choosing the misinformation choad, Rogan, as an example. 🙄
@@The_VietnAmericanfair. He’s in the zeitgeist and famously carries a Fanny pack that’s the only reason 😁🤙

Batman the animated series . The iconic lighting pic.........
As I remember Batman uses a whole utility belt with multiple pouches not just a one pouch hip pack.

Love mine!
Same. Its the best one hands down.
I have a Grayl Ultrapress Ti, so I have looked at the BottleLock Hip Pack a few times. Good to hear from some satisfied users of it.
@donaldstrader7241 I'm running the same set up. Paired with the firebox nano that fits in the hip pack like a glove its a solid set up
The Bandicoot also has an extra 'sleeve' behind the inside pocket & the hip belt. I have used this to carry a Silky Pocket Boy saw... perfect for it!
Used in combination with tactical belt, you can mount a fixed blade between the bag and belt. 😉👌
Hi Zac, I would love to see you do a series on the history behind different types of knives like Italian stilettos or the karambit. love your videos!
Thanks Zac!
You wouldn't need another one! I find it soo much better then anything else I use.
The Bandicoot is a beast, sometimes I'm thinking I can fit my entire house in it 😂👌
Nice! I use the Helikon-Tex Possum and it’s perfect for carrying everything I need🤙🏼
Nice!
compact slings are my go to because I am a wide boy and fanny packs just don't sit right 😂.
I use my Vanquest Dendrite daily. Loads of organization and the bright orange interior makes finding things easier for my nearly blind ass lol
mtw mini fanny is what i edc in casual setting. many different ways to wear it and its very discrete.
if i work with my hands a lot then i would definitely prefer tuff possum.
nothing is more awesome than reaching for your gears without even looking at the fastest speed and comfort.
I wear a big phone on the front left side and a Leatherman Surge on center back or right back. I preffer a shoulder bag for a thin rainproof poncho, a small binocular and a Luzon Large.
I have the Helikon Tex Possum which is the smaller bandicoot and I love it. It is made so well
Not only for expanding pocket carrying capacity, but the roomier ones can be employed for off-loading weight from a backpack.
People use to carry leather purses on thier sides for hundreds of years and now we finally return
In mine I have:
Tootpicks/flosser picks
Pocket knife
Lip gloss(many)
Card holder, coin pouch and cash
Rovyvon A8x
Mini first aid kit (chums surf wallet with single use pain medications,Tums, nail clippers, mini eye drops, bandaids and kinestesiology tape I use I lieu of moleskin)
2 caramel Apple suckers :)
Mini hand lotion
Zippo lighter with torch mod
Sharpie, bullet space pen
Tweezers
Perfume
More lip gloss
Hand sanitizer
Portable phone charger and cord
Mini tub of vaseline
Pack of travel tissues
Comb
Mirror
Face balm and a bunch of single use wrapped antibac hand wipes
And on the strap I have a gel pepper spray clipped on
Why?
Lululemon sold out to the alphabet group.... including the "T's"
I like OLD-SCHOOL
so that Bandicoot looks NICE!
some don't get the main pocket organizer when they get this
I'm not a fan of ELASTIC straps, I find they degrade after a short time
yeah, this might be the replacement to my OLD Fanny Pack
even though I'm NOT a fan of Helikon or Maxpedition
I've had some BAD in the past...
but... the waist strap is awfully skinny at only an inch wide
and I'm not sure about the quick connect plastic buckle, the metal hook looks OK
I use a Waist Pack instead of my HUGE Purse, when I want to travel LITE
and the Bandicoot has those MOLLE straps on the side to attach a small pouch to
Change the belt with tactical one. I used one of those thick gun belts, it makes the bag so much useful. 😉👌
Hill people gear belt pack is the perfect hip/sling pack for EDC 👍🏻
I keep essentials in the Mulepak. Make it easy to move from my backpack to a sling or camera bag
I have 3 different 5.11 fanny pack style bags that I rotate for my EDC and I find them super helpful
The Vanquest Dendrite should definitely have been on here! It comes in 2 sizes and works great as both a fanny pack and a cross body sling bag
I love their stuff. The Dendrite hits all my organization needs, has CCW capability but looks 100% not tactical
Yeah of all the fanny packs I've owned or seen, the Dendrite Large is my current favorite. Been rocking it for the last year with no complaints. Fit & finish is great. Would buy again.
ill check it out
Yes I have 3 vanquest dendrite hip packs and I love them all. I’ve been wanting to try a mule pak
I got the Bandicoot and it's awesome 😁
It's a beast! I don't use my other bags after buying it. 😂👌
I’m wondering if you’ve tried the Maxpedition Roly Poly belt pouch? Not to be confused with the roly dump bag they sell,
which also can mount on a belt. The belt pouch has one long zipper on top. Can even fit a small water bottle. And it rolls up pretty compactly when not in use.
I wear a Hill People Gear fanny pack. It’s tough, it’s modular, it’s good looking and it’s designed for CCW.
I went with the MOAB 6 for something between a backpack and messenger bag, the Lvl 6 seems like a good option too.
The kifaru Rogan has been my go-to for a few years now. A little large but also great for carrying your CCW when wearing gym shorts or summer carry.
The Helicon Tex SERE pouch is like the Tuff Possom pouch, for the person who likes organization and options.
I have the helikon tex possum is the same as the bandicoot but smaller. I love it for the organization it has .
I use a casual hip pack bought from Aliexpress. I never looked back at it, it is being my favourite.
I actually just ordered the MR Forager Mini. Thanks for the recommendation!
Love the show by the way 😎
i have been looking at the Mystery Ranch Forager Mini Hip Pac for a little bit....this just makes me more interested
Yep, three words: Hill People Gear.
I carry a sling because I like to have my stuff horizontal, considering I don't carry much, what a slider, small fry, tissues, pocket notebook, pen, marker, in a arc company pouch, batttery pack, mints, sanitizer, keys, wallet.
The leftover small pockets from main-storage-worn-out backpacks can often be cut out and turned into belt pouches fairly easily.
In Hawaii every guy seems to use a fanny pack to hold his wallet, cell phone, keys etc but they all sling it crossbody like a slingpack.
No pockets in board shorts brada
Yes indeed
@@billbradshaw5835
Best Fanny pack ever I got at a tac gear store in Germany. Every other pack out there is made of thin webbing, and cheap materials
I have a topo designs one that i like to use as a hip pack.
But i do also like to use smaller sling bags and messenger bags.
But sometimes a backpack is what you need.
The eberlestock bando bag is a pretty good fanny pack, just the right size, price to quality ratio is also very good
Good video, enjoy your channel.
Whenever I need extra carrying capacity, I've always used a sling bag. Quite honestly I hate that thing! Maybe I'll have to give one of these a try.
Hey man I’ve been kicking around the pocket extender idea for a bit,, just haven’t wanted to go down the rabbit hole. Thank you for regular dude reviews 🤘🏼🤘🏼,, I have recently purchased some round house raw denim jeans and have realized that the old school cut feels great and the deep pockets comfortable hold all my stuff👍🏻👍🏻,, CHEERS Man
As a person who can’t carry too much on my back, these things are great
not sure if you are aware of it, but the Hill People Gear belt pack is a top notch option for this.
