I’ve been Kindling since the very first ones large with a physical keyboard. Kindle got me through my online masters in 2005 when I took all my pdfs and journals because I was carrying my work from place to place and teaching. I’m 65 now and my eyes are giving me hell to pay but I love all things tech and less bulk. My husband got hooked too. lol. Just received my Kobo Libra Color yesterday and your site was very helpful. I just had trouble figuring out One Drive but I finally got it to work and downloaded my first library book last night. I’m loving it. Trying to be patient enough to navigate it like a breeze. Thanks.
One downside to the Libra Colour not mentioned often is that all handwritten stylus notes taken are lost if you ever switch devices or reset this device. For me, the notes I take are important to me and I don't want to lose them. And who wants to export their notes as lots and lots of PDFs disassociated from the books? Not me. So, for me, no-go.
I spent months looking at color ebook readers and I chose this one. It is really nice. I picked up a Meta Pen which was only half the price of the official stylus and it works perfectly.
Love this in depth review. I watched alot of reviews and they usually just say the specs but this video is really nice since I want to see the device really thanks!
Great product, but the stylus is very expensive. Since the last update: if you use a cheaper different brand (which works just as well) they give you a annoying pop-up everytime you open notebook.
For a company that provides such Open Access, PDF and ePub documents, etc. It's kind of ridiculous that you have to deal with that just because you don't want to use their stylus.
Hey, thanks for the video! Already watched it twice 😅 I want to buy this Kobo as my first e-reader. I do still have a question if you don't mind, does it connect to Goodreads? Thanks for this content!! ❤️
Question about borrowing the book with overdrive, when you annotate write and highlight on the page does it save anywhere when it’s time to return the book?
Thank you for the detailed review. I know highlights in books can be exported, but can you also export the handwritten notes taken with stylus and other notes in books?
Hi! Thanks for the deep review Is it possible to export notebooks as text file, or just PDF / image file? (or will the PDF be a readble one that you can copy its text and paste into a word sheet?)
Did some already ask about audio books, how to get onto th Libra... not just bought from Kobo? Doesn't seem like there's a good option in everything you covered.
weird question! can you highlight on top of a highlighted color? for pdf files on PC, i can highlight with a color on top of another highlighted color and get a color combination (ej. pink on top of yellow making orange) is that possible on the kobo libra? Also, is it possible to turn off the flashing animation/effect when refreshing or switching menu tabs? thank you SO MUCH for the clear and thorough review!! 💙📖
It would have been better in areas, for example the notebook 'demo', if you had experimented and learned it first before trying it the first time on camera saying you trying to demo it.
When your writing on it can your hand touch the screen or does it start opening other pages and messing with it? Do you hold the pen above it to make it work?
Why does the screen flash black every time you tap on a function, turn a page, scroll, etc? That seems so annoying and would drive me crazy. Is that just how it is? It makes it seem glitchy.
Can you connect an account that has multiple library cards connected at once like I can on Android Libby app? Or can you only link one card at a time in overdrive ? Thanks

What do you mean it does not save? Do you happen to know if kindle scribe can save your notes even if you switch to a new device?

Great review. Thank you.I think this eReader is in my future, even though I've been with Kindle since the very beginning.
It's much more open. I love the kindle devices but you're very much in Amazon's walled garden.
double tap will also convert writing to text. i ended up putting paperlike on it. makes the writing experience a little better
Good tip!! Thanks for commenting.

Same question here: can you export highlights and handwritten notes in book?
Nice review.
Can you add your own audiobooks and books? And can you read a book while listening to an audiobook?
also, can you have multiple library cards connected via onedrive?

No Goodreads. 😢 They seem to have a deal with kindle. Bummer not to see it on Kobo.
@@TechItBeforeYouWreckIt Goodreads is owned by Bezos, and therefore, in effect, by Amazon.
I believe Goodreads is owned by Amazon, unfortunately

Good question. I'm not sure but will try it!
!! I only use overdrive, and if it doesn't save, I'm going to see if boox will..

Does it have palm rejection when writing using the pen.

can you make handwritten notes on an ebook in the libby app on this kobo?
i mean books borrowed from the library via onedrive, not the libby app of course
Yes, i do have a question. How do you erase markups on book pages?
The second button from the bottom on the stylus should be your eraser button. Hold that down and erase your markup

You can literally drag and drop mp3 files under 200mb to the Kobo. It's super easy.
@@TechItBeforeYouWreckIt thanks!
@@TechItBeforeYouWreckIt How do you do that? Can you explain how to do it, please
I have some PDFs of books in my Dropbox. Can I move those books to Kobo?
Absolutely. It'll even connect directly to Dropbox or Google drive and create a folder for you to move those files into. It's super easy
@@TechItBeforeYouWreckIt Thanks! This is really good to know!
After having the scribe, not being able to write in a note is a deal breaker for me🙈
Brother do you know if you can send your highlights to yourself somehow, the equivalent of amazon's emailing feature?
Thank you in advance!

Mate I am missing the change the size of the page icon, any ideas?
🤔 super odd. Have you reached out to the company?
@@TechItBeforeYouWreckIt thanks for the reply I will contact them

Also was coming here to say this! Was really interested in this reader but I can’t tolerate that black flash
This is how e-readers are, same with the kindle.
@HiHi7530 💯%
That happens when the e-ink resets because after a while you can get some shadows from previous words for example

Just one library card at a time
I am having issues highligting. Do you think it is the pdf file ?
Depends on the PDF. Does it have actual text or is just an image??
@@TechItBeforeYouWreckIt it's probably the later
This is bad, everything is out of focus. Cannot understand anything. Is it my iPad screen? Or the WiFi in the plane?
Def not the video. Gotta be the wifi. Sometimes plane wifi restricts streaming to 360p
I just bought this crap and want my money back. This ereader sucks. It look so generic and cheap. I prefer keep using my kindle paper white.
What did you not like about it? Just the looks of the device ?
Or was it just too difficult to learn to use Calibre to convert Kindle books to Kobo?
Kobo is more ergonomic and functional than Kindle
