General Timetable for Forge of Empires It starts so simple with just a tiny village and the plan to develop it through the various ages. And then there are so many things coming to a player: technology tree, province map, great buildings, daily challenges, events, guild expedition, cultural settlements, gvg and the newest feature guild battlegrounds. Which of these are important? What should I use as a new player? What will be the best order and what to do when? How fast should I advance in the ages? This video wants to provide answers on this. In the technology tree you research technologies which consumes forge points, coins, supplies and eventually goods. Some technologies enable special features of this game. This already happens first in the tutorial when the technology spears releases the province map. Generally the province map should not be neglected. You should always conquer the provinces of your current age. In the lower ages this can be done without fighting bonuses. Often it is possible to conquer the provinces of the next age which you should do then. The technology construction releases the friends tavern. This tavern will be very important in a later stage of the game. In the beginning you invest only here. This means that all silver coins you collect there are reinvested in upgrades immediately. The tavern should reach it's maximum which will not last very long. Afterwards you can spend the silver coins for interesting bonuses. Along with the technology cultivation you get access to the events. Approximately once every month there is an event in Forge of Empires, This always is a long quest line, an integrated minigame and interesting rewards, especially the event buildings. I highly recommend these events to all players, but especially new players. Nothing else can accelerate your development as much as these events with their great rewards. The quests are very simple in the lower ages. You definitely should not miss this. The main prize of each event is a building that in relation to it's size provides more benefits than every normal building. The most important decision will have to be made when you research the technology Smithery. Along with it you get access to guilds. Deciding for the right guild is extremely important for your further development. Some guilds have special requirements, e g participating in guild battlegrounds every day. Others concentrate more on supporting each other and trading. Of course you should check the type of guild and this must match a player's expectations. Deciding for the right guild is the key to be successful and a good foundation for having a lot of fun in this game. Guild members can then participate in the guild expedition. I highly recommend to use that opportunity every week. You should fight as long as possible and afterwards you still can continue with negotiating. The rewards, including the ingame premium currency diamonds makes it worth. As negotiating is expensive, you will want to fight as much as possible. To support this you will need the fighting bonus coming with the great buildings Statue of Zeus, Cathedral of Aachen and Castel del Monte. Also the Alcatraz and the Temple of Relics are very helpful in that setup. It is recommended to move forward through the lower ages relatively fast, especially if your guild will not be able to help with missing goods and blueprints for these great buildings. The investment in these great building is most beneficial for new players as the great rewards of the guild expedition pay back everything very fast. Older advises recommended the Lighthouse of Alexandria. I only consider this for players who dislike fighting. This I would recommend only for those players who don't want to fight at all. Everybody else should invest forge points concentrated in these great buildings with battle support. Then fight the guild expedition every week and when you cannot fight any more then start to negotiate as much as possible - best case until the end of level 4. At the beginning of the Iron Age the technology architecture enables the great buildings. From now on you collect blueprints. In the beginning you simply store each blueprint that you can get. In the Iron Age you don't have many different great buildings anyway. It will still take a while until you can construct your first own great building. Also at the beginning of the Iron Age, along with the research of the technology Militia the daily challenges are released. These are a feature for players who can spend more time in this game. Even beginners will be able to complete the daily challenges and to receive the great rewards. But you also can ignore these completely to concentrate on the more important parts of the game. Along with the technology Military Tactics the PvP feature will be enabled. From now on you cannot only attack other players, you can also be attacked by them. Whatever you might try, you will not be able to defend against attacks coming from players who are already developed much better. A successful attacker can plunder an unmotivated building. Simply accept these annoying plunderers as unavoidable blows. They will not really hurt the development of your city. You will be able to afford such small losses. At the same time the guild battlegrounds will become available. You can access these via a building in the northeast of your city. I can recommend for all players to do at least a few battles there every day, Only as much as your barracks can support. Every fight supports your guild a little and you gain fighting experience. At the end of the Iron Age with the release of the technology Plowing you will get access to the Cultural Settlements. This is another optional feature designed for those players who can be online several times every day. These Cultural Settlements construct a second village that will not remain continuously. In return you will receive attractive rewards. For completing a settlement one reward is guaranteed and the other will be granted only if you meet the attached deadline. Players who cannot login many times every day should not get irritated by the deadline and simply complete that village using as long as it might take. Take your time. This is a game and it has to be fun, not stress. The question that I receive mist often is about the speed of your progress through the ages. Is it better to remain in an age to develop the great buildings or is it recommended to move forward very fast. For new players I highly recommend to advance swiftly at least until the Colonial Age. These ages are designed to teach all necessary game elements and to get the required training. This is a great foundation for further decisions. And there is no right or wrong for such decisions. The game provides a lot of possibilities and you can decide for the possibility that fits best. The recommendations I gave above only increase your further possibilities. How you use these is your individual decision. It is very important to understand that all game elements are simply optional offerings. There is absolutely no pressure to use them all and always. Nothing bad will happen if you will not participate in an event, if you ignore Cultural Settlements or Daily Challenges or of you take a break of 3 months. Afterwards you can continue where you paused. This is one the great strengths of this game and makes it so much compatible with your real life. This game is not dominating you, We all play when we have time and have a mind to do it. Most of the topics in this video have their own videos in this channel which I recommend to get more detailed information then. Today I simply wanted to provide a first overview. Especially the veterans of this game often cannot imagine how confusing these many possibilities can be for new players. I hope that today I was able to help a bit in that specific situation.

And then when I found it I was shocked as it was quite a ways into LMA! I had already started slowing down as I wanted to level up GBs! So in the meantime I would continue to advance the map! So far so that once I built a tower ruin, it was so nice! I got quest after quest pop up completed! And then I got the bonus quests, side quests, and did as many as I could until I got to the ones where you were suggested to do Colonial Age but you could do with LMA all the way up till CA only! And my map had gotten to the USA! And I didn't want to do anymore because with units in progressive era! The last GBG tournament and GE with it I took your advice and upped after GE started and woah I had no problem fighting through! I did learn that and Idk if this is 100% true but I read that wait till GBG starts to up then you will have GBG advantage! I was curious as I am so curious about the ship! And where does it take you? As people I asked said oh it takes you all over but I couldn't get a single example! you are correct about one thing - long-time players can be very intolerant of new players, they seem to have forgotten how complex the game is and how much there is to learn. Thanks for your videos - they help a lot!
When I first started it was because I learned of a serious health issue and I'd kiss my holiday bye bye as There'd be no way I could work and And when C19 hit being high risk I can't continue with work anyways but I made such a dumb name as I had no idea how complex this game would become! Thank you so so so much!
I always say to do what you want in the game. I have a fighting world, a pacifist and GB-free world, a permanent Iron, and a permanent Bronze world, each with their own pros, cons, and fun to them. For the general "go to the end" world, I say figure out what you'd prefer doing and act accordingly. If you want to fight more, get the three attack boost buildings, and if the guild you're in is able, get a Terracotta Army after the other three are at least level 10. For more negotiation-oriented worlds, any GB that produces goods is more key. Babel and the Lighthouse do come in handy in the Modern Era and beyond since they are cheaper to level, and thus produce more of the needed unrefined goods more easily.
Thank you very much for these great helpful videos! I wish I had come across them sooner! I have one account in the Modern Age, and I started a new one after watching your videos to try to take advantage of some of your tips. The second account is starting the Early Middle Ages today. I look forward to rewatching many of these to ensure I'm learning the best strategies. The best thing, though, is that you allow every player to be themselves - some will be intense, and others will have to take breaks due to "real life", which you totally understand. Thank you for that! Very Best Regards....
i did that on late middle ages. ive been there for more than 200 days xD and i keep growing, i got all diamond expansions, im close to getting all medal expansions... all for free, by just completing the 4 levels of guild expedition every week, being active on events and getting the best rewards.. but I chill
I prefer remaining in an age as long as necessary to collect the necessary goods and forge points to get Great Buildings blueprints and build them. I also like having a great stock of around 280 goods of each kind of good from each age to trade or use in the later ages. Besides that, when you are well stablished in an age, completing quests of the events is much easier. However, advancing to a new era is also important.
I can highly recommend taking provinces of future ages. Not only because you scout is really slow so you want to keep it busy, but also because you get access to future units. For example in iron age you get access to armored infantry from early middle age and in late middle age you can get grenadiers from the colonial age. These units help massively in the guild expedition. I am in the contemporary era now, and I have hover tanks from the future era and surrogate soldiers from the arctic future. Battle fortresses as city defense in contemporary era are very strong. As for how fast you should develop: The limiting factor for everything in the game is forge points, and you don't get more in the higher ages, therefore you may take your time. However you do need the arc so that you have something to spend your fp on, and of course some ages will be easier than others to fight in the guild expedition. Obviously since I stayed in the contemporary era I think this is the best age to level mb in.
Not only that, but you NEED to have every single province acquired by the end of the ages, and they take FOREVER to do! Also, CE is one of the best camping ages if you can do everything right. I had four OF and four Hovers defending my city during that time, and they were more or less impossible to beat.
@Vantika Lazar You just keep doing the story missions. Some story missions require you to do era specific things, however after the contemporary era there doesn't seem to be any such quests, so you just fight the campaign map and do the quests. Some reward units and those will be of the same age as the quest. For me the strike team was essential to fight to the hover tank. Their ability to go first and hid in forest is very strong against ai. Once you unlock one hover tank you can fight with 1 hover and 7 rouges (taking care never to lose the hover since you can't replace it).
Did you fight everyone? You need to negotiate the entire first province, and the lady there will return about halfway through the map and give you three in the questline. Ands Oceanic Future. I had turturrets and subcruisers in my DA.
@@tails183 Yes, I fought. Future era goods are very expensive when you're in CE. Guess that was a big mistake. Not that I will get there soon (im in AF part 2), but do you need to negotiate to get the turturrets?
To new players, there is no best army that'll keep you safe from other players attacking you and plundering you. The only thing you can do is collect your productions on-time, every day. Let them waste their soldiers in attacking you.
I've been playing this game for 4 years and I recommend new players to take their time, no one's rushing you to reach the future ages or become the top player. With the time I have others might have already gotten to space age mars but I reached contemporary era at the beginning of summer with all but the last technology researched. Also wanted to ask, how much longer would you recommend staying in CE? I know it's one of, if not the best age to be in for fighters but I was planning sometime during november or december in between events to move forward.
Or somethin even better, stay in postmodern era, get contemporary era troops by completing quests. You can fight neighbours easily and complete the 64 platforms. Also if you have event quests that demand productions from your current or previous age, you can just build Hatters from modern era, it's a 3x3 and requires single roads only
@@pedromendes6846 That's what I did! Somehow I was able to get CE units from the side quests, and was able to use AAVs to complete GE level 4 each week. I would have stayed, except I ran up against the "King of the Desert" quest which requires researching most of the CE tech tree.
In one of FoEHints' Arctic Future videos he mentions that a long stay in CE provides a large pool of unrefined goods for AF. My preference though is to build up my goods producing GBs (Lighthouse, RAH, SMB, FoD, and Babel) to the point where they and your WWs provide enough unrefined goods.
I got postmodern units while in the industrial era by moving through the postmodern continent map and doing bonus quests that popped up. I have two cities, but the one I'm referring to is in C world. I'm still in industrial and almost unbeatable! My Terracotta Army is currently level 50, my Deal Castle is currently level 26, my Saint Basil Cathedral is currently level 20, and I also have various event buildings contributing to my defenses. Take your time in the game. It pays off! By the way, I've been playing for about 2.5 years.
In 2013 InnoGames sent out a pack with media to all press representatives. Some more I received from them later. You find the links to the images in the community tab, in case you want to ise these as a wallpaper
Not always man, in Future map (Africa) you shall negotiate about two provinces cause you got hover tanks... in 3pcs, when attack just 1 (and if you imagine you can from post-modern era get too far far forward parts of the map, then you must get goods on that)
Could you do a video on plundering? My questions If a player aids the entire neighborhood can a player still attack or will they have to wait 24 hours? Once the attacker wins the battle how long do they have to plunder and if so can they plunder GBs? When I hit the attack button I cannot see their defense, is this normal for PvP, their defense is a guess? Thanks for the videos
There is a video about city defence in this channel. If you aid, the neighbor still can plunder you. For this he has exactly 24 hours after the battle.
regarding guild battlegrounds. Make at least one fight on the guild battlegrounds while still being in the old era. After that battle advance to the new era. You will notice that your opponents are still from the previous era for the remaining time of that 2 weeks session.
in many ages it is possible to win all battles incliding the plattforms of level 4. I have many videos in this channel demonstrating this for different ages. It is easiest in Iron Age and gets more difficult with each age then. In many ages the platforms 47 and 48 are already a good indicator. If you succeed there, the next platforms on level 4 are also possible. Then the platforms 56 to 60 are often very hard. The final platforms then are easier again if you pick the right team.
Yeah it gets harder each age so attack boost is key, especially at the later levels. Zeus, CoA, CdM, and TA are the GBs you want. Keep leveling em until you can make it all the way through. Also keep an eye out for buildings that boost your attack in the Antique Dealer.
I started fall 2015 and reached SAAB when it was published, already waiting for it. But you cannot compare the situation of 2015 with today. These many great event buildings make it do much easier today.
hey bud...i have started with Feudal japan...does it require diamonds to unlock buildings? because i have the resources to unlock them but its still asking for 27 diamonds to unlock Armour and Shoin-jukuri house ...i have space to build it, however are daimonds compulsory to build those buildings?
Good video. I think you should do a video about tomorrow era, since the contemporary era is a really good age to stay for a while and how should we proceed after that
Try to upgrade the Statue of Zeus to level 10 while you collect blueprints for the Cathedral of Aachen. In the power start series I demonstrate to concentrate forge points on these and not on other great buildings like the Lighthouse of Alexandria. That is not a bad building, but battle bonus is more important, resulting in more battles which then will provide more goods (e g from guild expedition)
wow, that's long yes, I want to encourage you to get to higher ages - future era is a great age in this game, coming with the best unit - you will see more content of this game
industrial age isn't good enough for 60 days. colonial was great and would've stayed if not for space crunch. will be switching to PE as soon as i've enough renovation kits. that seems a great age to camp and to collect traz and cf bp. thanks anyway
That’s a very fast time table. It totally ignores the fact you do not develop the ability to fight so quickly. Players will be misguided where they can’t get GE 4 done with fight and get plunder or snipe on their GBs all the time.
Some time ago I would have agreed. But this changed completely now. New players already get so many forge points from events, event buildings, daily challenges, guild battlegrounds, cultural settlements etc that it is no longer a problem to get all required great buildings to level 10 within this time frame.
Personally I wouldn't recommend that for all new players, the number of forge point required to get it to lvl 80 might discourage them. It's much easier to do it later into the game when your city is already producing significantly more forge points.
@@Vandarte_translator When you donate to another player's GB, you get +90% more rewards back, almost double. It's a FP moneymaker. You can find tons of cheap levels in your hood and friends list and make a profit. Or use it to help your guildies level their GBs at no cost to you. An example: A level 45 Arc costs 2360 FPs to level. For claiming 1st place you normally get 705 FPs back, but if you have a lvl 80 Arc you get 1340, +90% more than 705. A guildmate can donate 1340 and break even (or an enemy can donate 1200 and make 140 FPs profit). If you have 5 guildmates with lvl 80 Arcs taking the spots and breaking even, it leaves a remainder of 50 FPs to level. Level 45 is often the cheapest level. Every GB has a sweet spot somewhere around lvls 30-60 where it costs the owner 200 FPs or less per level after people with lvl 80 Arcs take the spots.
UA-cam doesn’t like publishers to talk about this. It is enough to cover my expenses that I have for this channel (video editing software, powerful pc for editing, huge hard disks for these many videos). Having a channel about a single game only means that I will never be able to reach subscriber numbers allowing me to see this as a job instead of a hobby.

Excellent overview! I will definitely recommend this to new players
@@tails183 I only got one hover tank. Did you negotiate some sectors to get a different quest line?
What is OF? do you mean BF?
Ive been in the contemporary era for more than a year, its great planing on staying here for another year at least.
Half of these things never existed when i started playing xD
To new players, there is no best army that'll keep you safe from other players attacking you and plundering you. The only thing you can do is collect your productions on-time, every day. Let them waste their soldiers in attacking you.
One other thing I did for a very long time (or rather not did) was not researching PvP in Iron Age
my worst regret is getting oracle of delphi to level 14 and tower of babel to lvl 11.
why?
Great. Watching it a bit late. Seems I haven't done much wrong on my first play through except waste a lot of diamonds
Great advice. The game is for fun and not meant to be stressful! :) Where did all the art clips come from?
In 2013 InnoGames sent out a pack with media to all press representatives. Some more I received from them later.
You find the links to the images in the community tab, in case you want to ise these as a wallpaper
Not always man, in Future map (Africa) you shall negotiate about two provinces cause you got hover tanks... in 3pcs, when attack just 1 (and if you imagine you can from post-modern era get too far far forward parts of the map, then you must get goods on that)
thanks, I so needed this!
Could you do a video on plundering?
My questions
If a player aids the entire neighborhood can a player still attack or will they have to wait 24 hours?
Once the attacker wins the battle how long do they have to plunder and if so can they plunder GBs?
When I hit the attack button I cannot see their defense, is this normal for PvP, their defense is a guess?
Thanks for the videos
There is a video about city defence in this channel.
If you aid, the neighbor still can plunder you. For this he has exactly 24 hours after the battle.
Great buildings and motivated buildings cannot be plundered.
You cannot see the opponents army except to enter into a fight.
Great video
When should you go to the next era? Should it be once a battlefield has started or when it has finished?
regarding guild battlegrounds.
Make at least one fight on the guild battlegrounds while still being in the old era.
After that battle advance to the new era. You will notice that your opponents are still from the previous era for the remaining time of that 2 weeks session.
Nice, thanks. Is it possible to fight all the way on level 4 of the GE and if so what GB's do I need?
in many ages it is possible to win all battles incliding the plattforms of level 4.
@@FoEhints Thank you.
Yeah it gets harder each age so attack boost is key, especially at the later levels. Zeus, CoA, CdM, and TA are the GBs you want. Keep leveling em until you can make it all the way through. Also keep an eye out for buildings that boost your attack in the Antique Dealer.
How long did it take you to get to Asteroid Belt? And if you passed CE, which era is best to camp in, as I'm in OF now, but I was thinking Mars.
I started fall 2015 and reached SAAB when it was published, already waiting for it.
But you cannot compare the situation of 2015 with today. These many great event buildings make it do much easier today.
Nice
hey bud...i have started with Feudal japan...does it require diamonds to unlock buildings? because i have the resources to unlock them but its still asking for 27 diamonds to unlock Armour and Shoin-jukuri house ...i have space to build it, however are daimonds compulsory to build those buildings?
watch my Japan video. You can complete it without spending diamonds.
Good video. I think you should do a video about tomorrow era, since the contemporary era is a really good age to stay for a while and how should we proceed after that
Yes, It will come
What great buildings would you recommend getting early on? (Besides the Statue of Zeus, which I already have)
Try to upgrade the Statue of Zeus to level 10 while you collect blueprints for the Cathedral of Aachen.
In the power start series I demonstrate to concentrate forge points on these and not on other great buildings like the Lighthouse of Alexandria. That is not a bad building, but battle bonus is more important, resulting in more battles which then will provide more goods (e g from guild expedition)
@@FoEhints 1 month later and I have the Arc and CDM.
Edit: and 63FPs per day.
I have been in PME for 5 years leveling up. Thinking about jumping into FE. Is it a good decision?
wow, that's long
yes, I want to encourage you to get to higher ages
- future era is a great age in this game, coming with the best unit
- you will see more content of this game
industrial age isn't good enough for 60 days. colonial was great and would've stayed if not for space crunch. will be switching to PE as soon as i've enough renovation kits. that seems a great age to camp and to collect traz and cf bp. thanks anyway
a fun mod would be to have a first person shooter wild west special event.
Are the wallpapers for each age available for download somewhere?
The Viking settlement won't give you Yggdrasil upgrades every time, there's two quests that give you emissaries instead.
6 times theyll give u emissaries
Does the GE get harder the more attack bones you have?
It only gets harder the more you advance in the ages
my city was destroyed for inactivity
That’s a very fast time table. It totally ignores the fact you do not develop the ability to fight so quickly. Players will be misguided where they can’t get GE 4 done with fight and get plunder or snipe on their GBs all the time.
Some time ago I would have agreed. But this changed completely now. New players already get so many forge points from events, event buildings, daily challenges, guild battlegrounds, cultural settlements etc that it is no longer a problem to get all required great buildings to level 10 within this time frame.
Get the Arc and then the game gets interesting.
Personally I wouldn't recommend that for all new players, the number of forge point required to get it to lvl 80 might discourage them. It's much easier to do it later into the game when your city is already producing significantly more forge points.
@@antoine1696 It's not really that hard to do. I thought it was but it only took me 7 months to get it to 80 and I'm only in Indy.
@@-Ragnar-Lothbrok- What does the Arc do when it gets to lvl
80?
How much do u earn from your UA-cam channel?
UA-cam doesn’t like publishers to talk about this. It is enough to cover my expenses that I have for this channel (video editing software, powerful pc for editing, huge hard disks for these many videos).
Having a channel about a single game only means that I will never be able to reach subscriber numbers allowing me to see this as a job instead of a hobby.
@@FoEhints I'm happy for you. You give inspiration to a lot of us.
