I just got a roll of the Simple-shot ,7mm latex. Looking forward to trying it now that I seen the results you're getting. Its good to have a US source for quality latex and Simple-Shot is a great company.
Nice video, and olso the tests you've done for the bands, but if you're willing to go hunting I think a higher taper would suit you best! I use gzk black. 76, taper from 30 to 20 mm and my activ band length is 140 mm or 14 cm! I use 11mm steel olso but switch and use 10 mm lead depending on the distance, steel will have a flateer trajectory than lead, but at close range and by close I mean 15 metres I use lead, în a hunting situation that's the closest I can get to a rabbit or wood pigion maybe even a pheasant. Anyway with this set-up witch is maxed out I can get speed's between 270 fps to 286 the lower speed being lead! But no matter the power, shot placement is important, critical actually! Thumbs up on your videos, keep up the good work!
Thanks!! I have been toying with different tapers, and I've also been practicing a longer draw style. The longer draw is by far the easiest way to get the speed way up!!
Simple Shot black is so great it lasts me longer (more shots on average) than the SHESHOU too!! Too bad they're currently out of stock or I would buy a few new rolls!
Good video. I find that Sheshou .8 25/20 tapers send the 9.5mm around 260 fps. Also with that thicker taper, you tend to get greater band life. I haven't taken a bunny yet but I've taken feral pigeons, crows etc.
1: You have to compare the pulling forces too. A stronger flat band obviously generates higher speed. F=m*a. 2: The speed increase from 228 to 240 is 5% only. If the 0.8mm thick band is 5% stronger than the 0.7mm band, then... Yes, elementary school physics.
Thanks for this. I have been using SS .7 for a few years and just ordered the .8 today. I’ve been shooting 3/8’s but like you I want to move to 7/16. How do you find the .8 wearing/lasting? Thanks again for sharing the info.
Great vid and informative. Im thinking of GZK green 0.5mm. I heard those are fast , how do the compare to Simple shot black 0.5? Also, are they heavier pull bands?? Lastly, where can i find GZK green here in the US??? 🙏🏼
I have some sheshou .65 and .85 coming. I really like simpleshot bands. I haven't tried higher than .6 but I love the .5 for 8mm steel. Just one question when you made your bands did you test the elongation first? When comparing bands sometimes you can have speed differences if one has a longer max elongation than the other. With all that extra stretch on the sheshou you lost lots of speed for sure.
when I made this video, I didn't take elongation into account. But after shooting them both for quite some time, I've come to like the SimpleShot better anyway. They're faster at max, they seem to last longer, and they're WAY better in the cold. Not to mention they're far cheaper too!!
@@TheSmoShow1 oh no don't tell me that. I just payed a fortune on too rolls. I have heard so many people talk about sheshou like they are the best band ever. Lol I guess my video will break some hearts. Lol simple shot bands are really nice. I just love the .5 and .6. I am pretty sure the .7 snipersling will smoke the sheshou bands I have coming. I guess I will see.
don't get me wrong, they're very nice bands. I actually prefer stretchy bands to stiffer bands.. Falcon, precise, SheShou etc. I only use SimpleShot for hunting because they are a bit faster and they're essentially unaffected by the cold .. for targets though, give me the stretch!!
Your bands should match your ammo and draw style. Typically, thinner is better, but it has to have enough power so send the ammo. For 3/8 steel balls, I would use a .6 band up to a .7 band cut with a taper somewhere between 25:20 down to 18:12 You can get away with thinner latex if you have a longer draw..
I'll be doing some more speed testing soon. Actually, I'm planning a huge Latex review sometime in the next few weeks. As of right now, GZK green is my fastest bands.
@@TheSmoShow1 OK thank you that's what I thought but wasn't sure I'm looking forward to getting my bands n it be the first time banding up Ott n shooting I watch a guy from Ireland catapult carnage he says he uses v Gzk green 8 mm and shoots with awesome shot placement dispatching of rabbits easy but I wouldn't Use 8mm I want to use 11mm steel and 9.5 steel and 10 mm lead for small game depending on distance for now just gonna practice target etc no game ...peace from the uk

For hunting I would use 25/20 cut for the .8 band its will be much faster for 11steel and 9.5 steel
25/15 would have the same taper ratio in the video, and would be a bit faster

I shoot the simple-shot black with the same taper. I haven't tried the Sheshou yet. Very interesting and informative video.

These were tapered from 19-12, and it was only about 40degrees fahrenheit outside.. so a bit cold.
@@TheSmoShow1 Fair Enough I'm usually shooting in 5degrees and -2 degrees celcius.

You should try GZK 0.8mm also and compare it to the Simplest black.

Very informative, thanks, subscribed
I've not understand, the simple shot latex is better for smaller diameter while the sheshou band is better for the bigger ones?

Gzk rips too fast sir.
at first i thought they be weak with such a light draw but they supprisingly good

What I have been wondering ty
Is your simple shot quicker than gzk green???
What is the best band diameter for the bands? 0.7 0.75 0.8 1.0??

Which sheshou is the best for shooting marbles sir? Thanks :)
marbles are fairly light for the size, so I would use a .55 or .6 band. you're just going to need a slightly larger pouch!!

gzk green best for me..
Simple Shot bands are horrible. Ive gone thru 7 sets. They either snap first shot or within 50 shots. Even the replacements has been junk.
