Thanks for your videos Victor. We are moving to Penang later this year from Melbourne. Your videos just make us even hungrier for good Penang hawker food

@Going Somewhere...glad you enjoy the videos. Wow! Moving to Penang! That must be exciting. Hopefully Malaysia can get the pandemic under control by then. It’s scary the number of daily cases happening there seems worse than India per capita. For us, we are still waiting to find out when we can go back to Penang. We do miss it there and the food obviously. Cheers, Victor

Just found your channel today. Some amazing recipes. Can’t wait to try. Can you tell me where can I find clay pot in Melbourne?

Thanks @Aussie Desi…glad you came across my channel. You can find a good selection at Minh Phat at the corner of Victoria St and Nicholson St in Richmond. But I am sure you can find it at most larger Asian supermarkets either in Box Hill, Springvale, Sunshine, Footscray whichever is closest to you. Cheers, Victor

It looks delicious 😋 May I ask what type of rice should I use to make this dish? Thank you!

Thanks @Lucy…I used the long grain rice. But you can also use the short grain rice if that’s what you’ve got at home. Cheers, Victor

Hi Victor. I was surprised to see the egg in the trailer to your video!! Good explanation though. My best experience of claypot rice in Malaysia and Singapore is the rice slightly caramelized from the charcoal fires in the stall. Anyways, you have given me enough excuses to go get a proper claypot to give this a try. Might skip the egg though!! Cheers JD

Hi @Jeyadev Sreedharan...LOL..the egg is a new thing for me as well..and this is the first time I have added an egg..it’s actually surprisingly nice but I can understand it’s not for everyone. There is a Korean dish called “bulgogi”. It reminds me of bulgogi (with the egg) and I had that a few times when I was working in Seoul. It goes well with kimchi 😋. The best method to make claypot rice is to cook over a charcoal flame..to get that smokiness flavor. Wish I can get it here. Cheers, Victor

Hi @Foon Lam..it’s called broccolini. It’s almost like broccoli. I don’t think it’s readily available in Asia..but common here in Australia when it’s in season. Cheers, Victor
