FoEhints: Good Deals at the Antiques Dealer in Forge of Empires Since August 2019, items that we no longer need can be sold at the Antiques Dealer. In return we receive Trade Coins and Gemstones. These can then be used to purchase desired objects. While buying an object always has a fixed price, that will not change over time, auctions can end in battles among bidders. If someone bids right before the auction would end, it is extended again to 30 seconds. And that can happen an unlimited number of times. Some bidders get frenzy and offer huge amounts for an item. Many players simply can afford to do that. From events and guild expeditions we all receive so many items that especially the trade coins are always enough. What is the best you can do with all these coins and gemstones? For most players they are still very limited. Therefore you don't want them to be wasted on the wrong items. The answer cannot be the same for all players. Some need fighting bonuses urgently, others forge points for faster development and a third group might need goods. Due to this, I provide 3 answers for these 3 individual groups. Let's start with the fighters. When there is no event running, the Antiques Dealer is the best opportunity to increase the attack bonus. The group of the 3 best buildings from the Antiques Dealer to increase the attack bonus does not contain the Winner's Plaza. For it's up to a 6% attack bonus you only need a single purchase using 19,440 Trade Coins and 35 Gem Stones. In the lower ages the Pirate Ship would be better, but different to Winner's Plaza it does not gain better attack bonuses when renovated to a higher age. Therefore players in the Contemporary Era and above only keep it if they are interested in its many other bonuses. And these are impressive. The Antiques Dealer wants a total of 56,700 Trade Coins and 169 Gem Stones and you have to wait very long until all required upgrades have been offered often enough. The Cherry Garden Set is very popular, also because it can be received from the daily challenges. But if you arrange it in the designed way it only reaches an average rank in my list. When more than 5 set buildings are arranged correctly, the Cherry Garden Set is close to the leading group. So which items are in this leading group then? Rank 3 for fighters is the Carousel. On a 3x3 tiles floor size, it provides 4% to 8% attack and city defense depending on the age. With a single purchase of 24,300 Trade Coins and 65 Gem Stones your attacking army gets stronger. That is a good deal compared to many others. Rank 2 is given to the Colossos. With a 7% to 15% attack bonus and the size of 4x4 tiles, it is the first choice for many players as it also adds 6 more forge points. And the Colossos isn't a bad choice but with its 10 levels an expensive investment at the Antiques Dealer. Rank 1 I give to 3 independent buildings. The Botanical Rotunda provides between 5% and 10% attack bonus and the Checkmate Square even 5% to 11%. The Royal Marble Gateway only provides between 2% and 7% attack bonus, but it only consumes 3x2 tiles. These 3 buildings all are very good deals at the Antiques Dealer. As you can see, I was able to get a Botanical Rotunda in an auction at the Antiques Dealer. This way I only spent some Trade Coins and no Gem Stones. That makes it a bargain. Those who want to push their great buildings need many forge points and for them completely different buildings are interesting. The Antiques Dealer offers extremely many different buildings providing daily forge points which often also add other benefits. For a long time, the Shrine of Knowledge was the best building. In the early years of Forge of Empires is was the main strategy for a fast development to use an event to get as many Shrines of Knowledge as possible. The number of shrines was only limited by the number of friends and guildmates motivating these every day. And the space in a city is very limited. Therefore it is very important to maximize the number of forge points per tile. The Dark Doorway did not make it into the top 3 of my list, although it is already much better than a Shrine of Knowledge. The Pillar of Heroes already is a better choice as it adds more benefits. But with a total of 56,700 Trade Coins and 105 Gem Stones for its 7 levels, this investment will take longer. Surprisingly the Colossos also made it to rank 2 of this list. With this universal event building, you never make a wrong decision. Rank 1 goes to the Shrine of Knowledge level 2. Upgraded the Shrine again tops all other buildings. The upgrade kit isn't extremely cheap, requiring 40,500 Trade Coins plus 30 Gem Stones. But for me, it is still a great deal as it increases my city's efficiency without requiring additional space. Not included in my list is the Art Exhibition building. Upgraded to level 8 it provides by far the best forge point efficiency of all buildings and everybody wants to have it. The upgrades don't appear that often so that my Art Exhibition still is on level 2 only. Also sorted by goods-efficiency the Art Exhibition would be ranked top. The list for the goods efficient buildings from the Antiques Dealer does neither contain the Tholos of Idols nor the Aqueous Mill of Fall. Both buildings aren't bad looking on their goods efficiency, but others are much better. Rank 3 is given to the Flourishing Cider Mill. With a 3x7 size, it is a huge building but with a realistic daily production of 30 goods, it is much better than all I mentioned before. Rank 2 in my list of the goods-producing buildings from the Antiques Dealer goes to the Sunken Treasure. Every 8 hours it provides 5 goods of the building's age. It is not realistic to calculate 3 full productions every day. But even with only 2 productions per day it is better than the Flourishing Cider mill which has the same restrictions. Each Sunken Treasure requires 24,300 Trade Coins plus 65 Gem Stones. Due to the tiny size, it is possible to have many of these in a city. The clear number 1 on my list is the Slay Builder. It is not much more expensive than the Sunken Treasure, and it has the same size, but with a single 24-hour production it produces 15 goods of the building's age. Therefore it is a very good deal at the Antiques Dealer. In the FANDOM Wiki, you will find a list with most prices for buying and selling items. I recommend having a look at it. I wish you to find some neglected auctions at the Antiques Dealer so that the desired object can be even cheaper than listed. Have success!
I like how the German guy changed pronunciation of "Gem" (hard G) to "Gem" (soft G) in mid video. @@GizmoFromPizmo Aw that's so sad about your friend. I play on a Dutch server so I can be in the same guild as my brother. I agree - playing all day is like having no life at all... and going to bed with thoughts about 'how can I fit this new building, or how can I get more out of this event' is just not healthy! I try to restrict myself to playing before and during breakfast, then not play again until about 4 pm (8 hour building harvest), and then again maybe an hour after supper and/or before bed. Can't let a game run our lives - but even at this restricted schedule it sort of does! Hope you're feeling well and the surgery has helped you to be healthy again :)
When calculating efficiency per tile, you should also count with road access. All buildings only need 1 tile of road so sometimes it is more efficient to build one large building than a lot of small buildings, all with road access. Because it is impossible to build a city with all buildings just having 1 tile of road, I count with the shorter side of the bulding being next to a road. So when counting efficiency per tile I count 2x2 buildings as 6 tiles and 4x5 as 24 tiles etc.
I thought a lot about how to consider that. Also important: Often it is much easier to find a place for a small building than for a huge building. Here we come into very individual situations. This is why I finally decided not to weight these aspects too much.
I use half the shorter size. So a 2x2 would add one for a total of 5 while a 3x3 will add 1.5 total 10.5 tiles. But a 3x7 will only add 1.5 total of 22.5. The reason is that the road on the shorter size is shared with the building on the other side. So for example 2 parallel row of 2x2 require 2 street every coule of building 2x2+1=5, while 2 rows of sunken treasure need 2 street every couple of building on the short side. While it's true that you can find some corner to put individual building when going for big quantity that is usually not possible.
I always try to set up the city so that so little road is needed as possible. Like putting a row with 4×2 buildings next to each other with the x2 side facing the road.
I spend everything on the cherry gardens and their upgrades, a 5x5 that provides 7 forge points, 10 goods, 10% offense, 10% defence, happiness, coins and supplies
I have found lots of great deals in the middle of the night from the antiques dealer auction. When other people are fast asleep I've got some excellent buildings for very cheap prices
It can provide 45 but players can only reasonably achieve 2 x 8 hour cycles daily. To get 3 x 8 hour cycles, you have to be at your phone or PC at the same exact time every single day (or at least the day you want to attempt to get 3 x 8 hour cycles in one day)
The sunken treasure was my favorite building by far while I was advancing ages. Now, I settled down in the newest ages, but it is still my number one goods source. The only drawback is the high upgrade kit requirement, which comes from the small size of course.
Yeah they do I believe. I sold all my first. Which was a mistake they are good having a few around when in low ages. Now I sell wishingwells instead. The low chance of getting diamonds is not worth keeping them for in my oppinion. Not in a main city maybe on a diamondfarm city on another server ofcourse

30 Magnum Opus can generate a maximum of 90 forge points a day. Not sure how you can generate 120 FPs out of 30 MOs in 1 day (1 day is max 3 x 8 hour cycles,). That is if you don't eat, sleep, shower, work or do other things regular people have to do.

I appreciate that they continue to develop more ideas and open new perspectives. And you still can get so many more terrace farms and faces of the ancient that it should not be a problem if you sold them.

SoK at level 2 is not a good building you still need 1 motivation per SoK, that means, if you have 30 SoKs at level 1 you need 30 motivations per day; at level 2, you still need 30 motivations, while changing 3 SoKs at level 1 by 1 dark doorway you don't need 3 motivations per day but 1, and if you change 7 SoKs at level 1 for 1 cindermill at max level, you don't need 7 motivations per day but 0!. what is better, have a 1 FP per 2 square 2x2 building and need a lot of motivations per day every day? or have a 1 FP per 3 squares 3x7 or 7x3 building with only 1 or 0 motivation per day needed? for high lvl players who have a looot of buildings, have all the buildings motivated can be a huge problems, even in a guild with 60 or 80 members and 140 friends. (neighbors don't count because they are mean! almost all of them don't return you the favor when you motivate them!) for attack building, colossus is the best option in terms of space. 1 colosus in saab = 1.5 rotunda (13.5 squares) + 2 dark doorway (18 squares) or 3 SoKs at level 2 ( 12 squares) with a total of 25.5 squares to 31.5 squares compared to the 16 squares of the colossus.
100,000+ for a SOK lvl 2 kit? But like you can buy them for far less from the shop itself lol. What a waste. Btw you can bid against yourself which doesn't increase the timer ;)

The antiques dealer is useless. How is 65 gems for anything a "good deal"? I've been playing for 6 months and have only accumulated 10 gems. At that rate, it will take about 3.5 years before I can buy *one* carousel!

I appreciate that they continue to develop more ideas and open new perspectives. And you still can get so many more terrace farms and faces of the ancient that it should not be a problem if you sold them.
@@FoEhints Not the low players that sold them though. I guess we will have to settle for GE3 and hope for maybe getting a few buildings there. Never deen a terrace farm on GE3 though. Not sure about the others dont remember.
Thanks!
NOO I SOLD MY ART EXHIBITIOB SELECTION KIT
In some cases the support can help. Another option is to simply buy a new one at the antique dealer
what we need is an attack tower...but that just might turn out to be the best building in the game...
Lol even 1% atk would be really strong :D
@@jantoman2914 Nah that would only make it like the checkmate square...4% like the others that would cause some insanity when it would come out...servers crashing...unlimited diamond spending...
(neighbors don't count because they are mean! almost all of them don't return you the favor when you motivate them!)
for attack building, colossus is the best option in terms of space.
:))) i was shocked
Now you can buy it with 5k :))) no one want it anymore
Its "djem stone" lol not "ghem stone"
the worst thing is: I know that. But I am so used to the German way to pronnounce it, that I often make this wrong.
But as long as everybody knows what I mean, I am happy.
The antiques dealer is useless. How is 65 gems for anything a "good deal"? I've been playing for 6 months and have only accumulated 10 gems. At that rate, it will take about 3.5 years before I can buy *one* carousel!
I once got 55 gemstones when the range was 55-90. I immediately uninstalled the game since it now has become an online casino and I have no interest in being RNG-screwed.
Besides, this game rips off ACTUAL city builders like Anno
The Washed Up Montana Athlete who’s anno?
