    I’m so glad you did this test brother! You got pretty much the same results that I’ve been getting. I am totally sold on simple shot Premium Black Latex. I’ve been using it religiously for the last few months and as far as longevity they are awesome. The .5 is my go to. I can’t say enough about this latex! The penetration test was awesome by the way!👊🤯🙏💥

      Man I really like this latex. If only the shipping was faster. That is my only beef with ordering from simpleshot. It is a usps problem not a simpleshot problem. But orders from there cost more and take double the time to arrive than from UK shops to Canada. I don't know why. Once it reaches Canada 2 days it's at my door. I think I will just have to make big orders. I am a fan.

    Great review Mark, SimpleShot included 2- .7mm band sets with the Scout LT. Haven't tried them yet. I agree shipping is slow to Canada, Ordered some stuff from GZK that shipped the same day and they both arrived the same day. 2.5 weeks. Not complaining cause I like the Scout LT and the pouches and band templates from GZK are great.

    Nice bands! When it comes to slingshot latex I have to say, they improved alot. Snipersling, GZK, BSB, Precise, Sumeike and so on, they are all nice and you cant go wrong with one of these. Bad latex is the exception. Way better than 10 years ago, when you used tubes or Theraband. Its really great for us slingshot shooters when you think about the progress in this sport. 300 FPS with short draw and 8mm Steel and only one band per side where hard to achieve these times.

    Mark, consistency is yours as a "sniper" sling shooter trademark, hands down.No pun intended ;-) 8mm has penetration, and once you hit rabbits ' head is a goner. 9.5 mm is the best hunting ball. An 11mm lead ball will bring down a wild pig. Right between its eyes. Some do it the same way to a deer. Of course, the ONLY~ in SHTF survival situation, when one is tired eating squirrels and opossum, lol. So, in the MAD MAX scenario. Coming. Yes sir! I'm liking the can test. I was messing about the other day with 177 Cal BB's/4.5 mm. 9-10 is about the weight of a 9.5 mm steel ball. I wrapped them in some thin paper trying to see if I'd get a shotgun effect. Nope, it held together and hit as a single projectile. The hole it made in cardboard box was huge by comparison to 9.5 steel. I thought I'd mention it so others can play with it and perhaps determine if it's useful or only good for making holes in boxes.
    Cheers

      I will be doing them from now on. Or maybe some other kind of penatration test. Should be fun.

    • @forksandspoons7272
      @forksandspoons7272 3 роки тому

      @@ATOMark I was surprised too. However I suspect the paper and how it's wrapped plays a big role. I used a cigarette rolling paper and twisted it like a Hersey's kiss. It then got crushed into a random lump in the pouch. I did another one shooting at no more than 20 ft. Accuracy was spot on. Beyond thirty feet, I can see it drifting off target, but I haven't tested it.

Thicker bands can move heavier ammo, so I guess with 7/16” steel it maxed out on speed with the 0.7 so going to 0.8 won’t help. But if I went to lead or maybe a 1/2” steel the 0.8 will perform better than 0.8. Slingshots man, there’s a lot to learn.

    • @ATOMark
      @ATOMark  2 роки тому +1

      2mm thick bands is overkill for any normal sized steel. They aren't snt faster really but they can move more weight. I have tried some experiments with heavy ammo and bands all the way up to .85 I cant seem to get 9.5mm steel to break 300fps . From what I see .5 ( thinner bands ) retract faster with appropriate ammo. I'm not saying its impossible with bigger ammo or elastic. I just haven't seen it yet.

      Oh ya any modern band will be a huge improvement. Here is the thing I dont think there is a best band out there any more. Some are faster, some are slower, some have a heavier draw some are light. Some last longer some don't. You really need to try a few brands out and see what you like.
