The card version is the only one that has a reason to not allow battery replacements. It's so than that you'd have to split it apart, nearly breaking it to replace the pouch battery. The others have no reason and it's not acceptable. Non-replaceable batteries, Tile is now owned by some unknown third party, and it has by far the worst coverage are plenty of reasons why these are bad products compared to their competitors.

This great that Tile has upgraded their new gadget devices before end of 2024 with Life360. I wish they could of brought this out sooner when I bought a bunch old Tiles Stickers 2022 few months ago 😢 It's has 250ft location and IP68 water resistance!! Oh not used tiles 2022 will it be worth keeping them the old or sell them and upgrading new Tile Life360?

Whats considered a "power user" when it comes to a streaming box? I am curious as to other than gaming, what is considered a power user. Also, why would anyone want to game on a streaming box? I know that gaming consoles now have streaming apps, but the primary focus of those devices is gaming, You'd expect more powerful hardware. Whereas, expecting the same from a box that's priary focus is to stream content like movies and TV shows, you woulnd't (at least to me) expect it to be as powerful as a gaming console. Curious because I am trying to decide between this and Nvidia shield tv pro but I don't game. I am generally a power user, and I know what that is in the mobile and computing space So this is why I am asking

STILL didn't answer the question if it's possible to watch media from your own network, i.e. a NAS. Nvidia Shield can do that, can you do it with this? Whether with an app or within it's own software?

I just set mine up an hour ago. And I'm loving it. I have a TCL Roku that I purchased in 2018. It's a decent TV and it's 4K the picture's nice for the money. But after this much time the interface is growing clunky. So I picked up the Google streamer at home Depot of all places. They actually had one in stock. So I don't know how it compares to all the other streaming devices out there. My system is in the Google universe with my Google home. I consolidate all of my remotes into one with Google. I use a Yamaha a/v receiver and Google's able to pick that up so I can control that too. And having all your apps and everything in one location is really handy. So I like the ease of use. I like the quality increase of the picture and I like the speed with which it moves around the various apps and locations. The integration with Google home made it a snap to install set up

Google done again! Still that stupid limited, fulla adds system. And, I tried to sideload Pocketcast: It's not compatible with Google streamer TV. Really. This is going back to Amazon. Fire stick is nearly half the price, have everything and you can sideload lotsa apps. Including Pocketcast.

I just recently got the new google streamer, i was curious about the AI screensaver feature. When i follow your steps it doesnt give me those options. Are you on a beta test version or is it a staged rollout. Not sure if you know the answer

Hey, can you jump between open apps like on the nvidia shield (pressing home twice brings up a list of apps and is easy to jump between ) when I watch a UA-cam video on this, go to Netflix and then back to UA-cam, the video I was watching slows to a crawl with no audio

I just got my order in last night and coming from their previous dongle version it is nice to zip through the apps. I have UA-cam TV as well so when it came to looking at the guide from outside the app, once you clicked your show it damn instantly launched the show playing, were as the lag I would have from the previous version. Wi-Fi 6 should've been included this would've allowed google to market their mesh Wi-Fi products even more.

I was especially waiting for the load side apps part, and I already knew about the developer mode trick, but how am I going to know if the apks I want to side load will work or not? If they don't work then this device isn't a good upgrade from my Chromecast as I know these apks work on my Android phone through screen mirroring on Chromecast. Thanks for excellent run through.

Loved this in depth review! One thing I'm wondering is how stable is this device? I've not used Google but I've seen other cheaper streaming devices freeze or hang about once a week requiring a restart.

Not a very deep dive

I am feeding this into a Denon receiver when watching UA-cam videos it will say Dolby Atmos however it is not sending audio to the center and Surround channels. I do have surround sound on Netflix however it must be a UA-cam app issue. Disappointed because the prior Google TV worked fine
